Ok...re my Pork Recipe! Pink princess....the ALDI chops are very trimmed-just enough fat in it to cook into sauce...YUM! Had it last night...I ate THREE chops (they had shrunk!)-G/F had more sauce than me to keep my carb level down. I really like Lidl/aldi meats compared to Tesco/Asda, they are on par with Sainsbury's.

Will deffo do again-cheap stewing beef-it'd be like a strogonoff....more garlic (I love garlic!)...the sage came through great! Maybe in last hour I'd throw in some broccoli/leeks to bulk it out & make a true '1 pot'. Well impressed with it. Loving your recipies, your writing my meal plan for next week :rotfl:

Ok...weight loss! Now its probably stupid to weigh yourself daily I know. Me & oh weigh in same time every day.

I hope will be cured soon! Fingers crossed for you :)

So...if I lost 3 pounds in week one would you say thats normal for a guy?I can't say if it is normal but it is my oh average weight loss since starting. He is 3lb away from goal now :j on the plus side-what other way of eating allows you to have loads of cheese on a steak...lots butter/cream in my spinich...drink voddie & still lose 1 1/2 kg??!! It makes me want to tell everyone :D

Has anyone made a low carb pizza base!

And.....any other chaps on here???? I've been guessing but maybe my guesses are not correct.........(!)

Laters as the young ones say (!)

I've tried around 6-8 pizza recipies for my husband & this is the best by a mile. Great site.

Well today has not went to plan, I have just eaten half hour ago. I just have not stopped all day to eat.

OH had a sausage & cheese omlette.

I've just eaten yet want to snack, I will have to wait for my gammon joint finishing in the sc :)

Or have some roasted mixed seeds.

Adelight- my oh loves chocolate, I melt him 2 squares of Lindt 85% over a handful of berries, 1/2 teaspoon or so of splenda (tesco own) with a touch of cream. Choco fix but lower carb.

    I lost 2 of the 3lb I put on.:A

Pink Princess....can I be nosey & ask how rigidly/how many carbs approx your hubby/you have daily??? Did you follow a rigid plan? Do you have occaisional days 'off' & if so does it take long to get rid of the water pulled back into your body? Hope you don't mind me asking...

Sorry, I'm useless with links :o Search yourlighterside.com cauliflower dough.

We stick to 20g of net carbs a day.

Then blow out on a Saturday with Southern comfort etc. We have only cheated food wise once & really regretted it. The Indians was amazing, the 6lb gain the next day made it not worth while  A normal weekend we only add 1-2lb & that is drinking a litre bottle between us :o By Monday it is gone  (drink more water than normal)
Must admit I crave my weekend :D

We have never followed a plan, we just eat low carb as a way of eating. I love to cook so I adapt normal recipies to low carb.
My icecream dessert is to die for :D

  • Right...I MUST have this ice-cream recipe....!!!!!!!!!!!!! So...do you have one day a week (saturday) where you eat what you want....ie curry & rice/chappati..etc???? Southern comfort....surely thats a carb-fest with all that sugar???! Thanks for replying!

We just cheat once a week on average with alcohol, normally Southern comfort as it is affectivley nil carb. But it will add a lb-2 due to the affect on the liver.
We don't cheat food wise, anything we miss I make a low carb version of. They sometimes taste funny the first time, but I just keep tweaking until I perfect it. I like to cook :)
Icecream dessert! one of our favs :j

Any time our double cream is going to hit it's use by date I put it in a freezable bowl with a teaspoon of splenda & hand full of berries & a few drops of strawberry essence. Blend until really thick then add a handful of full berries. Freeze for 1 hour and serve. Yummy, if needed add a few pinches of flax also. (if frozen for longer then just pull out 20 mins before serving).

I buy my berries frozen, 3 for £5 at Sainsburys.

  • That's great...will deffo try that. have an ice-cream maker too!

I must admit that my weakness is spirits...(!). I've done a lot of research online & the 'gain' after having a high-carb meal is water as the glycogen stores this. I think you only need 70gm net carbs for a bloke to trigger this. But again from what I understand if you go back on plan it comes off quickly.

I'm quite glad I've researched this cos the 'if you go back to normal eating ALL the weight will go bak on' is SO not true from what I read...it's the water going back on.

Pink princess-how long did it take you to lose the 6pounds??? Sorry...inquisition tonight! Must go as other 1/2 is crazing me to watch part 3 of this is england-bloody brill it is!

    Thanks for your replies!

    Hiya

Pink princess - you have adapted to low carb brilliantly. you put me to shame! :o although would be alot easier if i didnt have to feed hubby and kids. :rotfl: and your meal plans are great. i must copy them in the new year when i have some money to spend on food. :o

Mazzers - your bread looks like real bread! i dont think i could stop at just 1 sandwich! :p

debtmonkey - years ago (about 10ish) my hubby did low carb. he did not stick to it on weekends (beer and even chips) and during the week he had jack daniels (he was missing carbs so let him have a treat). he lost 1 stone the first week but he was 18stone. then i think he lost around 7lbs a week for a few weeks until he gave up. i would love for him to get back on it but he wont. and that is why he is over 19stone! :p he suffered from 'carb flu' and really struggled with all the salad.

i am just had pork scratings after drinking a glass of red wine so am really chuffed as i know there are 5 boxes of roses in cupboard! :rotfl: i cant believe everyone is giving up over xmas. i cant. i will be at my sisters and she has cats that i am allergic to so am hoping that sticking to low carb (sort of) for the few days means my asthma wont play up due to cats. and i would like to still fit my nice clothes before visiting other family after xmas :rotfl:
  • Hi all :)

Been MIA for a couple of days due to a works do Tuesday in London, had a 3 course meal which was yummy, nice to eat roast potatoes as a treat (not to mention the xmas pud!!), but I did have rather a lot to drink :o Can't face a weigh in so will be good when I can and relax for a couple of days over Xmas, back on LC with earnest afterwards.

Although I reached my goal of 2 stone loss by xmas, that is only the start, ideally I need to lose another 5-5.5 stone to reach my ultimate goal, but will break it down into smaller steps. The next one might be 2 stone by end of April or thereabouts.

I dont think I will be slipping back into my old habits permanently as just a couple of "normal" meals with bread and sugar has really made my IBS flare up, LC got rid of it completely, within a few days of kicking the carbs.

Hope everyone is ok and hugs to those who need or want one :)
Let's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:

I've been going a bit mental with the dark choc lately, bought 70% with orange, coffee and tried some diff brand 85-90%. The flavoured ones are quite high carb but I've only been having 20g max a day of them. I wonder if you can get flavoured 90% choc? Or if I could make some? hmmmmm ;)

I have searched for aaages for flavoured 80% plus choc.. never found any :( i'd luurve orange flavoured ;)
