Oh drat - just lost a post when I was almost finished.
debtmonkey grt recipe but I'm thinking I'd probably try it with cream instead of mushroom soup - lower carbs.
pp - sorry I can't help you with any exciting recipes - I'm still working my way thro the ones at the start of this thread. Well done on the iminent achievement of your goal - that is marvellous. You will def be there and maybe less for Xmas.
Can't remember what else I wrote in the lost post - oh yes it's come back to me now. I'm trying to plan meals/nibbles for next week - I'll have about 10 every night until Boxing day and trying to cater for lc'ers, veggies and others. Most nibbles etc are breaded or battered - I've already got cheeses on top of the list but any other ideas? Also thinking of chicken/ham etc with quorn chicken pieces/fillets.

Left over chicken from yesterday shredded in a buttered dish with a large jalapeno, half a red onion, 1 left over slice of bacon & a touch of chicken stock with cheese over. Put in the oven for 15 minutes served with cauliflower.

Tasted yum but I kicked myself afterwards that I missed adding a few mushrooms  would of went perfect.

Lost 2lb today, very pleased :T

Just 1lb to go to back to my norm/goal :)

Well done to you, and beanrua, i've never been near goal .. never likely too either.

We love lc party nibbles :j

Mozzerella rolled in sesame/poppy seeds seeds on a stick, jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese (pinch of chilli or garlic powder on top) , mushrooms stuffed with garlic butter, ham rolled philli, pepperoni crisps loaded with philli, chicken bits rolled in parmesan, prawns wrapped in bacon or chicken skin, sausages wrapped in bacon.

That is a start, let me know if you need more :)
Life is short, smile while you still have teeth :D

I've been doing battle with the Xmas tree and other decorations mazzers -Please believe me when I say I've only got this far because of you and all the other great recipe givers at the start of this thread. I cannot thank you enough!!:T
pp thank you so much for those tips for nibbles - I'm thinking I could substitute the quorn chicken pieces for chicken and roll them in Parmesan etc etc and I could use veggie sausages wrapped in veggie bacon etc= you are so kind - thanks a million - any other tips will be most welcome - I'm kinda looking forward to this Xmas as a challenge. I think I remember roasting aubergine slices one time as an alternative to crisps.

Has anyone ever had zero (glucomannan) noodles? http://www.zeronoodles.com/About.html

I've had some in the past and thought they weren't bad. They do look icky and slippery in the packet and I certainly wouldn't want to eat them like spaghetti carbonara for instance with very little sauce. However I had them with mince chilli/bolognese type mixture with a small proportion of these mixed in and it worked well for me. Very much like a bowl of very heavy on the sauce, light on the pasta, regular spaghetti bolognese.

I read somewhere they have basically no flavour so need to be mixed in with something strong and I'd agree with that.

They are a pain to get hold of as I can't order from anywhere I usually do (*) but when I get them again I'll probably try them in a strongly flavoured chicken stirfy - but again only a small quantity of these for the variety and the impression of noodles in the stirfry, rather than the bulk.

*I buy from lowcarb megastore in bulk - if you order a lot the postage is free but that does mean I have to hide most of it and only bring it out bit by bit. I usually eat too much chocolate when it first arrives - have the bad effects of too much sweetener - then put the box upstairs at the back of a wardrobe and just bring a few bits down at a time.

Sorry all for not really responding to much - now this place is back to busy again and I don't get a chance to read from Sunday to Wednesday I totally lose track!

SD.. you are getting very naughty :naughty: but seeing as you're on holiday we'll let you off :D

    :

This morning i feel a bit bloated and i`m not going anywhere near the scales
:naughty: Where is the protein? :rotfl:

Get at least 2 pints of [STRIKE]water[/STRIKE] wine down you :p

    :D:D

    Morning Peeps

we`ve got a good bit of the white stuff here this morning :D

I`m not really planning on going anywhere apart from walking the doglets and doing some more decorating so i`m not too concerned.

Breakfast today will be sausages and mushrooms, no eggs left BAH i`d forgotten about those so maybe i``ll have to go out later after all. Younger dog looked as though she was about to be a bit "poorly" so i boiled all the eggs up last night and fed them to her :D

Dinner will probably be a sandwich and tea will be a big pile of veg and probably more sausages.

Pink Princess - Your nibble ideas sound fabby, might have to pinch some for snacks :D Ta for posting them :A

Right best make a move, the birdies need feeding - extra food for them today BRRRR.

    Keep warm peeps

Well it's quite sunny here :p

It's clouding over a bit now tho.

I should be good today, i always am in work, too busy to think about food and only being able to eat at allocated times :D

Sistercas i was the same with tiredness, i was exhausted all the time, i was sleeping, at the very least, 12 hours a night, with zero energy, til i got back to lc, and even tho i'm a bit off/on atm i feel much better.

Just had a txt to do the later shift today so i'm off to have a tidy up before work.

    Hi all!

Beautifull day here in pennine West Yorkshire (I live 155m up)...a sprinkilng of snow at my level but hills opposite are DEEP! Very festive...!

Ok...re my Pork Recipe! Pink princess....the ALDI chops are very trimmed-just enough fat in it to cook into sauce...YUM! Had it last night...I ate THREE chops (they had shrunk!)-G/F had more sauce than me to keep my carb level down.

Mazzers...think you said it'd be good in the slow-cooker...well thats what I used. On looking at labels the Mushroom full fat condensed is lowest in carbs-16 per tin. Now if you eat normal portions (ie divide recipe by 4) its only really 4 carbs a portion....so beanrua I'd say its pretty low in carbs??! However...could easily be 1/2'dd & balance replaced by dbl cream at end-maybe a veggie stock cube in to make up flavour???

Will deffo do again-cheap stewing beef-it'd be like a strogonoff....more garlic (I love garlic!)...the sage came through great! Maybe in last hour I'd throw in some broccoli/leeks to bulk it out & make a true '1 pot'. Well impressed with it.

I think generally low carbing is good. G/F bought some quality street home from work....NOT EVEN TEMPTED! I think my eating plan is ok....to get the correct nutrients-could anyone advise (itsa few pages earlier).

Ok...weight loss! Now its probably stupid to weigh yourself daily I know. Started this last Friday & as mentioned I had the lads (saying it like that makes me feel less old!) over & copius neat vodka drunk yet still 5 pound weight loss. This has now dropped to 3 pound weight loss so will weigh in again Sat am. After my miscalculation with net carbs I'm guessing I was probaly on an average of around 30 carbs a day (was aiming for 20). Pulled it back now I know how to count properly to 23 yesterday. So 20-23 max daily initially. I know alcohol does 'stall' the fat burning. Also had some firends oveer last 3 nights & had more voddie (I'm not an alky honest!). DOn't plan on having any booze now till Sunday so hopefully Sat am will be better weigh in.

I'm not gonna get too obsessed-as long as trend is downward! I'm itching to get to the gym-I have a problem with my left knee which I hope will be cured soon!

So...if I lost 3 pounds in week one would you say thats normal for a guy? Or should it be more....I'm sure the booze didn't help but on the plus side-what other way of eating allows you to have loads of cheese on a steak...lots butter/cream in my spinich...drink voddie & still lose 1 1/2 kg??!!

My only thing I want to get now is some low carb bread. Will order gluten flour, etc today & stock up on flax. I think the reason a lot of people fail to maintain low carb is that you have to plan a bit more....which is what I want to do.

    Anyway....off now.

Last question (god I go on!!!!!!).....can any of the low carb bread recipes (mazzers??) be used to make say 4-6 buns-which would be great (could be frozen!) for burgers???

Has anyone made a low carb pizza base!

And.....any other chaps on here???? I've been guessing but maybe my guesses are not correct.........(!)

Laters as the young ones say (!)

Afternoon everyone. I've been really busy this week but now I don't have any uni deadlines until the new year :j Just a massive "to do" list to tackle grrr.

I've been going a bit mental with the dark choc lately, bought 70% with orange, coffee and tried some diff brand 85-90%. The flavoured ones are quite high carb but I've only been having 20g max a day of them. I wonder if you can get flavoured 90% choc? Or if I could make some? hmmmmm ;)

I had a double yolker this morning, got me well excited! Will have a burger with salad for lunch, not sure about dinner... fish stew?
