  • Hi everyone.

The yo-yo lb is back on again this morning :o Don't think I'll bother weighing for a while as my LC ways are a bit lacking. I'm supposed to be having a protein shake for brekkie every day but it's been too cold so I've been having NAS peanut butter on toasted Burgen  I've then had tinned soup for lunch (with more Burgen :o) & a carb-heavy dinner - oops.

Talking of tinned soup - I've found another lowish carb one today in a cheapie shop called B&M. It's Baxters (so a good make) & it's Courgette & Gruyere  Cost 89p but I would imagine it would be more in a supermarket. 8.1g carbs for half a tin - will try it tomorrow (preferably without the Burgen ;)).

It's freezing cold & wintry here so I think I'll put the heating on & do some internet Christmas shopping for the rest of the afternoon.

    Hope everybody is well :)

Hi all. Was doing ok yesterday til i had to walk to town - Soooooo windy and cold I went into restaurant and ordered roast beef and veggies - doing well so far but hen ordered .....chips. It was lovely and I really enjoyed it.
I weigh myself every morning and find it can yo yo quite a bit - I figure if I only weigh once a week I'll miss the lows and they are what keeps me going - I'd hate to weigh myself on a 'gain' day. Am still 5lbs off my target weight which I'd hoped to reach for Xmas - but am still chuffed with my weight loss so far.
pp that chicken recipe is very enticing - I love garam masala - think i'd love that.
    sd and sweet - hugs
    painting people - I'm envious
debtmonkey - the net carb thing will motivate you as you can see what a difference lc makes. Well done.
Got to face the elements again - ah well I suppose it is exercise!!
B - lc bread and eggs
l - cauli and broccoli soup
D - chicken fillet and veg

Terrible weather here, thunder lightning and pouring rain, it's very dark but with what little light we have i see i've missed a few patches of paint.. so out comes the paintbrush again.. sigh

I found a some lovely luxury soups today too, Aldi Soupreme cream of asparagus 10.6g per half tin and cream of wild mushroom 9.4g per half tin, not very lc but not too bad, and they look pretty lush.. their cream of mushroom is 6.8 and cream of chicken 7.6 for half a tin so they're a good choice, with a slice of my thickly buttered bread it's still only about 10g-ish carbs

I've done loads of xmas food shopping so only fresh to get now.
Right i'm off to dab my paintbrush then i am going to get some decorations up.
  • Debtmonkey, sorry I don't think I said hi previously :hello: Another good low-carb veg to have is leeks - cheesy leeks are lush or just 'braised' in butter with black pepper
Btw, I thought loren was a spammer but would love to be proved wrong :)

beanrua, you've done brilliantly to get within 5lbs of your target - I've never got anywhere near :o

mazzers, mmmmmmmmm, it's definitely soup weather. The Baxters soup is a 'luxury' version (with fresh cream - how can it be fresh when it's in a tin?!) can't wait to try it tomorrow. I keep forgetting to look at the Aldi soups - I like the sound of the asparagus one  And I can't believe I never thought to put butter on my bread when having it with soup!!

Approx 4 -5 max carbs a portion (large boneless pork chop spare rib!_
1 TIN FULL FAT CONDENSED CAMPBELLS CREAM OF MUSHROOM (16 CARBS TTL)
    GOOD HANDFULL MUSHROOMS-SLICED
    OPTIONAL-2 CHILLIS-CHOPPED (I HAVE HEAT IN EVERYTHING)
GOOD PINCH DRIED SAGE OR MIXED HERBS
    2 CHOPPED CLOVES GARLIC
4/5 LARGE BONELOSS SPARE RIB PORK CHOPS (£2-99 AT ALDI!)

Heat frying pan to ultra hot-add a touch oil-brown (but do not cook through) -45 secs max. Pop into cooker. Add chopped mushrooms, garlic, herbs, chillis, pepper. It WILL look ultra thick but will thin out. 7-9 hours on low (longer is ok but may stick-won't burn-a little).

    DELICIOUS & QUICK.

Or.........use cheap diced pork-no need to brown! As chops are so tender they fall apart anyway....

You can ommit the browning if you want. I make it with about 15 chops & freeze in bags of 2 chops!

MMM Debtmonkey your pork chops sound yummy. I think I'll try it next week but I'd trim the fat rather than brown first as I am lazy :p or a busy lady ;) PS 9 hours = quick :rotfl:

Got caught up in a big case before I left work tonight so I've just got home after starting at 7am

So meal plan went out the window again & we just had a chuck in. :D

Left over chicken from yesterday shredded in a buttered dish with a large jalapeno, half a red onion, 1 left over slice of bacon & a touch of chicken stock with cheese over. Put in the oven for 15 minutes served with cauliflower.

Tasted yum but I kicked myself afterwards that I missed adding a few mushrooms  would of went perfect.

Lost 2lb today, very pleased :T

Just 1lb to go to back to my norm/goal :)

What has every-one else had for dinner?, I like to recipe pinch/share :o

Ooh debtmonkey that does sound nice :) could put it in the slow cooker.

I used to use campbells mushroom soup with crispy bacon stirred in, to have over pasta as a quick meal, i'd forgotten about that, it'd prob be nice over courgette ribbons.. yum

I really need to get organised with a meal plan as i've been grabbbing anything tbh.

SD.. you are getting very naughty :naughty: but seeing as you're on holiday we'll let you off :D

Sweet i'm having the asparagus for lunch tomorrow, will let you know what it's like.
I thought the same of loren :spam:
