Debtmonkey, i think the fibre is already deducted on UK products, its in the USA they have to deduct it to get the net carbs.
Hann, cant believe the psyllium isn't working for you
I think its wonderful, i've never taken laxatives or anything of that nature as i've never needed to so cant compare.
Maybe it just has that effect on me, i know chillies have the same effect on sweet and the GG crackers on others, never for me tho hence singing the praises of psyllium.. i'm wondering now if it's combined with the protein shake that it has that efffect on me?0 -
Sweet and SD :grouphug: very sad news, never a good time but worse somehow at xmas.0

I have to share this as it just soooo soooo nice, real winter comfort food.
MILD MADRAS FULL CHICKEN
Tried this & it is so nice it will now become a regular.
I skinned a full chicken & then marinated it in
20g of melted butter
2 table spoons of garam masala
2 tablespoons of madras powder
2 cloves of crushed garlic.
I then added it to the slow cooker with an inch of hm chicken stock & a dash of soy sauce.
I turned the chicken after a few hours to help baste it.
With an hour to go I removed the cooking liquid from the sc & reduced in a saucepan with some red onion & a few tablespoons of passata.
I served this with stirfried mushroom & cabbage, one the best meals we have had for a long time if I do say so myself & enough for another meal each alsoLife is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

Well i think so.. i thought someone else would comment an agreement.
I'm off to google
It does seem fibre is already deducted in the UK on manufactured goods.
found this on the link below
International and European labelling laws are different. The total carbs listed in most International and European labels are Net Carbs no further subtraction necessary. If you're in doubt, use a Hidden Carb Calculator.

Morning Peeps
cold and icy here this morning BRRR!
Sweet ((((HUGS)))) sorry that you had bad news too.
Yep Mazzers is right with the net carbs thingy, i remember reading about this ages ago and had forgotten all about it.
Funeral went as well as could be expected yesterday, so many people went that they couldn`t all fit in the chapel for the service.
We didn`t end up going out last night, by the time that we were home we were both frozen and i started to feel a bit ropey so we rescheduled for Sunday, i now have invites for going out Fri, Sat and Sun and i really don`t think i CBA lol. I must be getting old.
Brekkie yesterday was non existent, dinner ended up being the lc lasagne and i ended up having to eat 3 portions
It had been cooked, frozen and defrosted and i was just reheating it when DH found out that he`d forgotten something and had to dash out, cue me on my lonesome with a huge dishful that had to be eaten or binned - so i ate it all and felt stuffed for the rest of the day
The only other things that i ate were two burgers about 9pm and half a bar of choccy to go with a glass of hm pear wine that we decided to open.
Today i`ll try and do better, i`ll have scramblies and mushrooms for brekkie and some cold meat or pate on toast for dinner.
Tea will be something with lamb - not sure what yet but i`ve just defrosted a very old half shoulder from the freezer and i`m not sure what to make with it, if i can`t decide then i`ll just roast it with veggies.
I`m hoping to finish the painting today and i also need to find all the pressies that are stashed about the place whilst DH is at w*rk - wish me luck
Have good lc days peeps, catch ya later
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Hey all...in my 1st wk of this....best to weigh daily, 2-daily, weekly? Did people find in week one weight could go up by say 2 punds one day then drop by 3 the next??
Veg....frozen spinach, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauli...would you say these are the best low carb veggies?? Not over-keen on leaves!
Overall I was probably 6-8 carbs over my 20-25gms...due to me thinking uk net carbs were same as USA ones....d'oh! Would you guys say you can make good weight loss with say 30g carb a day?0 -

I lose daily in the first couple of weeks, but stick to weekly after that. My weight does fluctuate daily but a downward trend weekly, altho, women have time of the month issues with weight gain

yes

I can lose on 50g daily, i used to use fitday.com to check my daily carb count but now stick to the same tried and tested food.. (not at the mo sadly)
You can work out you 'critical carbs' or something like that.. Atkins advises once weight tagets are acheived to increase carbs by (5g daily i think  ) until you start to gain, then decrease until you start to lose and this will be your daily count to maintain your weight.0 -
Its really a nice low-carb diet program.0
