Morning all!
Didn't log on last night as felt quite rough so went to bed. Am fine now though! Looking forward to weekend, got lots of low carb treats to make to take along to Mum's on Sunday.
It would appear that this thread isn't for everyone, heyho.
Have a good day!

Bit quiet round 'ere eh? Anyone wondering why? Gonna be a bit quieter.. I am offski to where they take the plan seriously and don't spend most of their time "confessing" all their sins.I never said that. I told YOU to put ME on ignore.
I'm sorry we haven't all gelled well. Please dont make the mistake of thinking I or others like me who regularly joke (or confess) on this thread dont take the plan seriously.
It's this thread and joking my way through it that stops me from slitting my wrists in despair sometimes. You have not got the first clue about me and I appreciate that you wouldn't, based on my almost constantly jokey type posts. However the internet hides a multitude of things and we all get through our lives the best way we can.
Being supremely strict and sticking to the plan religiously works for you, it doesn't for me. I've had many years of dieting and have finally settled into a routine that is working for me. For the biggest part, I am careful and I do stick to my allowed foods however I am clearly not in the same mind set as you as I do occasionally lapse. I deal with this by having a moan on here amongst people I now see as friends and confidants and who I know will understand. Some of them will kick my butt, but they do it in a helpful way, not an intolerant way. I moan......I move on. Sorted.
I think (for myself anyway) that if I was to eat something and not say, then it becomes some sort of little secret and that's dangerous. It can easily be built on and become one bigger secret and before you know it, I'm scoffing kitkat multi-packs and hiding the wrappers again.I deal with things by talking about them and getting them out into the open. It's obviously either not your way or you dont feel the need to do this, but I do. I dont know why you can't let me (and others who have a similar 'confessional streak' be). I think it would come under the heading of acceptance of others?
I think my feeling about you is that you are an excellent advocate of the low carb woe and you probably are much more informed than I am. However you are also very intolerant of others who do not do as you do and find it hard to accept their words and actions. It's a shame because that's the bit that stops us all from gelling. Imo.
I'm sorry the thread wasn't what you wanted. I may have been annoyed by you earlier but we all want the same thing in the end (even if we have slightly different ways of getting there) and I hope you end up at where you want to be. :beer:Herman - MP for all!0 -

:hello:Paula - have been there and done both of those - plus a multitude of others and can honestly say that without these[STRIKE] nutters [/STRIKE] brilliant people and their many ideas I wouldn't have had a chance at starting never mind continuing.
Not been around much for the last few days as I have dislocating knees which have been agony so not had much sleep and been as grumpy as heck. How I've stuck to the Atkins I'll never know.
Sweet - I didn't know about the coffee one either til I made the mistake of walking past all the mother's day stuff in the Asda - why do they have to do these things to us :D
Hopefully can get back to normal - well as normal as I can be - now, onwards and downwards.0 -
maz you made me laugh the most i have for days reading it back from the way i think you saw it actually had me in tears of laughter!
no my bfs dad died last week and he has only just got back- his mum died when he was 18 and now hes 26 with a brother the same age as me so just them two left. we are both in our last year of uni so lots on our plates and hes taken it ver badly. his dad had been terminal for as long as we have been together which is over 2 years:D
Aww.. Glad it cheered you up, but poor old BF..
Was gonna give you some strict advice:rotfl: on controlling men, (no not you controlling him) but men trying to control women:rotfl:
or vice versa (dont want to be accused of being sexist):rolleyes:0 -
HC thanks for the recipe, i will be trying that.
Badger, I have tried loads of stupid diet pills, even the ones used by anna nicole smith (and she's now dead) but they havent worked and thankfully i only ever took a few and stopped when i could see no results. also tried hoodia, is crap, fat magnets, crap also and all expensive, i have wasted so much money and it can seriously damage your health in the bargain.
Anything 'speed' related will work but is so damaging to your heart, i will never be tempted again
Not looked for coconut in tesco but will do, love that section myself and sometimes items there are cheaper than elswhere in the store for similar items.
Welcome Paula, lots of help and support on here.0 -
Hi Paula - hope you do well in your weight loss, you will find alot of support in this thread.
Aliasojo - I so agree with what you have to say. I like to hear that not everyone is a saint and has the odd "bad day" its only normal. I find this thread amusing and enjoyable to read - we don't need people being really heavy handed.
Mazzers - Well done on your weight loss - you must be so please. I'm gutted today as it was weigh in this morning and I haven't lost anything since last week and I have been very good all week which is even more annoying. Oh well will just have to carry on and hope for a better result next week. Doesn't help though when DH has lost 2lb when he ate a sandwich, crisps, dognut and 4 biscuits yesterday - very NOT LC and very NOT FAIR!!
Moonrose - hope your knees are better soon and well done for still sticking to the plan when you have been in pain it can't have been easy. XStarted Atkins 22/02/09 - total weightloss 11lbs:j0 -
Agreed - there are plenty of other threads on MSE (and on other forums) where people can jack-boot around if that's what floats their boat.
I'm in torture this morning. Put a shoulder of lamb in a slow oven earlier, and the smell is driving me insane!0 -

OMG, that will be gorgeous. Love lamb and always cook mine slowly, falls of the bone then. Shoulder has gone quite expensive now tho and it used to be quite cheap.
Gotta have lamb Sunday now.. :beer:0
