Newleaf - i didnt think tea counted. i was having tea with a splash of double cream but changed to green tea as i thought that it might count towards my water intake but there is only so much green tea i can drink. do you not retain water then? maybe i am focusing too much on the water side.

Adelight - i will definatly drink more green and herbal teas. i think its the coldness as i have ice cold water and dont want cold drinks in winter but dont fancy it hot or warm. funnily enough i dont have the same problem with cold white wine!! :p thanks for the idea. i dont like tuna but i do like sardines in tomato sauce which is surprisly low carb and make some of the low carb cheese straws. they always have cheese so might buy some low carb crackers. maybe even look at jars of things like pickled onions and gerkins (dont even know if i like them or if they are low carb) so will have a hunt around the supermarket i think. :D

Mazzers - i used to make low carb bread years ago when we first started (when hubby used to do it) and he said that when he toasted it, it would burn really easily. infact he set the smoke alarm off in work so often they got rid of the toaster and banned people from bringing one in! :rotfl:

i feel a bit happier that i can find some stuff now. if it wasnt for so long and over xmas so want to play with the kids fun toys i would probably just put up with it. and afterwards we are visiting other family and then going away so its going to be a bit of a difficult food time for me so want to be prepared as much as possible so i dont ruin all the fun stuff.

7L ?? presume you mean weekly??
Nope, daily! It's weird I know, my doctor can hardly believe it but I've always been like it. I do sweat a lot when I exercise, I'm talking 100% saturated clothes after half an hour

An 80g serving of garden peas only has 6g of net carbs so it's not that bad, it's just not recommended on atkins because it does have more carbs than most.

I don't think it can possibly matter. If you think about it, tea is 95% water, and everything turns to 'soup' once you have swallowed it. How is your body supposed to pick out the individual components? I think as long as you are well hydrated everything should be fine - keep the kidneys happy and all should be well.

:rotfl: well i'm still here! 7L is only dangerous if you drink it in over the course of 30 minutes. Kidneys can comfortably deal with a litre of water an hour. The guideline of 2L a day has virtually no science behind it, everyone needs a different amount depending on life style and diet. Someone who eats tonnes of veg may need to drink one glass a day but someone who is very sporty or lifts weights may need 8L+

Had neighbours visiting last night and it's usually sandwiches, cakes etc but decided to have lots of cheese and lc crackers instead. It went well and apart from the glass or two of wine I think it was as lc as I could manage. Seem to be stalling somewhat on these last 5 lbs. think I'll have to be strict with myself and stay teetotal until I get to target weight - I'm so tantalisingly close and I don't want to slip into bad habits again and have the weight creep back on.
Interesting to read the different views on fluid intake.

  • Morning everyone :)

Thanks for all the tea & sympathy about the shoulder - it still aches like hell but I have an initial physio consultation this afternoon so will see what's said.

I didn't go completely mad with the carbs yesterday, although I did finish off the hazelnut choccie :o Everything else was fine though - forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer for dinner so had sausages instead.

mazzers, you would love the screensaver my DD1 has put on our laptop - it's all pretty coloured bubbles bouncing around - would go lovely with your pink & girly laptop :D

Sunny, hope you have a better day today :) At least you have some time off work coming up - something to look forward to.

    B - protein shake
L - buttered crispbreads with topping, HM soup, couple of sausages on the side??
    D - chicken & veg

Hope everyone has a good LC day today :)
