We've just had a LC Sunday lunch, it was lovely. Even the kids didn't miss a normal one.:j(They don't eat low carb)

I buy Lindt 90% it is only 14 per 100g. I don't eat chocolate, I actually hate the stuff but OH loves it :)

For tomorrow I have prepared a beanless chilli ready for OH to just put in the slow cooker.
Tuesday night I have prepared him beef stirfry & he is just going to make an omlette Wednesday night. So OH is sorted, now I'm worrying what I'll eat whilst away

pink princess did you just skip the spuds and stuffing? I'm doing a LC roast, well just roast chicken leg with veggies.

I'll stay away from the choc for now, maybe some 85% can be a treat next weekend.
I got some asda all bran today and it's only 22g net carbs per 100g! Think I might be able to have the occasional bowl for breakfast and maybe make some bran muffins. I don't want to eat too many carb textured foods because I just know I'll eat too many, I'm all or nothing, so gotta keep it to 1 every 2-3 days. I'm back to work tomorrow so making some snacks- pate is almost done finally and just made these: http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/cocoa_coated_walnuts.html using mixed nuts, they're okay :/ Think I'll be coating some nuts in 85% cocoa dark choc instead next time.
The recipes on http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/recipes.html gennerally look really good though, I wanna try loads!

We had a beef dinner, the roasties are made by mashing up cauliflower & addding some cheese, an egg & black pepper. I then take a dessert spoon size of this & roll it in parmesan then deep fry. They are lovely, the remain of the mix is our mash. We have a sausage wrapped in bacon in place of the yorkshire pudding.
The gravy is the juices from the meat reduced with a touch of cream added.
I didn't do stuffing but will at christmas, here is the recipie I have for it.
    Sausage meat
    Onion
    Celery
    Butter cabbage
    Chicken stock
    Eggs
    Seasoning

Evening all, not a lc day for me but im making another loaf tomorrow to get back on the straight and narrow :)

Sweet that pork tenderloin was lovely, no waste at all, im gonna split the xmas one down the middle and stuff it, will be lovely for boxing day sandwiches.
I'm tempted to get a few for the freezer as they are so cheap, dont know if the offer has ended today tho as there was no label.

Just visited tesco.com and i dont think they are on offer?? damn cheap tho :)

My belly is like a barrage balloon, hopefully it will deflate tomorrow

  • Hiya sistercas, welcome home ;) although you seem to have arrived in the midst of a choc-fest discussion :rotfl:
Good luck with losing the half stone - I've lost 12lbs so far, which takes me to the weight I was when I started Slimming World, which I joined after putting on loads of weight after stopping LCing, which means I still weigh loads more than I used to :o

pink princess, the roasties sound delicious
I will now also have to look out for the Lindt 90% - a hormonal woman's work is never done!! :rotfl:

Sunny, I think I must have been wishfully thinking that the Aldi hazelnut choc was low-carb :o I do seem to be a little bit obsessed with choccie atm.

Chocolate - it calls to us all! I have sugar free stuff from boots and the lowcarb mega store place which is not bad and has a good or bad side effect depending on the state of you digestion;)
(god I must seem obsessed with my bowels - I'm really not!)

But - for when nothing but real chocolate will do - I buy 100% cocoa (yes really 100%) from the chocolate trading co.
    http://www.chocolatetradingco.com/chocolate-free-from/no-added-sugar

They do 2 types of 100% - for me the Domori is too bitter but the Pralus is absolutely lovely. Most people can only manage a squre but I can eat half a bar!
Its expensive at £5.25 a bar but if you can only eat a square at a time it works out pretty OK.

They also do 99% cocoa cooking chips which I used to use to make chocolate pots.

Finally my treat for christmas/birthday/easter/whenever someone is celebrating with chocolate and I don't want to eat the rubbish stuff
    http://www.chocolatetradingco.com/buy/high-cocoa-chocolate-box?k=99
Just a few so you can't get too carried away and the BEST chocolates I've ever had. (there is also a bigger box with a wider selection with more sugar in - I've only had that once, it was too hard to step away from).

Not the cheapest stuff for sure but if you can afford to treat yourself, or you want prezzie ideas for others to buy you, its a winner.

Oh last thought. My other poison from there is only 75% cocoa but contains (plenty of) chilli. Its by Venchi and I found a small square of that munched with a larger square of the 100% Pralus gives just the right amount of chili with chocolate (don't knock it till you've tried it) for very little added sugar.
  • Morning :)

Naughty HanSpan for posting those links - mmmmmmmmmm they do look gorgeous though!!

Weigh day for me & I've lost another lb - feeling quite bloated because of imminent totm so I'm amazed I've lost anything tbh.

    B - bacon & scramblies
L - buttered crispbreads with topping, HM soup if I get to make it, leftover chicken from yesterday with mayo*
D - maybe the rather plump female pheasant that just landed in my cherry tree & almost broke the branch :rotfl: More likely to be chicken & veg though

*Aldi had some 'posh' mayo in store yesterday - I got the roasted onion to try 2.9g carbs per 100g - thought it would go nice with chicken or sausages.

Right, off to make my brekkie & then I'll have to go shopping & I really don't want to :(

    Happy LC days everyone.
