Hope you are all well. I was away again this weekend but didn't stray too far from the low carb path. Haven't weighed yet but def feel better following this woe.
Thank you to whoever it was said about the GG crackers with pate - absolutely lush just had some for tea. Need lots of water now.0 -

Is it your Birthday today or tomorrow?? Happy Birthday anyway & enjoy your meals out & your champagne.
Morning all
nutty, hope the asthma is settling down, my DD2 is just in the process of being properly diagnosed & has been given a steroid inhaler nowHer skin is terrible atm as well, eczema patches all over
Diet was mentioned as a possible trigger for both so that's interesting that you think your change of diet affected you. We do have a cat so he's also a possible culprit even though we've had him 3 years.
Minihauk, not sure if it was me that said about the GG crispbreads & pate although I do eat them - bought some Aldi Brussels pate to try, cheaper than M&S & I think the carbs are slightly lower as well. I always have my crispbreads buttered btw, no matter what my topping of choice, makes them taste less dry. My current fave topping is salmon mayo with a couple of chopped spring onions mixed in - I have it piled on the crispbreads about an inch thick & it's absolutely lush!!
I've already had my protein shake for brekkie, will have crispbreads for lunch (I might make some soup to have as well) & dinner will be chicken & veg.
Have a good LC day everyone0 -

I am back to normal today, thanks. i had noticed before about high carb and effecting my asthma but not to this extreme, infact over last new months i had cut down my inhaler to the minimum as its so strong. so all the carbs at weekend i think i would have been ok if i had upped my inhaler a few days before going.
i had a cat when i was little and was fine (didnt get diagonsed asthma until i was 18) but when hubby got me a cat for my birthday that set me off and i am now allergic to all cats, some dogs and rabbits and ginneau pigs. I was told that dairy quite often sets it off, i do eat cheese although not as much as i want to! :rotfl: thinking about it i am sure my friends son who has eczema said that milk sets it off for him. might be worth keep a food diary and cutting out 1 thing and seeing how it goes.
I hope the inhaler works for your daughter. my youngest has inhalers but just seemed to grow out of it and not taken them for a year.
Just been shopping and stocked up on cauli and broccoli. asda got their 3 for £10 on meat so got 2 chickens and pack of pork chops. that should keep me going for a bit!
and before i forget mr porkys 5 pack of pork scratchings was £1.25 in asda and 99p in lidl if anyone is wanting some.0 -
Afternoon peeps
I`m just typing on the rotten lousy pc that refuses to work properly:mad::mad: I`ve just updated the graphics card driver and now the text is all blurry - i know that i`m going for an eye test tomorrow but this is just takin the p! lol
Lots of excersise here this morning as i`ve cleaned the inside of the greenhouse ready to move lots of plants in there for the winter, i`m bushed now and need to clean up the kitchen. I`ve just tubbed some food up for w*rk later so i`ll be having fish pie and green beans again. I`m eating ham, pastrami, cheese and gherkins atm smothered in the last of the extra hot horseradish sauce:D and i`ve got a sandwich for late on when i start to feel picky.
I`ve not lost any more weight but i`ve noticed that the belt on my trousers has moved up a hole so i`m pleased with that:D
I have to set off early for w*rk today as i have no car, DH has taken it to have the brakes fixed for me so i`m on the bus, i think that he will be slightly peed off too as he arrived late and will leave late so he will have wasted his day off in one respect, he arrived late this morning as he was caught up in the traffic from this:eek:
Would save on gritting the road i suppose:p
Nuttybabe - I actually took some of the shake mix to w*rk yesterday but never used it lol, its made its way into my locker so at least i`ve progressed - baby steps
Mazzers - The price is very different for the VWG, i`ll be ordering next week too i think but the postage will be "mine all mine" unfortunately. Think that i may see if i can have it delivered elsewhere too as last time it took ages to arrive as the courier that they used were bloomin useless.
Right i`d best make a move!
Have good days peeps!
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning
nutty, thanks for the asthma info, I think I will do a food diary for my DD just to see if there's anything that might have triggered this. Think I need to read up on asthma/eczema generally as this is all new to us.
Another glass & a half of wine consumed last nightHubby is such a bad influence on me  I had a couple of crispbreads with cheese as well as I was feeling a bit peckish (I would have had these anyway, it wasn't because of the wine).
Brekkie will be a shake, lunch will be crispbreads & pate, dinner will be chilli mince & swede mash. I still haven't made soup - must do that today so that I can have a bowlful mid-afternoon (roasted butternut squash, leek & cauli made as thick as possible ).
Have a good LC day everyone0 -
, or mushroom Hello peeps
Off out later, better make the most, last day of carbs.
My son used to have eczema on his legs when he was small, grown out of it now but i had to use 'pure' fabric conditioners and the only washing powder that didnt affect him was Tesco value.
Incidentally, i've been looking for l/c tins of soup for when i cant be ars*d to make any and they are all quite high per 100g but Aldi cream of chicken or mushroom soup is the lowest i've found at 7.6g for half a can, not very low i know but with a slice of l/c bread (get baking peeps) it's inder 10g and i've been losing on it, also it's a lot more moreish than cabbage/broccoli soup.
Btw sweet, i guzzled the champagne on Sunday so it was just red wine yesterday :rotfl:0 -
Came back from weeks holidays last Thursday - tried to stay lc but the wine tricked me up!! Dreaded getting on scales but I was very lucky - no gain but no loss. Think I got away lightly so I've knuckled down these last few days - no wine - and lost 1.5lbs when I weighed to-day. Porridge for brekkie and cauli, broccoli, lentils, peppers wirth spices in slow cooker for later. 5 lbs to go to second target weight/ This thread has been my life saver - what with all the delicious recipes, tips and support. :T
Very interesting about asthma - my sil suffers from breathing problems every so often - no other factors seem to be involved -nand I know she is a high carb eater - double benefits if low carb helped - a food diary would certainly help in pinpointing whether carbs have a part to play.Treat the Earth well,It was not given to you by your parents,It was loaned to you by your children.Masai proverb0 -
, or mushroom Hello peeps
or mushroom Hello peeps?!?! Wondered what on earth you were on about until I got to your paragraph about the soup :rotfl::rotfl: A case of wandering words!! Or too much wine?!
I've been doing the same checking shop-bought soup (fresh & tinned) - why are they all so high-carb?! Quite often I cba to make my own, like today
beanrua, hope you enjoyed your hols & well done for not gaining. I'm not sure if you've said what target weight/weight loss you're aiming for - don't feel you have to share, but I was just curious?? I haven't set myself either target this time around, I just have a rough idea of where/what size I want to be.
Well I got back late (& with a headache) so no chilli & swede for dinner tonight - just had a cheese & mushroom omelette with green beans & a bit of cheese sauce instead. Really not what I wanted & I didn't enjoy it - trying not to get 'egg gag' just thinking about it, iykwim _pale_

I've lost 1.5 stone - was 12 stone to start with - and am now 10.5 stone - would like to get to 10 stone or just slightly under. This would be the right weight for me. I am now the weight I was a week before I gave birth to twins - quite a while ago I may add!!
I feel loads better and have got great energy.
Trying to think of ways to make veggie burger things with cauli etc dipped in eggs and then covered in.......what???? I need substitute for breadcrumbs - thinking of nuts or maybe toasted oats - any ideas anyone?
Hope your headache sweetserendipity disappears soonTreat the Earth well,It was not given to you by your parents,It was loaned to you by your children.Masai proverb0
