  • Morning :)

Congratulations on the 3 stone loss, scottishf, that's a fantastic achievement in 3 months!! :T

mazzers, hope you have some time off over Christmas, I can only imagine how manic it is at this time of year. And you, Sunny. Infact I hope everyone gets a break over Christmas, life/work just seems to be so busy these days.

I'm having a full English breakfast (for lunch) today :D bacon, Black Farmer sausage (rip-off price in the Co-op!!), scramblies & mushrooms  I'll have the usual protein shake for brekkie (first time made with the unsweetened soya milk so fingers crossed it's drinkable) & roast chicken, cauli & green beans for dinner - forgot to buy the Schwartz gravy :doh:so I might have to do a cheese sauce with it.

Btw, the salmon & spring onion mayo on buttered crispbreads was gorgeous yesterday-I had the salmon piled up  I've decided I'm going to do a mealplan so that I don't forget to have this & the tuna mayo once or twice a week as a change from my usual cheese or pate.

Hope everyone has a good LC Sunday :)

    What were you eating exactly?

Tired out again, bloody fed up of work.. taking the mickey they are :(

Was doing great until 5pm, then i just couldnt face going back to the grind on a bowl of soup so i had beans and chips.. and a topic!
Weighed this morning though and hadn't gained so hopefully the hectic schedule will have helped me avoid gaining today too..

Mostly during the day I have sausage and egg for breakfast, and a cold meat salad for lunch. Dinners are really varied, I found the Atkins cook book was really good for ideas. Eating a lot of cauliflower (mashed its like mashed potatoes, and you can make soup with it) or have it with cheese sauce (recipe below) and also a lot of mushrooms. Matesons Smoked sausages are also high on my list, as are steak and chicken.

Cheese Sauce - I dont measure quantities - just kinda bung it in

    Double cream
    Grated cheese
    Paprika

I pour a bit of double cream in the pot to cover the bottom, and pour in some cheese and add a small amount of paprika. I heat this up on the lowest heat until all the cheese has melted. Its gorg! I put a link to another recipe which might help with the quants http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/recipes/recipe-sauce05.html

Ah, similar to me then, 'cept i seem to have too many off days.

Kept the 16lb off, and can take my work trousers off without undoing them but thats when i get a bit cocky and think i can eat what i like again.
No staying power it seems, always start flagging after i lose a stone!

Got three huge pieces of frying steak simmering in schwarz gravy and onions atm, smells divine.
They can have it with mash/peas/carrots and yorkies and i'll have cauli mash and a few carrots.

Off out for a meal for my birthday Tue and Wed and got a bottle of finest champagne in the fridge ready :) (a free case with Tesco double up vouchers :j) so will just have to restart Thur ;)
  • The protein shake made with unsweetened soya was a success :) I really didn't like the look of the milk when I poured it (I thought it resembled breast milk which kinda put me off!! :rotfl:) but the taste was fine so I'm happy to have that instead of lactofree now.

The full English was okaaay - really don't rate those Black Farmer sausages though - not much taste imo. I usually get Cumberland so maybe that's why?? I did think while I was eating it that it would have been nice to have had a bacon butty with Sunny & mazzers' LC bread ;) but then I'd have wanted loads of brown sauce as well so probably just as well I didn't have any!!

Hubby wants a 'Frasier night' tonight, which basically means watching Frasier episodes in bed, drinking wine & eating nibbles (cheese & almonds for me). I'm getting weighed in the morning so hope all the wine I've consumed this weekend doesn't stall me.

Morning everyone. I'm feeling pretty rubbish, think it's "induction flu" so will stay in bed revising until my lecture at 2pm, then back to bed after. Today is day 4 and I'm not weighing myself until day 7, I don't want to weigh too soon and get disappointed by a lack of progess I just know that would make me mess up :( I have perfected a fluffy chocolate protein powder sponge for cake cravings, had a big one last night when housemates were all eating baked chocolate cheese cake and I couldn't have any. At least my cake had lots of protein, healthy fats and fiber :)

sunnyday & mazzers from what i've been reading, if you were low carb and losing due to a ketosis effect the chocolate, beans, chips, booze will kick you out of ketosis and it will take a couple of days eating right to get back in. It probably won't make you gain(if it does it will be water that you'll lose easy peasy) but it will stall your weightloss for a few days.

I have all the ingredients in for crazy cabbage and it looks yummy, I'll have it for dinner tonight I think.

adelight, hope you feel better soon, the first few days can be hard going but just keep telling yourself it won't last.

3lbs off for me this week :D which takes me into the next stone on the scales (just ;)) - makes up for not losing anything last week.

Protein shake for brekkie, buttered crispbreads with something on top for lunch & pork steaks with veg for dinner.

    Happy LC days everyone.

    Morning peeps

i`m just in the middle of making a couple of fish pies for the next two days worth of reheatable food to take to work so the house reeks :D

Today will be having green beans with it, i`ll be taking the normal sandwiches to w*rk and some cheese and ham too.

I`m still forgetting about the shakes and keep on kicking myself when i see that someone has posted about them and thinking "i could have had one of those", might have one before i set off today as i can`t see myself having time for anything else.

Adelight - I hope that you`re feeling better soon - don`t worry it won`t be for long. The cake sounds yummy so when you feel up to it if you don`t mind posting the recipe it would be appreciated, might keep me away from all the choccys at w*rk too! I know that all the rubbish that i`m eating atm is knocking me out of keto but i just can`t seem to help myself :o I`m even telling myself this as i pop the next hazelnut whirl into my mouth:o The two huge glasses of amaretto last night didn`t help either:o

Sweet - Well done on the loss:j:beer: Its great to see the scales creeping down:D

Newleaf - The VWG seem sto be back in stock at Honest to goodness too but is quite a bit cheaper HTH

Right best get on as i`m cooking, hanging up the washing, trying to fix the pc and cleaning the upstairs too. I have to sort out the kitchen, do some gardening and hop in the shower amongst other things in the next couple of hours and then zoom off. I need to get my bum in gear and get ahead of my jobs too as i won`t have a car tomorrow so less time to spend doing bits and bobs in the morning

    Happy lcing peeps

SD, the gluten is much cheaper at Honest to Goodness, only £3.79 for a kg, def worth putting in a big order as postage is £4.49 for parcels up to 25kg, worth splitting the p&p with a friend if you can.
I think i'll order 5kg or so next week.

Adelight, i'd like that cake recipe too, sounds great.

Incidentally, for anyone interested, I never do induction, waaay to strict, and not really necessary ;) mostly try to keep my carbs below 50g per day and 10g per meal and have found that good for me.
As I mentioned earlier, my downfall is upping my carbs (not deliberately.. i just get fed up and dont get organised with pre cooking) after i lose a stone.

Another loaf made today, altered (and doubled) the recipe to include nut flours and less gluten/soya/flax, not quite as light but well risen and a proper loaf size, unsure of the carbs, but used ground almonds so wont be too bad. Looks just like a normal wholemeal small loaf :)

Sunnyday - could you get the protein shake out of the cupboard the night before so ready for the morning so you dont forget! :p

Scottishf - your meals sound like mine. :D and i will definatly try the crazy cabbage.

Well, I have had a huge reality check this weekend. We went to my sisters so thought as i am down to my weight I will just eat what I am given rather than her to go any trouble on my behalf! What a nightmare, my asthma started playing up saturday evening and everytime it seemed to improve i was given pizza or sandwich to eat so got bad again. I put it down to my allergy to her cats as part of it so when we got home i ate the same as everyone else out of pure laziness and got bad again! so now i know I cant lapse back as I have gone well over a month with no problems with my asthma and was hoping to speak to the doctor about going different inhalers as mine are really strong.

So today I am being strict to get the carbs out of my system as my chest has been really tight as an after effect of the attacks at weekend. so have bacon and eggs for late breakfast (teacher training so we all had lay in), pate on cucumber as a snack with some chunks of cheese and for tea I have beef with brocolli and cabbage. i will be having a bit of gravy with it. i have pork scratchings for later if i get hungry. i have also cut out my usual cups of tea and am having lemon flavoured green tea. How good am I being! :A

I have my cheeseburger pie for breakfast tomorrow, ham salad for lunch and lowcarb bolognaise with cabbage for tea. Will be planning the rest of my week meals later just to make sure i dont stray. :D Asda have cauli for 50p each so may get a few for meals for rest of week assuming its still on offer when i get there! :rotfl:
