Look at the carb content :T brill eh :)
I have got the latte ( thought it could replace my iced coffees that i love) choc nut (yum, very nutty) cookies and cream (not so nice) and strawberry cream (lush, my fave) i blend mine with ice cubes, will be great in summer :)

I get cramps on lc too, it's the low potassium, will have to try the lo salt as potassium supplementation is not really recommended without blood checks as too much is as bad as too little..

Sweet, i use the schwarz chicken gravy mix as its the lowest carb, i use a third of a pack for my Sunday dinner.
  • I'd forgotten about that Schwartz gravy mix, I'm gonna buy some, thank you :)I tend to use creamy sauces (mushroom, cheesy leeks) to 'wet' my dinner but sometimes I feel I want something a bit lighter so that will be ideal. I know you probably meant it for the cottage pie btw ;)

Some lush sounding shakes on that website, I would probably go for the choc nut one as well  I think I'll get some lactofree on Monday (shakes made with water don't fill me up) as I'm starting to struggle a bit with breakfasts - think I need a break from sausages & eggs.

    I'm making butter chicken & cauli rice tonight - can't wait!! :D

Minihauk - vodka doesnt have carbs does it ;)

No :D have it with soda water or diet tonic water & it's completely carb free :j

i have found my new favourite snack. slices of cucumber with pate spread on it. got 200g from lidl for 69p (dont know if that is cheap, i assumed it was) only 3.5 carbs per 100g and i used less than 1carb worth for my snack. :D

I wish I liked cucumber because that sounds like a really nice snack. I get M&S Brussels pate 170g for £1. It's slightly lower carb than the Lidl one (2.3g carbs per 100g) but as you use less than 1 carb anyway it doesn't really matter.

I just checked & I don't have all the ingredients for the butter chicken :( still making it though, I'll just have to improvise ;)
  • Hi there - looking for a bit of advice if possible.

I've been low-carbing for about 4 months now. For the first 4 weeks I lost weight - I've lost about 12lbs/6kg total - then my weight loss has stopped.

For about 4 weeks after the weight loss stopped I noticed a definite change in size, and I can now get into slightly smaller clothes :j
But now I don't seem to be losing any weight or size and I'm getting a bit fed up.

I've been quite strict low carb all this time, I try to vary my meals and have lots of green veg, but I am stuck as to what to do to kick start weight loss again - I need to do something soon as I have another 40kg to lose!

Can anyone give me some advice?

    TIA

    Afternoon lcers

well i was very good in the pub :D

Only 4 voddie and sodas and i had the glass filled right up to the top with soda, i usually drink vodka neat but i`f i`d done that outside the house i would have gone through tons of it, i also ate one - yes only one sweet chilli coated peanut from dh's bag and a bag of pork scratchings :D

Hopped on the scales this morning and stayed the same so i`ll keep an eye on them, i`m suposed to be off out Saturday night but i`m now working Sunday as a favour for someone so i might not bother - crikey i`ve not been out for ages and now that i`m back on the wagon everyone wants to go out boozing
I was shattered when i got home last night as i`d been on the go for 20 hours so fell asleep on the sofa, i woke up at some point and stumbled into bed and had i lie in until 8.

Walked the woofaloes and then went shopping and running errands, just had a very late brekkie of bacon, scramblies and mushrooms with a cuppa and now i don`t feel like doing anything but the house needs quite a bit of attention. Think i`d better make a start on the upstairs first but i`m going to have half an hour browsing first :D

Nuttybabe - I ALWAYS have the chocolate shakes as they are my absolute fave, never tried to heat them up though. I make mine with water but may give it a try soon. Wish i`d remembered about the tub this morning as i could have had one before i went out.

Mazzers - The choc n nut shake has my mouth watering :D

Betty - Even though you arn`t losing your bod will be changing shape, Have you been excersising and maybe building a little muscle? If so muscle weighs tons more than fat so you may be still losing the fat and not realising it. Believe me you will still be getting results even if the scales don`t show any for a while. I`m still bang on one stone lighter but i`ve noticed that i now have to wear a belt with some of my jeans despite yo-yoing a few pounds for a while.

If you`re really desperate try the strict two week induction again but i doubt that you will need to. Thats just the way lcing goes for a while.

I`ll stall for a while now - i always do around the one stone mark and then in a couple of weeks or so it will start to come off again only slower.

    SD

EDIT Betty are you eating enough? Sometimes i find that i don`t as i`m not hungry and this stops me losing too.
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Yeah i stall at a stone too, also, sometimes I dont lose weight but lose quite a lot of inches, and its not from muscle gain.. very strange.

I've been so good in work but ate two small sausage rolls on the way home :(
better watch out for the slippery slope.. i can feel it approaching.

This time though, i'm doing lc for BG control not weight loss (although that is a great side effect ;) )

Sweet if you have psyllium husk in the shake it thickens it and keeps you going for longer, is brill for your colon too :D

Hey.. nooo.... it doesn't have to be that way Mazzers!
Are you like me..? I can be good for however long, then one slip and I'm like 'Oh well, may as well make a pig of myself now' nomnomnomscoffscoffscoff...?
This has to be the biggest, single-most thing that I have to learn to get over. If you're craving something naughty, bloody well have it, then forget about it, and move on. One little mistake does not a disaster have to make!

    Hehe.

I made that cheesy low carb bread. Wow, well impressed! Bit of a struggle not to just scoff the lot, but I'm fighting it.......... :P

Mazzers - thank you so much. the choc nut sounds just right for me.

sweaty betty - are you eating enough fat? are you eating any sugar free sweets or having fizzy drinks as all this can stall you. are you eating too much cheese as some people stall on this.

I've lost a few more pounds. I am not trying to lose but if thats what my body wants, who am i to complain!!!! :p And i dragged out an old jacket from my waldrobe that hubby bought me when i was pregnant with ds1 (7) and i have never been thin enough to wear it. But I am now! :D

Hello - thanks for all the help. I'm definitely not having sugar free sweets or drinks as I think I'd find it too hard to resist the real thing if I still had a taste for it!

In terms of eating too little, or eating too little fat or too much cheese - I had no idea! It's so hard to know how much is the right amount (especially as we're all different). I definitely have 3 meals per day, try to have veg (green veg mainly) with 2 of the 3 meals, and there's usually some fat in each meal. I did give up cheese for a couple of weeks, but it had no impact on my weight, so I've re-introduced it. I've been cutting back on salt, in case that's the problem, but again, no change.

It's frustrating - the only thing keeping me on the low carb path is the impact it's having on my blood sugar (as one of the previous posters said) - it's been the best since I was diagnosed with diabetes, so worth keeping going for that reason alone. Although I really want to shift some more weight. Unfortunately I've recently injured my leg, so I can't even exercise to speed things up...

    Ah well...
