  • Hi everyone, just checking in to see how everybody doing. I'm still plugging away with celebrity slim and having great success. Have had the odd 'bad' day but don't we all?!
  • Doing better on the water now, keep bottle at my desk and a bottle in the kitchen. Sounds weird when there's a tap and glasses there but it makes me keep an eye on exactly how much i've drunk.

Is celebrity slim a milkshake diet? How does it fit in with low carb?

Hi its not amilk shake as such its a powder you mix with water. Its not a low low carb each shake is approx 28 grms of carb. But you only replace 2 meals with them. The advantage is its each to have those than work out what you are going to eat .

esp at breakfast when I cant face meat and I dont eat eggs or baked beans or tomatos.

I find out of all the shake meal replacements out there to be the most tasty and easliy mixed...Its vey similar to slim fast but you use milk to mix those and I hate milk....( dont I sound fussy!!).

I found that you lookforward to you main meal and I took care of what I was cooking after a day of shakes..:j

lushlady Im pleased it was so popular ..its good to keep things interesting to keep on teh straight and narrow ....and hopefully get narrower.....

Love that quote, should be one of those fridge magnets. Yes, I'm aiming for narrower. Getting there with CS so will plod on until i don't have to walk sideways through narrow doorways!
  • Well it has been 9 days on the low carb wagon and I have dropped 8lbs so far...BUT... I had gastro and lost a shed loads of fluids over the weekend so not convinced that I have rehydrated enough yet for this to be accurate.
Has anyone got any advice on what to eat whilst my tummy is recovering? I was told to stick to just toast etc which is no good if low carbing. I have had some lentil soup (no idea how good/bad that was but I was starving lol) and a piece of salmon today but am hungry again now and curious what is best.
    Make £5 per day in August= £100/£155

  • This cold weather don't agree with me that's for sure! CS soup lined up for lunch and a chicken casserole for dinner I think. Got to keep warm brrrrr!
  • Thanks for answering craftygal. The way I see it is that the carbs you have are carefully controlled so that you have good carbs and don't then pig out on things like white bread, rice, pasta etc late in the day or for snacks. I found it difficult for a couple of days as I was so used to eating big carb dinners but it doesn't take long for your body to adjust on the CS plan and I now feel so much healthier as well as losing the weight.

    Hello all

I was just wondering how everyone was getting on over the xmas period?

I've managed to get through it and only put a pound on so I'm really chuffed with myself. I still have a way to go but I'll get there. I'm still losing - albeit a small amount - every day and have started eating more carby foods in moderation, though I'm still avoiding pasta, bread and rice.

    Hope everyone's doing OK xx

sorry if this has been asked before but is there a low carb bread?
I've looked over all the normal stuff, and bought the burgen soya stuff but don't like it much and to be honest only really want a few slices per week so the loaf goes off!
Now bought the little hovis wholemeal loaf as it seems the lowest carb per slice (9?) although this might be because its a tiny size too!
I do still eat a little rice and pasta but tend to keep anything with carbs in it for pre tea time meals only, never in the evening.
I did the meta diet to start off and lost a stone in 15 days straight: gosh it was hard work though! (egg whites and lean meats only with protein shakes).
I do still have pepsi max and the occasional vodka though!

Anyway 5'8 and 16st05 now down to 13st13, aiming for around 12st12 I think as I did get to 12st7 about 4 years ago (cycling 16 miles before breakfast every day!), the motivation that keeps me going is in the better weather I do cycle to work (currently 18 miles round trip and a village lane route: moving soon but still 12 miles at least not so rural though) I also invested (?!) in a decent rowing machine but the spare room is sooooo cold I havent used it much (yes, excuses excuses!: maybe I'll start gently with a 2k later today!)

So, at least in theory, if I can get to the weight I want to maintain I should be able to find my 'carb tolerance level' when I can exercise every day and when I can't also and adjust it to suit?

I did eat a lot of carbs, sweets and beer over xmas: scales indicated 4lbs out on, although that would be impossible in less than a week I think so I may well do another week or so of the very strict no carb diet to see if I can kickstart the loss again!

I miss potatoes, although have none in the house now, enjoy eggs and cheese but it's not a very easy diet, but boy! it works!
The promax shakes at £26+ for 30 servings (argos the cheapest I've found and maximuscle promax chocolate the nicest) aren't very cheap though are they? -any suggestions for a cheaper alternative?
