I read so much about carbs that i started cutting them out in the evening as i'm trying to lose a heap of weight. It doesn't help that i work in a canteen as i have habit of picking and tasting. No more tho, I'm getting strict and i've bought some diet meal bars and that's all i'm letting myself have in the day now. I WILL lose some weight!0

I am sure many people have - what I don't understand is why it is not better publicised and why the NHS and the various diabetes groups don't recommend low carbing and still stick to eating pasta and fruit etc
because for years they have been bleating the low fat high carb diet, which was based on very poor research, and despite the evidence coming in to support a lower carb diet they do not want to admit they may be wrong
same as the nonsense BMI scale they push0 -
Is home made soup ok ? - and is there anything I should leave out of it ?0

I'm a bit fed up of people telling me low carb is dangerous and unhealthy. Just thought I'd share.0

I agree - I eat lots of fish, meat of all colours, eggs and beautiful vegetables and salads, together with a range of healthy oils and limited dairy. I snack on nuts and enjoy one square a day of dark plain chocolate together with an occasional red wine. Yet the general mantra is low carb is unhealthy - doesn't make sense and is very annoying!Downshifted
