can anyone give me lunch time ideas? brekkie and tea is fine but i just cant seem to find nice lunch ideas and im sick of takin a tub of salad with some chicken its so bland it makes me bork0 -
Yup well done Eric. Mind you I've lost about 6lbs in 4 days.
Motivation is amazingly high at the moment because of the full feeling and the mood elevation.
And another thing managed to get 4 meals out of a roast chicken, so MSE too!0 -

Aldi also sell a fab pate which is very low carb, its duck and port and from memory the whole tub is about 3-4g of carbs:)
Aldi Burkenhurst (sp) sausages are also very low carb (1g each) and they are very large and filling:)
Also, instead of biscuits, I used to grill burgers (waitrose own essential brand are 0 carbs £2.19 for 8) and put them in the fridge to cool and then use these instead of biscuits.. very filling and satisfying:)If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

I was shocked when I researched diabetes and found that low carb diets are still not recommended for diabetics in the uk - they seem much more up to date in the US (pains me to say that!) I just don't see the point of eating carbs then taking insulin to cope with it.
I was insulin resistant at the start of the year, 3-4 months of a reduced carb diet and some exercise and my blood sugar profiles are perfect.
Many many people have reversed type II with a low carb diet, weight loss and exercise0 -

i found it easier to loose bigger numbers when I started off, after 166lbs and 41 weeks it gets hard, your body just adjusts to the exercise and reduced cal intake0 -
I've got ME and spend most of my time on the sofa. I need to lose a stone...but it isnt happening because I can't burn it off. I dont eat much and dont get hungry, think the metabolism is just ticking over. You think low carb could help me lose some? Even without exercise?0

Get "The Diet Delusion" from the library - it explains why exercise is not going to help you lose weight - but eating less carbs will
I can't understand why this book has not made more of an impact here - well, I can, it must be all the vested interests in maintaining the current diet industry!Downshifted

Well done :-)
I am sure many people have - what I don't understand is why it is not better publicised and why the NHS and the various diabetes groups don't recommend low carbing and still stick to eating pasta and fruit etcDownshifted
