took 40 mins to get that ammonia smell, but that is after 2 days of no training as well as the increased carb intake
so hopefully 10-15 mins tomorrow, which is fine
which is good as like my oatibix covered in vanilla protein shake breeky0 -
Just a quickie, its cleaning day, I like to get it done before lunch.
I weighed myself this morning and I have lost another 3lbs, not bad going for less than a week, I have lost on average 1lb a day. I expect it will slow down at some point, I have an awful lot to lose. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

So ketosis is a sign that your body's burning energy directly from your fat store then?
When you exercise do you notice that it effects you more than when you had carbs - the reason I ask is I've been doing some exercise bike work while I try this method of eating, and my stamina seems to have gone way down. This is to be expected of course, but speaking as someone who obviously knows what to look for whilst exercising, would you advise to just keep pushing through it?
Anyway, steak and eggs last night, 1 sausage and egg this morning.
I caved and weighted myself this morning, I was 83.6 kilos on monday evening when I effectively started cutting out carbs. This morning I was 79.7 kilos - this looks good on paper, but obviously you're heavier in the evening so that has to be taken into account. Either way, it's a good result for 3 and a half days
And to carry on from the bizzare things that have happened on this diet (all 3.5 days of it lol) I had 8 hours sleep for the first time since I can remember last night. I'm normally a very broken sleeper, waking up at least 2-3 times a night and feeling terrible when I get up. Not last night, 8 hours straight through...0 -
Redman - I am also sleeping quite heavily, although not 8 hours (not possible with a 16 month old who shouts for his mamma at 5.30am ). I did really struggle to drag myself out of bed this morning though...
I have a 2nd birthday party to brave over the weekend...hopefully I can just steer clear of any food (it is 2-5pm) and drink a few glasses of diet coke.
Tomorrow I can have some veggies and salad :Tplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Hehe, a 16 month old would cause issue with a nice long lie in for sure!!
I'm going to try and stay off the veggies/salad for a bit I think (apart from cucumber, I *need* that with my tuna, hehe). I may well be in trouble come Sunday though as I think I might go see my parents, which means a full sunday roast and a glass of vino - that sounds like a reward day to me hehe.
And well done to csarina, a pound a day is pretty damn good, and positive for the rest of us trying this that we're on to a good thing eh.0 -

i found for the first 2 weeks on reduced carbs i felt pretty crap, i just put head down and trained through it
what i find now is i dont have the "energy" that i had before i just cant push as hard especially with the weights, its probably about 80% of what it was, but what i do seam to have is unlimited energy, i could go on all day training but the muscles and joints give outI suspect this is because of the way the body metabolises body fat (takes more oxygen than metabolising glycogen)
recently i managed put myself into starvation mode (nightmare ..) so i needed to up my cal intake and i also needed to reduce the cost of my diet, lean protein is very expensive to keep eating 3 meals a dayhense the oatibix covered in protein shake (extremely cheap protein). I was worried that it would be to many carbs thou.
its put me on 35% carb, 32% protein, 33% fat which i am happy with0 -
Eric, how do you know when you're in starvation mode?0
