no not really, im just choosing to ignore the condition :)

i start medication for it in a couple of weeks, which hopefully will help

That's the way to go! ;)

Still too hot for bacon and eggs so had a chicken thigh (cooked) and some cheese. Am eating out tonight and then away for most of next week for work so hotel dining will be the usual challenge.

Off for a haircut now, then some shopping and then more decluttering.

Hope all is well, getting better or almost better!

    Hello All,

I am hoping some of you guys will be able to help! I basically need to lose about 2/3 stone, i have been through a bad patch lately with my home life, and as such have put on a lot of weight through what I guess is comfort eating and drinking a bit too much!

I have tried the Cambridge Plan, but cannot stomach the shake drinks... I need to actually eat as I enjoy it!

I am thinking that the low carb approach may be the way forward!

Can someone point me to the basics... any hints on what good things to do and some big no-no's?

    Many thanks!

    Hi Mikeyboy,

i`ve just restarted LCing after a time away from it and i`ve just completed my first week and lost 7lb.

I`m doing the Atkins diet and if you can get to a library and borrow it it is a good read and will point you in the right direction.

There are lots of different low carb plans but most of them are very similar. I prefer the atkins myself as the first two weeks are really strict and it stops my crisp and biscuit cravings after a couple of days. This way of eating suits me as i love a big cooked breakfast every morning and i don`t know any other diet that lets you eat this way.

Typical menu for me at the moment is brekkie - scrambled eggs in butter, dinner chunks of cheese and salami and tea - roast chicken with different spices cooked into the portions ie garlic granules, paprika etc. My snacks are pepperami and the odd pork chop :D

I`ve another week of this type of stuff and then i`ll start introducing some low carb veg. I did have cauliflower the last couple of days as i used it as topping for a fish pie instead of potato and it was gorgeous.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Mikeyboy I would suggest looking back at the very first page of this thread as it gives links to three good low carb diets and also lots of recipes.

    Hello everyone

Would it be ok if I joined your thread please?

I started cutting down on my carbs last week. Just generally cut out the things that tend to make me binge, white bread, crisps, chocolate, pasta. But I have decided to go the whole hog and try to cut out all the bad carbs. I am vegetarian so a bit of a struggle but I have been doing a lot of reasearch the last couple of days and have bought a low card vegetarian diet book so am really going to give it a bash.

I want to lose at least stone and try to excercise for at least half an hour every day.

    Thanks all

Hello all - just a quick pop in. Got home last night, emptied bag, washed clothes, had some chicken, went to bed, now up and going away again.

Have been 'good' - no carbs except in my white wine! This morning I had a chicken thigh and two slices of cheese. Got another 2 nights of hotel eating, however the meals won't be a horrid as the ones earlier in the week.

Need to up the water intake now. Just glad that I didn't do that before boarding the little Jetstream airplane  20 seats and no loo!

    Hope everyone is doing well!
