Crikey, tis quiet around here since everyone defected to the "general" thread! I wasn't much of a contributor, but an avid reader and the thread kept me going! (And I usually fell off the wagon at a similar time to Sweets!)
Right! Inspiration needed! I've just started a new job where packed lunches are a must - C'mon you lot - GIMME INSPIRATION!!!
I've managed to concoct a few nice ones so far but need more ideas, please!
Best of the week - chicken caesar salad, nom nom nom! Marinated some butterflied chicken breasts in a little lemon juice then griddled the night before & sliced into bite-size chunks (easily 3 meals from 3 boobs). Made a salad of lettuce, black olives, parmesan shavings and a couple of chopped up anchovies, added the chicken chunks & took to work in a chiller bag with a bottle of ready made dressing to add later. Very swish, very tasty! New work folk very impressed!
Others salads are -
tuna mayo with red onion (no sweetcorn for me - can't stand the popping sensation! And no cucumber - it makes me burp! So scrummy stinky onion it is!)
Chicken & bacon
Gammon
bacon/ gammon & brie
cheese & onion mayo
lemon & rosemary chicken (cheapie thighs / drummers roasted in lemon juice & dried rosemary)
Have a microwave so reheats / freezer stash is another option.
Any other tried & tested / low faff / super tasty ideas??!?!?!0 -
my favs in salad tubs were bacon and brie and chicken and avocado - yum yum yum
what about making crustless quiche or mercys mexican fudge to take in a slab - spanish omelette or tortilla type thing ?:j MFi3 wannabee :j

Morning - trudging through the 'pain'!
There are loads of recipe links on page 1 and I use them, sorry, can't offer anything better as I learnt all I know from there.
Am going to make some carrot and coriander soup today, I really enjoy soups and often crumble crispy bacon into it or some other meat. Iced tomato soup is lovely too.
Have got some chicken thighs for lunch and will probably have some egg mayo salady type thing for evening meal.
Went for a long walk last night, first time for ages, and thoroughly enjoyed it, although it made me fully realise how unfit and fat I am.So it's back on with walking shoes again tonight.
Hope everyone is well.0 -
How about fish? or would that be too smelly.
Remember that Ted Hutchinson was always on about Lidl's cheapie tins of fish and he would have one with salad for lunch every day.
You've got me thinking more positively about salad - especially with olives or avo. Will give it a go this weekend - we've been promised 28 or 29 degrees here in the south....0 -
Blimey - have we all fallen off the wagon?
I've been away for work and will hardly be around next week either  however today I've had some cheese for breakfast! Too hot to cook bacon and eggs and too fat to eat toast.
Still no hot water  but a solution is coming.
Hope everyone is OK.
nope had a bad week last week but was ill and had a procedure that made me sick
going for it all guns this week, ran 3 miles every morning so far :j0 -
Another lovely morning - and the move back onto low carbs is taking effect. :j The desire to overeat and binge is receding!
Already had some cheese and will have some carrot and coriander soup for lunch and then cold cooked chicken with vegs for evening meal.
My energy levels have increased as has my mojo.... :A0 -

What general thread? What did I miss?
I had the usual go away on holiday and completely lose my grip on this thread problem, but I think I've caught up (although I've obviously missed something if everyone has gone somewhere else whilst I was gone).
Two weeks in Greece and I have to admit to falling thoroughly off the wagon, am working my way back to good behavior but boy is it hard in this heat.0 -

Lol, I might have defected to the 'general diet & emotional support' thread on Health & Beauty (there you go, HanSpan) but I'm still reading this thread as well y'know!!
:rotfl:
Morning all :hello:
Feels weird to be posting on here again but it's nice to see everyoneI defected to the other thread because I wasn't lcing but I'm back on the wagon as of last Saturday so will try & post on here as well, if you'll have me?!
Actually, you don't have a choice!!
:rotfl:
I hope everyone is doing ok. I'm feeling very lethargic, combination of lcing, the heat & the usual hormonesbut I'm sticking with it!! I have a family party coming up in a couple of weeks & wanted to lose some of the bloat for that, I've already lost a couple of lbs but my official weigh-in is tomorrow so will see what my first whole week's loss is then.
Anyway, I'll keep popping by, happy days everyone :wave:0 -

And wb to sweet too... (almost got sweet tooth there). Protein rules!0 -
