Hi Libby,
TBH you should not be eating any kind of choc at the moment. Do at least two weeks of pure low carb - choc tends to throw people off. Otherwise sounds great - maybe vary your veg a bit, have salad at lunch and cooked veg at dinner, so that you don't get bored. Welcome adn good luck!0 -
will try and stay off the choc(!).
another mistake today - lesson learned about readin labels before you eat!, had blackpudding for lunch, with tomatoes and mushrooms, black pudding is 16g carb.

still, lamb chops for tea, don't know what with yet, maybe more salad, luckily I love the stuff.

I just got this from teh Vegetarian Soc website. It has confused me regarding carbs and soy beans - they seem to be high. Can anyone explain?

The nutritional breakdown of soya is per 100g of dried beans: 34.1g protein, 17.7g fat, 28.6g carbohydrate, 8.4mg iron and 226mg calcium. Dried soya beans are lengthy to prepare because they need at least 12 hours soaking and 4 hours cooking time, boiling for the first hour, but nowadays a large number of soya based foods including tofu, tempeh and textured vegetable protein (soya mince or chunks) are available.[/SIZE][/FONT]0 -

the food dr ones are 15.9g of carb, probably as they come form the 3% of soy beans on the planet that are not GM

i started to follow atkins in april and i loved it, it really worked for me and my digestive system more than anything and made me feel great. i lost weight also but it is hard to follow at times as work and everyday life gets in the way and you do have to prepare.
i am a massive believer in low carb way of eating,
i still follow it loosely but not as strict as i was.0 -
I've only just discovered the Food Dr soya nuts recently too - scrummy but difficult to eat too many (they're really dry). I can only eat about 10 beans max!
I picked mine up from Home Bargains. For a 50g bag it was 29p! :money:
Holland & Barrett have the various Food Dr tubs which are quite expensive but they currently have their "Buy One Get One Half Price" offer on the whole shop.0 -
aaargh! have fallen off the wagon at the usual mealtime - breakfasts!!!
am going shopping today to see if anything catches my eye - I might even have to resort to taking out a mortgage and buying Atkins bars.
trouble in my house is if I do myself eggs, sausages bacon or the such like, I then have flaming whining kids moaning its not fair mummy gets nice breakfast while they are made to eat weetabix!

Morrisons had a whole new display when i went yesterday, lots of food doctor stuff.
Can`t remember the prices but when they have offers on it may be a good source.

I've been away for work and will hardly be around next week either :eek: however today I've had some cheese for breakfast! Too hot to cook bacon and eggs and too fat to eat toast.
Still no hot water :mad: but a solution is coming.
