Eric, your link to netdoctor is giving old information as the latest NICE 2010 guidlines for type 2 diabetics is:

    Fasting (waking) between 4 - 7 mmol/l. 2 hrs after meals, no more than 8.5 mmol/l.

For non-diabetics the range is normally quoted as 4-6 even after eating.

big thanks, did not know the figures had been revised, do you have a link to up to date details ?

Glad I came on here today, as late I've been very bad, I got out ofthe habit of low carbing, and let things slide, I think its because I got lazy and started using a lot of ready meals, I feel very guilty as its not just me who has put on weight but my husband, who's weight has really balooned, he is a driver so does'nt get much exercise, so I am going to do a weekly meal plan from the great recipies I have seen here, and the links. Thankyou Sue ps my signature is not right now but too scared to weigh myself

If you go to www.lowcarbdiabetes.com and then put Nice 2010 in the search bar then this should bring up discussions and references.

I cheat and let the experts on there do the research, really nice friendly and informative bunch they are too.

I definitely think that I do better on the weeks that I write a menu plan, plus it makes shopping easier.
