    Hi again,

After a disasterous week 2, week 3 is much better. I have pretty much stuck to phase 1 but today had three strawberries and they were delicious!

I am so craving sweetness, its almost unbearable. I am thinking of having the old greek yogurt and berries for a meal tomorrow (problem is I am used to have a squirt of honey too!)

I am also is a great mood weight now at 13.1/2lb - that 1/2 stone off and hopefully tomorrow I will be below 13 st which makes me happy girlie!

    Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

I have had my famous "protein porridge" this morning. It does contain oats along with dessicated coconut, wheatgerm and protein powder... but I did an hour intensive workout in the park this morning and was feeling really dizzy again so I think I needed the slow-release carbs.

    No more today!

Sarah if your about can I ask you a couple of questions? You metioned in a previous post that I can expect headaches when starting out, why is this? and what can I do if anything to stop them? Also what supplemets should I be taking atm I'm having Vitamin D, EPO, Potassium, l-lysine and l-tyrosine, I am loosing but feel rubbish is there something else I need? One last thing I saw on your post yesterday that you said you need to have a lot of nibbles around, such as what? Sorry for all the questions:oI really appreciate any help:)

The last few days have been okayish,I too am really craving sweet things.
Have been eating very well, actually I can't stop eating.:(

Am trying to limit the damage by keepimg to low carb food though lots of low carb must end up being high carb..no?

I keep reading that taking coconut oil helps with low carbing, does anybody here take coconut oil and does it help you?

    Hi Glowgirl,

The headaches come because you are going cold turkey from sugar (and possibly caffeine too if you're cutting that out). Sugar is a hideous addictive substance and it's so pervasive in our food we have no idea hwo much we are addicted to it until we try to detox. It's like crack! The headaches (and lethargy) should have gone by about day five though it varies from person to person. Some people get 'heavy legs' too, where you feel exhausted byt he time you get to the top of the stairs. This too passes. I would just take some pills and keep your water intake up and get lots of sleep. The vitamins recommended in IPD don't actually include any of the ones you mention, so I can't comment on that, but they do include Vitamin b, a good general multivit (without iron), Co-enzyme Q10 (this is optional, some people swear it helps them feel better/lose faster, I never noticed any difference), Vit C if you're a smoker, psyllium husks (2 per day) to help with constipation. There might be another one but I can't b ring it to mind right now.

Nibbles - read through the earlier part of the thread for ideas, but things like brazil nuts, almonds (or macadamia - they're lowest carb), babybel cheese (take it easy with this), chopped up cucumber and salami - that kind of thing.

    Hope that helps!

Yeah - low carb can be a serious drain to begin with. But that's kind of the point - you're retraining your body to find its fuel differently.

Ranita, I like your theory, but you're bound to feel full at some point! :)

P.S. I've carried on being good with eating... last night everyone was tucking into the Pringles but I just had nothing even though I was pretty hungry. I waited until I got home and had a protein shake.

But yesterday was a very long day - out of the house by 6am to exercise, work all day, 3-mile bike ride and then play rehearsals, so I finally got home at midnight. So I was pretty tired this morning and had a lie-in until 8am - no time for any serious exercise before work :( I'll make up for it with extra pole-dancing tonight!

Tomorrow's my "diet day off" because I've been hired to paint faces at a Vegetarian Food Festival in Cardiff, so I'm going to allow myself to sample the foods there (a rare opportunity). However, I certainly don't plan to go crazy...
