It's the carb I need for energy though. (I'm not hungry so I don't need to eat because I'm struggling...I just need to provide a source of energy iyswim.)

Ah well, bran flakes are better than a plate of chips
but not as tasty!
I made five fresh pasta sauces out of 30p worth of tomatoes, 10p worth of fresh basil, some oil, garlic and an onion :j

Evening all, haven't been on here for ages. Hows everyone? Diet has completely gone to pot long time ago for me. Want to start again tomorrow. Have filled the fridge up as much as i could with low carb foods. Just wanted to ask about sweetener, what does everyone use? i have splenda in the cupboard but im not very keen on the taste. Is honey allowed at all? I really like drinking fruit herbal tea with a tsp of honey *eek* i know its not that great for you but i figure its alot better than having fizzy drinks. Any advice please? thanks all x0

Honey has about 4-5g carbs per teaspoon, so it would soon add up.
For diabetic purposes though, the largest carbohydrate in honey is fructose which is transported very slowly in the blood stream and does not stimulate the secretion of insulin.. allegedly0 -

Best of luck with your restart Focus. I know what you mean about Splenda, I don't like it either. Is it for cooking you want the sweetener or just in drinks? I've weaned myself off sweeteners in tea but still have in coffee as I drink it black. Hermesetas or Canderel don't taste too bad. Honey is really high carb unfortunately, not as high as pure sugar per 100g but still unfeasible probably, not sure what a teaspoon of honey equates to carb wise, I know sugar is around 5g per tsp but honey's denser and heavier so you get less for your 100g weight if you see what I mean. I'd love to find something I can use in cooking that doesn't taste of sweetener or upset my tum if you have to much cos I want to make some chocolate mousse as a treat.

Morning :hello:
Yaay, the nut-fiend focus is backGood luck with starting back on lc.
alias, hope you feeling better energy-wise today, up to climbing a mountain??
I had crispbreads last night, first time in ages & I did enjoy them, but probably not as much as when I was lcing. Think I really appreciated the crunch before, whereas that's not so much of an issue with low-gi, iykwim??
Think I'll make soup today, haven't had any for a few days & it's bloomin' cold enough for it weather-wise!!
Happy Saturday everyone :wave:0
