Ive been looking at low carb bread / rolls from the low carb megastore, has anyone tried them? They dont seem very MSE but im craving bread!
Thanks
Angie
I've not tried them, but i do make my own, you need gluten though from lcmegastore, and as you said, not very MSE, especially the postage, so maybe its worth just buying some and freezing it,
Alias, well impressed, i think i could maybe manage 2 miles at most0 -

Almond flour is just ground almonds, and flax is ground flax seeds, ground flax can go rancid so i buy the seeds and grind my own as the seeds will keep for ages (forever probably)

made me own burgers last night, need to chop the onions very very fine next time, the rapeseed oil was a perfect binding agent they actually kept there shape, added dried provencal herbs and tbh the flavour was only 5/10 at best
any tips on making the taste better?0 -
Add chips?
Sorry, just kidding.I've seen someone add a very small amount of worcester sauce to help the flavour but I have no idea what the carb count would be for that as I don't have any to check the bottle.

Yep, use a fattier mince instead of lean meat and artificial oil - what you got against natural fats out of interest? Bought burgers have a lot of extras added. If the onion is too chunky you could always grate it into the mix (makes your eyes water mind), my mum had to do this when we were kids as my brother didn't like onion (well thought he didn't). Were your herbs new? Only they lose their flavour after a little while. Did you add salt and pepper?
Other things you could add....
Chillies and cumin/coriander
blue cheese
minced smoked bacon
a beef oxo
tomato puree
garlic
mustard or horseradish
chopped mint and leek (with lamb mince)
jerk seasoning with pork mince
Oyster sauce or soy sauce
chinese five spice with some garlic and ginger
Hubby makes chicken ones with thai seasonings for our summer barbeques.

of course i had chips, actually 50% potato and 50% sweet potato chips about 450g in total, still keeps me under 30% daily carb intake0
