  • Where is everyone today?! I was hoping to have something to read when I came home. I don't mind what it is you know, it can be inane ramblings, I don't mind as long as it's something!! :rotfl:

Oh well, I'll just talk to myself :D

I've just come back absolutely starving (feel the need to emphasise that to show just how hungry I am) & am now [STRIKE]stuffing my face as fast as I can[/STRIKE] eating my lunch. Left it far too late between meals & I was starting to get a bit agitated & desperate for food!! :o Wondering if it's a blood sugar thing or just me being a piglet??

Anyway, I need a drink!! Would love an ice-cold lager but I'll have to settle for a coffee :(

C'mon peeps, get posting will ya?! :p

    :wave:Hello
I Just wanted to stop by and say hiya:wave:.
I'm starting the Atkins diet tomorrow so if you all don't mind I may be around asking questions as they crop up.
    A couple of things I can't seem to find a straight answer for are;
    Can I have tea/coffee?
Are sausages allowed during induction (also chorizo, salami etc which i love)?
What are the ketosis sticks you all speak of..do you think these are essential?
Im 29 and have about 2 stones to lose. I love to read about what you've all been eating so will post my daily plan too if thats ok??
Thanks for all the info I've gleamed so far and the funny posts!
If theres anything you think I need to know please feel free
    :jExcited for tomorrow:j

Inane ramblings are my speciality Sweet. Allow me.

So I've had the opposite day to you - for some reason I'm not hugnry at all. This is deeply unusual. Normally food rules me. I think it's these sachets finally kicking in. I had my 'breakfast', which was allegedly a pancake with chocolate spread (it tasted like rolled up egg with fake chocolate on it. Nice) at 8.15. An '''''''orange''''''' drink at 11.30, which I had to remind myself to take as I wasn't hungry. Then I went to yoga at 1.30, came back and had lunch at 2.45 (''''''soup''''' and a salad) and am sitting here amazed that at 3.30 I still feel fine despite being on this 700 calorie a day regime. I guess it really must balance the blood sugar just right, which is wht they claim it does.
Also allegedly it doesn't do that thing that low calorie diets often do, where they reduce your resting metabolic rate to something crazy because your body gets used to eating such small amounts. Allegedly, anyway.

So that's me. I've now got to fit in another sachet snack and dinner with some sort of veg. Exciting life that I have. We're having a barbecue over the bank holiday with the family of one of my son's friends, so that will be a challenge, trying to eat 'normally' while hiding what I'm really eating (trying to do this secretly as I can't bear all the judgement; you know, same sort of thing you get with low carb).

    *waves* hello :)

tea/coffee - decaffinated and no milk or sugar
cream in coffee and lemon or nothing in tea

sausages - depends on the carbs - look at the labels normally high meat content ones with no added fillers or rusk
salami and chorizo should be fine but again check your labels for ingredients

ketostix - up to you really not essential just tell you when you are burning fat - in ketosis
some ppl like them to prove its working some ppl they never show a reading on
once started you will get to read your body and recognise when you are in ketosis - more energetic and postive funny taste in the mouth etc etc

    hi all :)

was away for the weekend and fell straight back into bad habits - well it would be rude not to take advantage of the lovely restaurant !!

downside is i only need to look at a slice of bread to get a preggers belly - so not fair !!

its all just so boring really .......why is food such a comfort ??

Well I've had a mixed day today. It's been productive (got on with the plasterboard taping and filling) but I've been a bit fed up all day. OH was off work and bailed out for the day and I kinda feel a wee bit 'left behind' iyswim. We can have conversations about what to have for tea, but anything personal...forget it, I just get blanked. Tis all just weighing heavy today.

Not to worry...there's always wine, lol.

How's that for inane rambling sweet? :D Do I pass? Can I stay? :rotfl:

If I come in here every day, will you guys get me motivated?

I have low carbed successfully previously, and didn't think I'd ever put it back on, then I had another baby, I maintained a good weight during pregnancy, ended up a llittle lighter than prior to pregnancy following a bad post natal period, but now I'm a looking a little lardy ~ 2 stone lardy in fact. It's the biscuits and nibbles, not to mention the toast and jam, pasta etc.

I know I can do it, I just need some encouragement to get my willpower levels up.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

    Evening guys

i`ve been a bit norty :o just had beans on toast for tea  this is the second day running that i`ve arrived home to no water on and its really peeing me off.

Its back on now but too late and i really don`t feel comfortable washing salady bits and pieces in it.

It was still off late last night so i succumbed to a kebab which wasn`t too bad. Tried to choose a meaty option although i know that it was still not very good. The thing is i didn`t even enjoy it!

After tomorrow we will have workmen in the kitchen so tomorrow i really need to get everything prepped up and in the fridge or i shall be off the wagon big style.

Hi to gravity tolls & ellas

Hope to be a bit more focussed soon, i`m absolutely shattered and sick of work atm, can`t wait for a day off cos i get a lie in until about half six before the workmen arrive :D

I look forward to the inane ramblings too :)

Had a cooking day today, and have scoffed lots of it, also been eating loads of sweets of late :o

I need to get my act together.

Went to get my car tax sorted and had a mosey in poundland, was chuffed to see lots of these, hardback too! (for a quid obviously)

some nice recipes, so if anyones got a poundland near them, go have a lookie.

Ella, i have milk in tea when low carbing, ( which i'm not atm, but will be soon ) i get the channel island stuff as you use less coz its soo creamy, i dont use much but i refuse to give up my milk in tea!
It stalls some people but i still lose when having it.

I also dont do induction, far too strict.

The ketostix are motivating but unnecessary, i bought some and read a tip to cut them down the middle so they last twice as long, took ages but a good idea, trouble is, i left the lid off the container and they were ruined :rotfl:

edited to say it was this book
