I love you lot too.
I do. I like how we get a mix of goodies and baddies, it keeps things fresh.:rotfl:And whilst I don't like when peeps are having bad times (just cos I feel bad for them), I like that we can all post here and moan about them, it makes us more human and 'real' iyswim.
Well I'm going to try to get back on the wagon today! Yay! Cue all manner of fanfares! (I weighed myself this morning and I've put on half a stone) I need to get a grip before the rest of the lost pounds wonder where their mates are and follow them home.
I'm on a huge downer right now and have been for a few weeks, food and alcohol are literally the only things that bring me any comfort or joy (comfort and joy, oh good tidings of comfort and joy.... trah lah lah....sorry, went off on one there. :rotfl:). Anyway, I don't honestly know what to do about that but I do know that the food and booze isn't just giving me the warm and fuzzies, it's a double edged sword cos it's making me even more depressed due to the fat that's going back on.
Why God couldn't have given me a 'normal' life amongst normal people, I do not know. I will be having words with his good self when we finally catch up. (Assuming I wont be wearing red and have to carry a pointy fork thing that is.) Does anyone remember Soap? The US sitcom from years ago where the bloke (Bert?) used to click his fingers and pretend he vanished every time his family were getting to him? Well I might give that a go rather than reaching for the crisps or cider and black. :rotfl:
I am about to go climb a local [STRIKE]mountain[/STRIKE] hill shortly. It takes about an hour for an average person to get up it and some bits are pretty steep so I may not see you until tonight.Have a good day everyone.
(I will take a packed lunch consisting of chicken and lettuce I think.)

its been about a week since i switched to a lower carb diet (from about 50% to 33% intake) and the first weeks results (diet week 15) where extremely good, im not going for the full nutter avoid carbs, I carb load with fruit before each training session in the morning and im not giving up my chips at night
although all refined carbs are gone (well 95% of refined carbs went from day 1 tbh)
however i noticed today about 30 mins into my treadmill session that i had a vile taste in my mouth, which is the first time for this
how comes?0 -
Morning peeps
Mazzers - Hope that you are ok!
Daisy - ((((HUGS))))
Alias - My dinner will be chicken & lettuce too
Just polished off my brekkie of bacon & scramblies with some mushrooms and whoopsied sausages and tea will be smoked pepperd mackerel with more salad i think. Strawbs & cream will also feature somewhere along the way.
Got weighed this morning and i`ve lost one of the pounds that has crept back on. I need to drop another four to get to a round stone in weight and then hopefully i shall drop below the 15st mark and start to feel better again.
Just changed my plans for the morning and i`m waiting for a friend to call round so that we can have a natter over a cuppa so i`m looking forward to that. Gardening later. I lead an exciting life on my days off :rotfl:
Eric - When the body goes into ketosis it can make the breath horrible for a short while. Think that this maybe explains the nasty taste. Hopefully someone else can confirm this later. Don`t worry - it doesn`t last
Happy dieting peeps.
Oh and if this thread gets all serious then i`m off, i love all the banter which comes with the support, thats what encourages me to diet! i`m useless on my ownMaybe there could be a "no banter ultra serious low carb" thread too. I know which one i shall be taking part in!

Most of us have lots of things we are dealing with and there is a limit to how many things you can deal with at the one time. Another thing is although we don't want to remain heavy it is often difficult to deal with change and are we confident enough to deal with a new us.
Morning all :hello:
I thought Always was referring to the 'invasion of the negatives' a few pages back, not the madcap banter that keeps this thread going
Always, I hope you don't disappear from the thread, I really like your posts, I especially liked the one quoted above.
I love this threadI don't think any of the regulars need to apologise, we all have our ups & downs & it's nice to be able to share them with peeps on here.
I was supposed to start back low-giing today but made the cardinal sin of going shopping on an empty stomach!! I do still intend making a big low-gi chilli today but I'll portion it up for the freezer methinks, when I'm not being sensible I don't see the point of eating sensible food iyswim??
Anyway, I'd better go & eat my chicken & lettuce :rotfl: See ya later folks

hard to get my head around this very complex procedure
it defiantly tasted like acetone, i though that at the time
is it dangerous?
will the body be consuming muscle during this time or just fat?0 -

Hi Glowgirl just checked my carb counter for you and evaporated milk has 3.5 g per 2 tbs, whereas double cream has 0.8g per 2 tbs. If you drink an obscene amount of coffee (like me :rotfl:) then this will add up.Your Beliefs Determine The Actions You Take...Live with Passion0 -
Thank you Louise, thats really helpful, even if its not what I wanted to hear;) You have a carb counter? I want one:D Could you let me know where you got it? Maybe thats my problem that I guess too much and don't really know what I'm doing, I just follow my own Atkins version, I have lost loads of weight (and put some back on at one point) but it seems slower and slower and I seem to be eating less and less, thanks for the reply:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Hi Eric, if i remember correctly this is when the body starts to burn fat.
Without digging out my books and doing some reading though i`m not 100%
sure.
Hopefully someone with a better memory than mine will come along soon who can answer more confidently than me:rotfl::rotfl:

Well I've just earned my lunch I think.......
That's the view from the top of the [STRIKE]mountain[/STRIKE] hill.
Those are oil rigs in the distance so it shows how high I was.
My butt muscles are in tears. :rotfl: It was sunny all the way up, then it was snowing lightly at the top. By the time I got down, it was raining.
I'm off to have my omelette now.Herman - MP for all!0
