Hi all - I wonder if I can join you.

I've been on Atkins since the 8th January, and have lost 26lbs.

I got a bit pee'd off with it last week, and came off it Fri/Sat/Sun and ate normally!! Was expecting the worst when I weighed myself this morning, but was really pleased that I had actually still lost 1lb.

There are so many paged on this thread, that I'm just going to go back and read the last few pages.

Hope all of you weighing in today get a good result.

    Hi emiliah, you've done brill.
This is more of a confessions thread atm :D

Maybe you can give us some encouragement :)
  • Just when I think I've decided not to do low-carb any more, this comes along:

    Tis new, improved Atkins.

Very fed up, not only have I stuck at the same weight for weeks, this morning I have put a pound on. I haven't even been cheating. Black mood today, think I'll just go back to bed.

Hi emiliah and very well done.

  • Alias, read the Daily Mail article for 'thinspiration' (god I hate that term, why did I just use it?! :rotfl:) you can lose a stone in 2 weeks, allegedly

Just had my breakfast, bacon and scrambled egg. I use quite a lot of bacon on Atkins, which is fairly expensive at our local shop £2.99 for 6/8 slices, so when I was in Lidl last weekend bought a kilo pack of their cooking bacon £2.00!!

Have just opened it this morning and it is fab. A mixture of back and streaky rashers - obviously they don't look 'perfect' but who cares if it's just for yourself.

Will definitely be buying this in the future.

That's a really good price emiliah. I wont be needing bacon today though....I've just had cornflakes! :(

  • Well, I've had a big long think over the weekend & I'm pretty much decided on trying a low-gi WOE.

Had a big wake-up call yesterday when I measured my waistline!!
I've always considered myself to be hour-glass shape but apparently I'm not, I'm an apple!! :( My waist measurement was a good few inches more than I thought it was so I'm a prime candidate for diabetes, heart disease etc. :(
Btw, this is after over a year of yo-yo lcing & having lost 19lbs (from starting last year & getting weighed this morning), so god knows what my waist measured before that!! _pale_

So, the plan is to try low-gi for at least 4 weeks & see how I go. I'm going to try & walk briskly for at least an hour every day as well to help tone up the flab & get those feel-good hormones pumping around my chubby little body!! :rotfl:

The low-gi WOE is just part of my new strategy for improving my life. I'm also going to:

    * give up my 'day job' - it's making me stressed & depressed
    * start an OU course (courtesy of Tesco clubcard ;))
    * book a holiday to France!!

Apologies for the big long post, but I have to get my 'fix' before I leave you!! Will keep popping in (just try & stop me!! :p) but I won't post very often from now on.

Lots of love to my low-carb friends :kisses3:

Hi peeps, i'm in a bad mood too.

Middle son complained so much about helping with the blind yesterday that i told him to eff off and did it myself, awkward drilling and all!
Then, they used almost all the gravy and kept a dribble for me and eldest boy.

Also, the cordless is not working as middle one tipped a drink all over it as he was pi$$ing about, so it has been slammed into the bin in temper icon8.gif

Finally, as soon as eldest got in the car the arguments started ( offered him money to get beers as he was skint, but he said no, he'd have a night off and as soon as we got home he was nagging and nagging for beers.. honest! ) the arguments have continued so i am in my room and they can all ferk off.

.......... but I won't post very often from now on.

 Would it help if I threw myself on the floor and wailed?

Glad you're doing positive things but I don't like all these changes. :( Can't you just hang about like a bad smell anyway? :D
