    I'm starving!!

    .
See, that's what I remember from all other diets apart from low carb. I think it's that, despite any annoyances I have with lc, that will stop me from going back to any other system. HATE being hungry.

No, it's not right, more like 90g per day, couldnt find the calculator that sistercas mentioned, so worked it out myself, but think it was 1g for every kg of weight, not 0.1, although some say 0.8-1.8 depending on activity.. in my case, none :D

I found it in the article CDR posted heres a link ( i hope)

Me too now that i'm taking this woe seriously I have not been hungry at all (I am normally a very greedy girl and can eat for Britain) I have lost 8lbs since starting atkins last Monday making me 12st now-my first milestone. I have started having a glass of red wine with my tea so that will possibly slow me down and not allowed on induction, but I know me and to quote Dorcas on Larkrise to candlford "Its my one weakness" and may quite possible give up with not having a nice glass of merlot to look forward to each evening. I think you have to see what works for you, if I put weight on I will give this up. I have actully saved money too to answer a previous posters comment on how this woe is expensive. I roast a full tray of basics chicken legs cool then freeze individually. My local bargain freezer shops have cheap frozen fish like the smoked haddock where I get mine. Mr A shops have own brand tinned mackeral for lunches tried sardines but the cat got them ugh! and theres always eggs. I wanted some crunch for a snack today so made some cheese crisps by following the parmesan crisp recipie. I nuked wafer thin cheddar slices on a plate in micro waited till they cooled and got stuck in mmmmmmmmmmm. Wishing every one a good evening and heres another famous quote "JUST DO IT":j
”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
    Put on some lipstick
    and pull yourself together”

That can't be right, sistercas. The lowest amount I found when I was googling was 64g protein a day for women. I am going to investigate further....

    B: scrambled eggs
L: goats cheese wrapped in bacon on a bed of rocket (that sounds well posh!)
D: baked trout with herbs, broccoli, cauliflower
    Snacks: babybel, brazil nuts
  • Don't know if this will be of use to anyone, but I've been looking at the Diabetes.co.uk website & they have a blood sugar converter:

    http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-sugar-converter.html

Lots of info on blood sugars on the site, I'm going to have a good read of it now.

Oh wow, just found a whole section on low-carbing for diabetics:

    http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diet/low-carb-diabetes-diet.html

ETA info about lcing & blood sugars when diabetic:

Carbohydrates are recognised as one of the fundamental influences on blood sugar levels, and many people with diabetes find that eating a low-carbohydrate diabetes diet helps them to control blood sugar better than other diet types, including those currently (2010) recommended by the National Health Service.

I have found that low carb diet does wonders to my well being. I suffer from MS and was barely able to walk just 6 months ago. Now I can walk already fairly well for little distances.
I'm not sure if thanking only the diet is the correct choice, but I believe it has helped. I recommend for everyone. And for a little more everyday examples, my wife has gotten a lot more energetic thanks to this diet. :)

    Hope the improvements continue.

    Evening!

My birthday was whilst I was away overseas.. and I got a Tim Minchin show in Melbourne as a present. Wasn't I lucky? It was his last 'Are you Ready for This' show and totally wonderful.

Well, my LC continues. Will look at the microwave griddle thingy, just now I cook the bacon slowly if I want it crispy. Only deviation is a glass of wine at night but I'm suffering from withdrawal from caffeine/carbs which got consumed during my trip. Will be OK soon. :j

Am away the rest of this week and most of next so have stocked the car up with pepperamis and mini cheeses and will work out carb free hotel meals.

Got a book from Amazon 'One Pot Meal' for the cheap price of £1.79 and am happily picking out the low carb stuff from it and those which include pasta/rice/potatoes and recalibrating them. It's got some lovely recipes in there though I seem to be doing well with stir fried veggies + meat + cream based sauce on salad leaves at the moment. Just looking forward to spring lamb coming into the shops. Got some FAB lambs liver from the North Acomb Farm Shop on Saturday which is waiting for me in the freezer for when I get back.

Weekend will be spent in Weegie land :j first time since early Feb so am really looking forward to that. :j

Keep the PMA up folks... negativity breeds negativy just as positivity breeds positivity!

Morning - I feel like a pair of bookends here!

Had my bacon and egg 'muffin' and already feel full. Am gradually getting rid of the carb/sugar addiction gained during my hols. :j

Won't be around much now until next week so hope that everyone is out of the rut and onto the track.
