Lol AH, he's a bloke. Blokes on the whole don't do the whole tlc bit like we do. :D

I do think his intentions were well meant though so try not to feel annoyed, he was trying to help. Throw a peanut at the screen...it will make you feel better. :D Then you can pick it up and eat it, double fun. :rotfl:

Well I didn't have an omelette this morning after all. I had 2 bits of steak and 2 fried eggs. I think the steak takes longer to digest than 'just' eggs or bacon and it makes me feel fuller for longer so it's good to have after an 'eating' day (or 2 in my case :o).

I went to Morrisons and bought some white fish and I'm going to have it for dinner with a cheese sauce and maybe some leeks if they're not tyre-like by now. (Rubbery).

some one posted a link on here to do with (and I am sorry because of my seive brain I cant remember who it was) that is takes more calories to burn fat... and there was the data to support that.
I agree with Mazzers..I think you end up not eating so much because protein keeps you fuller for longer...
I have always thought that low carbing would be a great diet for men as they can eat meat rather than salad etc.
Sadly there is so much mistrust of low carb...from myths and here say from people who have not done the diet properly and looking into the loads of articles and reserch .
There is an old saying ..for those who belive ....you dont have to convince. or some thing like that......I really should plug my brain in.... before I post.
I found the support and knowledge on here so valuable...
so thanks my lovely low carbers..

Today my eats have been a pepparami for breakfast, a spicy chicken wing for snack, scrambled eggs and ham on 2 GG crispbreads for lunch (swifly followed by a celery stick filled with dairylea, 2 more spicy chicken wings and another pepparami!!!! :D )

Tea will be….. announced later as I don’t know what to have! I don’t think I could face chicken again!! I might have burger, egg and BNS chips…mmmm! I might even try the chips on a pizza plate thingy (you know, the tray pizza’s cook on with the holes!) and see if that helps to stop the chips being soggy!

Oh, and I also need to remember to get some ground almonds so I can make snickerdoodles!!!

Any ideas what I can use as pretend noodles/spaghetti?!?!?!
  • instead of noodles - courgette ribbons, cabbage or spaghetti squash (if you can find one - Waitrose sometimes have them).

As well as using BNS for chips, celeriac is another good substitute.

Can I just ask what snickerdoodles are? :rotfl:

Southern scouser, I agreed with your post until about halfway through when I realised you'd not taken on board that we are low carbers :D.

We eat lots of fats here (both good and bad as you call them), we don't count calories cos thats the beauty of low carb, and we believe not all calories are created equal if you see what I mean :). We do try not to overeat altho it doing low carbpretty much does that for you. Thanks for you advice though, you are right it is impirtant for us to eat enough and not skip meals.

lol!!! snickerdoodles are cookies!! I always thought they were american but after a quick google turns out they are possibly German!! they work out to be 1.5carbs per cookie.

I put the recipe on here the other day (and I still havent made any yet!!!!!)

great Idea for the corgette ribbons! I always thought that spagetti squash was mid-high carb?!?!

Ahhh thought it was some sort of low carb version of a snickers LOL!

I haven't posted for a very long time and actually don't know many of you any more! Hello to those I do :)

I now have five small meals a day, or six on a "workout day" when I see a personal trainer at my gym. Each meal is high in protein and mostly very low in carbs (the exception is porridge with whey protein mixed into it on a workout day).

I started the new program in early February and have so far lost 17lbs despite building muscle. I'm now a shapely size 12 again (I'm 5'7") and the lightest I've weighed since childhood. I still need to lose some wobbles round by hips / lower abs, and would like to further slim and tone my upper arms, but that will definitely come

    Today's meals as an example:
8am Chocolate protein porridge with blueberries
11am (after a workout) Mega Pro50 bar and an apple
1pm Spicy scrambled tofu and leek
3pm Homemade protein biscuits and a plum
5pm Quorn fillets with homemade pesto and pinenuts, side salad
7pm Total 0% yoghurt and raspberries

All the portions are fairly small, but the regularity of them stops me feeling hungry or losing metabolism  The idea is to keep the carbs and fats to the morning, and go purely protein in the afternoon (well, apart from the natural carbs in fruit and veg). I also drink more than two litres of tapwater each day, plus I sometimes treat myself to cranberry juice.

The best bit: each week I have a day off! My personal trainer actually recommended it - I have one day where I can go out for a meal, drink cocktails, nosh on chocolate... the theory is that each week my diet "restarts", plus I can easily stick to it because my next day off is never too far away. And I've got to say, it seems to work - since starting, I haven't had a single week of static or increased weight, just steady weightloss.

Anyway, sorry to blather on about myself! Hope everyone else is positive too

It works out about the same as BNS, possibly slightly lower, but not as dense so you might get a bit more for your 100gms. It's lush with butter and black pepper.

Can I just ask who recommended you eat loads of protein and low-carb/low-fat? As this can be pretty dangerous long-term. Sorry to be a downer as you're clearly losing weight and feeling good about it, but I worry that it's not the healthiest way to do it.
