Hi CWR - it's not low carb and low fat, I still have my porridge and oils but I keep them to the morning. That way I have sufficient energy to do my workouts and live out my day, but don't have any excess overnight.

As said, I am still getting natural carbs anyway from fruit / veg.

It's a change from the purely low-carb diet that I was on last year (when I was a regular on this thread!) but it's being more effective for me

 Yoo hoo Badger, glad to hear you're still hale and hearty. Still loads of the same old faces around here as well as this year's new intake. :D

How's your pole...is it still on the go? :D

I wouldn't mind a personal trainer but the embarrassment of not being able to do what he said would kill me I think. Is your's fit? :D

Aliasojo! I like your new signature

The pole's still in situ but I have to admit it's been less used lately. I don't spend that much time at home since my new job and, well, there's a bunch of boxes in that room at the moment :rotfl:. But it will come out again!

My first personal trainer was a tiny little woman, who was really good and got me into a routine. She even made me cry with physical pain a couple of times, which she assured me was for my own good.

But then the gym opposite my office offered a half-price deal so I do now have an extremely fit (if short, lol!) man. He's obsessed with exercise balls and vibro-plates, but they actually seem to work without the tears... and he only demands stuff that I can do.

Ohhhhhh that looks good. I could buy one to add to my exercise machine collection in the shed. :rotfl:

    (Btw...the one I saw was £349! :rotfl:)

What do you do on it? *confused*

There are three types of exercise he makes me do:

    1. Stretch and tone - so you sort of stand on it doing a funny pose and it wobbles you for thirty seconds so you sound like a Dalek if you try and talk. My favourite is where you stand on it, hold onto the bars and stick your bum out as far as you can with your head still upright.

    2. Resistance - for example, doing a "plank" with your elbows on the machine, or holding onto some pulleys and trying to lift the machine up. Apparently the vibrations make these much more effective, something about "the equivalent of doing 30 pushups a second".

    3. Sports massage - he pops me on at the end so I lie down in different positions to massage my muscles instead of conventional stretching-down.

I've got no idea whether the home ones are as good. I like that link above because you can save a whole £6 on your ten grand investment! :rotfl:

I could do those things. :rotfl:

Hi Badger, glad your new regime is working. Hows your mum?

I've been eyeing up vibro plates for at least a year, found some really good sites but just cant justify spending on things i wont use anymore, i think mine would just jiggle the tiles off the conservatory floor and then become obsolete, but i really want one ;)

BTW badger, your food is still a bit alien to me :rotfl:
