Afternoon all,
In my quest to get away from the evil aspartame  I spent an hour browsing the drinks shelves at Tesco the other night....prob thought I was a right wierdo reading all the labels :rotfl:
Aspartame was in every 'diet' version of soft drinks & squashes, apart from the mixers in the boozey aisle. Tescos own diet versions of Bitter Lemon, Ginger Beer and one other (poss tonic water) all had sucralose listed instead of aspartame. I think Sucralose is another name for splenda. So does anyone think these would be a better alternative to mix with spirits?
Just wondering if sucralose is the lesser of 2 evils?0 -

Have you looked on the labels of diluting juice? Even in the ordinary, i.e. not 'no added sugar' squashes, there are sweeteners!!!!
Only one I've managed to find in Mr t's is called Bare All, contains water, sugar, fruit juices.
from wikipedia 'Sucralose is one of two artificial sweeteners ranked as "safe" by the consumer advocacy group Center for Science in the Public Interest.'0 -

Still being good but not been posting as I think I need a think about things.
Me too, although not the 'still being good' bit
Hope you doing ok. What things are you trying out?? I could do with some inspiration.
I've ordered the IPD cookbook, hopefully get that tomorrow, just looking for some new ideas & motivation to get back on track ...
Also just ordered a Paul McKenna confidence book todaySome carp things have happened over the last couple of days & I know I didn't cope with them very well (understatement of the century) so looking to give myself a [STRIKE]kick up the backside[/STRIKE] boost. Actually, Mercy, your signature 'saying' is very apt, I've been muttering it to myself lately, tis my new mantra!! Along with that other one, you know, the one that goes 'I will get back on track' ...

I could pop to the local shop where I know they have them but I also know I will buy cigarettes which I dont want to do!!!!
so now I am mooching about in the cupboards looking for something to munch on - bearing in mind I only had tea just over an hour ago and Im not hungry!!!!!
roll on 10pm so I can have 2 peices of dark chocolate and some peanuts while watching desperate housewives!!!
am slightly concerned that Im not shifting any weight - though my friend agreed with me that my bloated tummy has gone (despite TOTM)0 -
Hi folks, really tired, work was rush rush rush as we're short staffed and i was covering a different shift
Had nothing but coffee in work, and too worn out to cook when i got in, had a pepperami, one small piece of mex fudge and half a pack of curry with a buttered crispbread.
Not very good, no salad or veg.
Still no sweeteners in tea though
Seems like we're lcing out of sync again too.
I will be very disappointed if i havent lost any weight tomorrow, might just throw me off track, quite fancied a twix with my cuppa earlier, wasn't a craving tho luckily.
Mercy and sweet hope you're managing to cope, try not to let things get on top of you.
Fruitycar, how did you make your celery soup? recipe plz0 -
Morning - up with the dawn today!
Had some breakfast early on, well 2 pieces of cheese, so will now get ready and then have some bacon and eggs. Got a meeting which will go on a bit and don't want to to face the usual sandwiches lunch. Will also replenish my stash of pepparamis in the car.
Bought a load of YS meat in Waitrose yesterday which is now safely tucked in the freezer so that was worth the trip.
No idea what evening meal will be but got enough of a LC choice to make now. And got salad stuff in the fridge too.
Bright and sunny here and have a mood to match!0 -
Hi everyone - today I'm having eggs/salad, yoghurt, cabbage/curlykale/brocolli and cheese with a little bouillon gravy. I had this yesterday and and it was lovely.. I've hard-boiled some eggs to eat as snacks as I still haven't lost any more. I am also cutting down on the amount of yoghurt I eat to see if that makes any difference.0

Well I've spent the last 2 days eating carbs. I've had sandwiches (with white bread
) for lunch and potatoes for dinner. I've also had creamed rice for pud.
:o
However, I spent 6 hours yesterday completely emptying 2 sheds, sorting out junk, heaving about heavy things, going to the dump and by the time bedtime came, I was so tired and sore that I was very close to tears.
The day before, I was in the loft doing similar.
I have to say, I feel better now for my carb fest, I can only think that my body was needing rather than just craving more carb than it was getting (for TOTM purposes). I wasn't craving sweets or chocolate it was more starchy stuff like potatoes etc I wanted. I haven't actually put any weight on so clearly my busy days took care of the calorie intake, and I'm happy to be icing again today so thankfully (this time) my blip wasn't an issue.
I'm about to have a cheese and bacon omelette.....before going to the dump, again! See you all later.Herman - MP for all!0
