I did some more googling of coconut oil and I think the one I have is a refined oil, and thats not good. I don't want to eat any more of it now. Will carry on using it on my hair and skin for now and try to find a cold pressed one as soon as possible.

I dont even tell the doc or the nurse, i know what they'll say, i usually say i've cut out bread and am eating salads, lots of green veg, olive oil, some nuts, berries and white meat and fish
I omit the cheese, bacon, steak, butter and full fat yogurt
me too!! I havent told anyone that I am low carbing except DH and he hasnt got a clue about it anyway . I take salads to work and everyone says they look delish. I dont tell the health professionals either 'cos they would say it isnt good for me, yet I am losing weight , feel better than I have in ages and my blood sugars are improving too how could they argue with that? ( insert confused smilie) but I know they still would
breakfast: greek yog and blueberries
lunch cheeseburger ( no bun)
tea : sausage and turnip chips and maybe salad0 -
How do you make turnip chips?
I just peel the turnip and slice into cubes ( s'pose you could cut them longer for proper looking chips) then i toss in oil and put them on a baking sheet in a hot oven 200c for about 30 mins had some the other day and they were lovely dipped in low sugar ketchup( not sure how many carbs but I think turnip is fairly low? ?)

Where is everyone tonight?
At last, i'm sticking to the plan
Had the most delicious tuna steak ever, has been in the freezer for months, it is so like meat, forgot how nice it is.

Morning all :hello:
I was going to say how nice & sunny it is here, but the sun's just gone back in, so tis grey & cold looking now *rolls eyes* Ah well, soon be Spring!!
Menu for today:
B - 2 x buttery scrambled eggs on 1 x buttered crispbread
L - 2 x low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage, BNS soup
D - lime & coriander chicken with cauli mash, green beans & mushroom sauce
Felt a bit shaky on the low-carb front today, as if anything could tip me over the edge into a high-carb feeding frenzy!!Feel better after having my brekkie though, so hopefully I will soldier on. Actually, talking of soldiers, it did cross my mind to make soft-boiled eggs for brekkie & have the buttered crispbread as soldiers to dip into the runny egg.
Anyway, hope everyone else doing ok today
Sun's back out!!
Nah, gone back in again, will have to learn to type faster!! :rotfl:0 -
Morning all. Glad to see some PMA going on here, keep it up! I've lost another pound so it seems the four-week stall is well and truly over. Very exciting. I've now got 11 lb to go until I'm ready to start trying for our next baby. Hurrah!
B: Berries with greek yog and toasted flaked almonds
L: cheese and onion spread and saladdelicious leftover shepherd's pie that my husband made yesterday.
snacks: brazil nuts, maybe a pepperami
Also had unplanned glass of red wine yesterday which is v naughty as we're not supposed to be drinking in the week. But i was in a pub meeting someone so it just... happened.0 -
Hi All,
Yesterday went fine.
Was up early again, so have already eaten half my salad. But the office also ordered from the cafe so i had 2 scambled eggs which were rank. Id be better off bringing in a couple of eggs and using the microwave.
Anyway, meals today
B: 1/2 steak salad (lettuce/mushrooms/tiny bit of pepper and cumumber)
L: Scambled eggs (kind of) & rest of saladPrawn stirfry
Still not missing the coffee, which seems crazy to me as I was also having at least 1 can a day. So its all good so far.
Oh, forgot, made oopsies yesterday, mix was perfect, but then i forgot about having them in the oven and they went all crispy! it was def a opps!!!0 -
