according to google 1 cup of butternut sq has 19 g of carbs?
If cauli has 2.8 g in a cup , does that not make BNS a bit high?0 -
Ok, this week alone I have gone from being 16st 2 to 17st in the space of a few days. So bizarre. I *feel* like i've put on fat, even though I've been really good.0

That seems very extreme, that's a difference of 12lbs in a few days? Maybe you should check your scales? Are they mechanical ones or battery ones? If you've been fairly good, I can't see how you would put on 12lbs tbh.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Hmm, thats why i said if it's lc, always get conflicting advice, some say swede is high, some say its low, same goes for sprouts???
It does depend on whether its a British or USA site, as Americans deduct something like fibre or whatever to get the carb content.
Mind you, i probably only used just over a cup ( how the hell do you measure a cup.. why cant they just weigh things? ) in all for seven portions so not all bad.
Bulked it up with cabbage, also roasted some onion. was bloody yummy0 -

Just googled a UK site and it stated..
100g cabbage = 3.2
100g bns = 8.3
100g swede = 4.4
100g cauli = 2.7
100g jkt spud = 25.2
So compared to a jkt spud its not so bad and is similar in texture and quite filling, all about making better choices really.
The link if anyone is interested

Could you post up and idea of what you've been eating and drinking - might spot something that's causing a problem. A tad personal, but are you a bit 'bunged up' so to speak? :embarasse

I think there is some genuine confusion between spaghetti squash (which is hard to get) and BNS, spaghetti squash is quite lower than BNS.0 -
some say swede is high, some say its low
Is that because of the name problem? swedes are turnips in many places, and turnips are low carb
this explains

Bloody hell, no wonder we're confused :rotfl:
I've always wanted to try spag squash, seen it on tv and looks just like spaghetti, would be a great substitute for pasta.. possibly, depending on taste of course0
