Morning everyone :hello:
Yes CiderWR, I'm too impatient as well. I got a bit fed fed-up with gaining and losing the same couple of pounds while low carbing. I guess my regime now could be described as low GI/calorie counting. But I too noticed that low carb is good for maintaining, so like you will switch to l/c when I get to target weight, which is still a long way off. However, I'm pleased to report this morning that I've just edged down into the stone below - now 9 stone something, rather than 10 stone something, which for a 5 foot midget is still far too heavy and I need lose at least another stone-plus, but it's the lowest I've been in 15 months and it's in the right direction at least...
Re your instant bread recipe - I used to make that but substituted ground flax for the ground almonds, for when I was wanting something more 'bread-like' than 'cake-like' and was a good way to up my omega 3 and fibre intake, but you could also do half and half flax and almond if all-flax is not to folk's liking. I think it's in Mercy's recipe list as Sazbo's flax bread, or sommat like that.
And can I just finish by saying, "Yaaaaaaayyyy!!! It's Friiiidaaaaaayyyy!!!" :j
Have a good day everyone,

Hi All,
Ive been reading up on LC and am going to be starting on Monday. Ive meal planned for the week and will be stocking up on Saturday. Can i post the meal plan to see if ove got this all right?
Thanks0 -
I always wondered why you ate quorn sausages.
I do eat ordinary sausages sometimes, but always make sure they are a high-meat content. I have pork chipolata sausies from the Co-op in the freezer & they are 91% meat, but you can get a higher meat content than that if you shop around.
Trouble is, it does not say what meat the 91% is, and even if it mentions things like "made with fillet" or "prime cuts" etc etc etc , then you still are open to being mislead .
"91% meat from prime cuts" what is a "prime cut"0 -

Lol, I knew someone would come back with that!! :rotfl:
The co-op sausages say 91% pork, what part of the pig that means I do not know, but I only eat them occasionally so I'm not going to beat myself up or worry about it.
Sazbo, well done on getting to 9 stone something!! *in my dreams, in my dreams* :rotfl:

I've just had a very quick and lazy tea.
Twas lovely.
I grated some cauli and fried it in a little butter, added some spring onion, cream and cheese and stuck it on a plate with 3 M&S chicken chicken pakora pieces cut up into small bits and centred on the top. I couldn't be bothered cooking but this was classed as 'heating up' and I can do that, lol.
The M&S pakora was from their tastes from the orient ranges (or something) , where they have small packs of spring rolls, dumplings, chicken, etc. They were on 3 for a fiver so although too dear to use frequently, they were handy to have in as a quick and easy standby.
I feel like I've just been to the Indian. I'm stuffed. Happy days.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Hi everyone, had a busy week and haven't had much time to post so here is my menu for the week: Monday: Yoghurt, bacon and eggs, Chicken & salad. Tuesday: Yoghurt, bacon and eggs, steak (inside of a pie) and cabbage. Wednesday: Yoghurt, cheesy scrambled eggs, more steak from pie and broccili. Thursday: Yoghurt, home made tomato soup, chicken and salad. Today: Yoghurt, tomato soup, a piece of chocolate, fish and salad. Will have to make some soups for the cold weather which is supposed to be on its way. I couldn't believe how much the price of tomato's, last year I was paying about 50p and this year they are nearer £1.50! Have a nice weekend.0

Do you know, I am so happy you mentioned cauliflower cheese, we love it in our house... argh.. just thought, there's flour in the recipe I use!! damn! do you make it without the flour then?
This is the way I make cauliflower cheese but I am sure you could do lots of variations.
Partly cook some cauliflower - I use a microwave steamer for about 5 mins. Put about 2 tablespoons of full fat creme fraiche in a casserole with a small amount of grated cheese. Add in the cauliflower and mix it all up. Sprinkle more grated cheese on top to give a fine layer over. Put in oven without lid for about 20 mins. It is ready when the cheese browns and is best when the creme fraiche has nearly dried up. If you want a change add 2 types of cheese. Blue cheese mixed with cheddar is lovely.0 -
Hi all! Wow this thread's taken off! YAY :j
Hi all wonderful new people! Great to have you here! Hope you like us, we already like you
Used to be you missed a day and nowt much had happenenedSuddenly on a quick in n out I find I've spent 40 mins! Yippeeeeee :T
Btw, has anyone here ever had a colonic?:D I really think this would do me good but I just can't bring myself to go just through sheer embarrassment. It seems very unatural to lie there whilst a total stranger sticks a tube up your bum. (Actually I've got a sense of deja vu about this......sorry if I've already asked this or we've already talked about it.)
just been googling again. Do I buy different coconut oil to eat/consume to what I need to use on my hair/skin? and do they sell it in Tescos,?lol
No get the one from H&B. it tastes great. I've tried coconoil but once I got onto H&B stuff I was won over. It is so much better. Buy 1 get 1 half price at mo.
Had to make notes over reading last 48 hrs of stuff will continue in next

Smee again!
I may be treading ground already covered but that's what you're getting
Diamonds - Check out the recipe list on page 1.
Polyols are fake foods - leave alone.
Taking metformin and other cholesterol reducing drugs depletes the body's COQ10 which is used in so many ways in the body. Lacking it can exasperate lack of energy and will to do much. As well as less noticeable affects. If not already prescribed or taking these please do. 100mg are recommended in a day. Get some, give it a month and see if that helps. They are often sold in 30mg caps, use 3 a day.
Alias - peanuts are so not LC! Try coating chopped brazils / cashews / pecans / walnuts with 70% choc then see if you'll ever go back :rotfl:
mazz - TIME FOR DEATH Its not nice but neither is an incontinent mouse in the house (and there is no other kind of mouse, unfortunately). You done right - call in the professionals. Also, your son's track is ace! sweets was right it is my kinda ting.Had it on repeat since I saw the postHad to join myspace but glad I did. V much up my street. Nice voice, well acceptable. If I'd been played this by my Rock DJ mate I'd not know it wasn't in the rock charts.
Fruitycar - coconut oil, take a bit out for personal use, eat th rest!
Alias - sorry you got a bad reaction. I use face wipes (sensitive) to remove grime, morn n eve, 2x a week I do oil cleasing method, 1ce or 2ce a week I exfoliate. Then after every application I moisturise with coconut oil. Do still get some spots but they don't last. If I feel I've got a problem I apply sudocrem after cleansing but b4 coconut oil. Skin is in great shape and I must say it does help if you drink enough water. I get more outbreaks if I've not.
Dr DD - I was looking at some sliced ham in B&M Bargains last week and it said 'Ham - 89%' Well I didn't buy that :rotfl: In sausies it's a bit different. They do all include some 'binder' often 'rusk'. Asda do some which are 4.summat carbs per 100g = 2g carb per sausie. V nice and on offer at mo. 12 for £2.
Wow! Outta breath now
Big love
