diamonds, yes, I've had the bread. It's really quite good - a little bit eggy maybe but when youve gone without a sandwich for six months it's heaven! I keep a loaf in the freezer but I'm not using it at the moment. I feel like it's cheating and I want to keep as far away form that as I can, as the weight is stalling at the moment.

Generally I find this a brilliant way to lose weight, and the only way to do it long term as far as I'm concerned. Like someon else says, it's an appetite controller, which is a huge deal. And yes, I do lots of exercise at the moment, more than I've ever done before. Gym twice a week (with running), yoga four times and swimming once. I should be Sally bloody Gunnell.

I might try that focaccia style flax bread you put the link up for .. never bought flax seed thingy, what is it? when I look at the Holland & barrett website there's a few different types.. which one do you recommend?

I'm sorry if I ask stupid questions, I'm so early day's in all this and want to do this atkins thing right.

By the way, what's the coconoil for? is it for cooking sweet things? I saw a recipe for cookies that used coconut oil I think?.. I will get there one day!!

Right, I better get some sleep, I've literally spent hours online reading allsorts of stuff about atkins. low carb. GI diet, and the evilness of carbs!! I must have put on weight just sitting still for so long!

My OH Chris was asking what the noise was that he could hear earlier on.. it was my grumbling stomach!! that's how bad it is! I must admit I always suffer with this kinda thing anyway.. when I eat sugar free mints I get a dodgy belly, combine this with the metformin which is remown for giving a wonky stomach and the sugar free sweets I ate... well, theres no hope is there!!

Night everyone - oh and another thing I meant to ask, do you all weigh yourselves daily/weekly or what? I have been weighing myself every morning :o

Talking of faux egg fried rice made with cauli, I made a really yummy dish late night. I got the idea from bowulf on youtube,

    I fried some chopped bacon

then added a whole grated cauli and fried for about 5 or 6mins till it started to stick (dryout)

Then i added two beaten eggs after moving the mixture to one side of the pan, cook the egg slightly then mix all together
    ,
Then i added about two teas spoons of sesame oil and a good slug of soy sauce (mine's gluten free soy) I added to this, cooked chicken as we had this as a main meal. it was so lovely.. ps i also added chopped spring onions

Morning everyone. :( < Me today. Anyone remember the spot cream set that Boots had a glitch on..it should have been £12 and was going through at £2.50? Well I washed my face twice with the face wash from that set and my face is now swollen, sore and red. My eyes are puffy and have big bags under them. I look really old.

Since the face wash is the only thing I used differently to normal, seems safe to assume that's the culprit. I did think my skin was a little stingy after the first wash but thought maybe it was just reacting to the change in cream. I should have stopped then and not used it a second time. :(

I hope my skin settles down again, if I'm left with big bags....I'm definitely having a face lift! Not happy. And more than a little embarrassed. I'm also wishing I hadn't got so much cut off my hair too.....it's too short and I feel Mumsy. :o I'm sooo not having a good time right now. *sob*

Anyway, day 5 was over yesterday...no cheating. I had a sneaky weigh in 2 days early and I think I'll need to get a new battery for the scales just to check, as the result seemed too good to be true. My 'official' weigh day is Sunday so for once, I'm looking forward to getting on the scales.

Diamonds, it's best not to weigh every day...weight can fluctuate daily and you'll run the risk of getting despondent if the scales are a little up one day. Try to do it weekly if you can (I know it's hard to ignore temptation :D).

Also...Coconoil is for anything and everything. I fry my eggs in it for example.....so not just for sweet things. The same tub does everything, you don't need different kinds for different things. I got mine online but can't remember where at the minute, will see if I can find the email but if not, mercy will know.

    :o What is icing?

I didn't say icing, I said lcing (with an el) :D
As mazzers said, lcing is just [STRIKE]lazy[/STRIKE] short for lowcarbing
icing is alias' wishful-thinking a long time ago, I'll let her explain!! :rotfl:
quarn sausages with scrambled eggs for breakfast are a better option than processed sausage, add a tomato and some mushrooms and its a cooked breakfast!

I always wondered why you ate quorn sausages.
I do eat ordinary sausages sometimes, but always make sure they are a high-meat content. I have pork chipolata sausies from the Co-op in the freezer & they are 91% meat, but you can get a higher meat content than that if you shop around.

I officially weigh every Monday morning, but will admit to a sneaky weigh every couple of days as well :o

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Yippee, tis Friday!! Has been another loooooong week!! Very wet & miserable here today, but I'm still going to park on the sea-front & walk into town to get some shopping. So what if I end up looking bed-raggled, no-one will be looking at me (I hope)!! :o

    Menu for today:
    B - 2 egg cheese/mushroom/ham/yellow pepper omelette (lush!!)
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, BNS soup (last one, must make more!!)
D - low-carb fishpie with green beans (nomnomnom, can't wait!!)

Just remembered, someone asked about making a low-carb cheese sauce - as mazzers said, double cream heated up & grated cheese added is one way & you can also use full-fat creme fraiche in the same way. Very quick & very yummy!! Season with black pepper if liked.

Right, better go & have my shower, see you all later

    Hey hey hey..
My son singing with his band, have a listen.

I must be getting old because all that guitar stuff at the start is just ear grating noise to me. It was better when it stopped and the singing started. There was a tune then.:rotfl:

alias, you're nothing but a mumsy old f@rt!! :rotfl:(Why has the f@rt word highlighed in blue?!) Ok, ignore that bit, it didn't turn blue when I posted?!
I thought the guitar bit was brilliant, I must be more 'with it' than you!! :p:rotfl:

As regards your poor sore face, hope it calms down soon. Have you tried rinsing with luke-warm water over & over again?? You might need to take something like Piriton (anti-histamine)??

    I'm kidding!

Good ida about the Piriton, will pop down the chemist shortly I think.

    Morning everyone!

Sorry about the icing confusion lol,,, I was wondering what the hell you were icing! (and with my sweet tooth situation, zoning in on it).

I've just had 1 fried egg and 2 slices of bacon for breakfast. I usually have an omelette but yesterday I felt too full up.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm half a pound heavier than yesterday.. so you are prob right and I should just lay off till Monday mornings (i won't).

My partner has cheated 2 nights running by drinking beer!! Wed is his pub night which I wouldn't want him to give up just cos I'm a fatty :D but lastnight he just wanted beer. The bu@@er has lost a stone since we started dieting (he did the cabbage soup diet with me and the weight fell of him, I suspect that was mainly due to the no beer situation!). I don't think this atkins diet will work for him and I should maybe just tell him to eat as he was.. just do it on my own... I'm not tempted by the kids food so I'll be fine.

I must admit I am gagging for alcohol and it being Friday doesn't help :o

I have no idea what to have for lunch, I have the whole house to clean so may just graze on some ham I got from sainsburys and I have a cooked chicken in the fridge.
