Evening - late one for me but been 'chatting' on FB. Eat well and drunk well too... god, the best laid plans o' mice and men and all that.
Out tomorrow early'ish, probably lunch out too cos of the time. Then the same on Thursday, then across to Glasgow on Friday.
Had bacon and eggs for evening meal but then ate a load of almonds - trouble is I haven't got an 'off' or 'enough' or 'no more' button.
Night.

mdta, sounds a lot like slimming world red days
I lost a stone and a half in a few months on that, i was walking 3-4 hours a week though. ( hmm, i dont know if i believe myself there, sounds too good to be me)
Thing is with lc, you dont get hungry. I have to get back on it as my BG results now require more tests as its up again
Also, my feet are tender again0 -
Morning! Having my coconut oil then will shower and have breakfast. Snow on the cars again
Hope everyone is well.0 -
Morning all :hello:
mdta, I thought you must be doing a version of Dr. D, whatever, it's obviously working for you, so well done!!
alias, hope you're feeling better this morning, my DD1 gets occasional totm migraines so know from her experience that migraines generally are not nice. How weird that you think it was triggered by the extra 5-HTP, think you're right to stick with your original dose.
With regards to the chillis in the mexican fudge, I suppose it depends on how many chillis you use & if you use the whole thing, including seeds?? You don't even have to put chillis in, I can't tolerate fresh chillisso would never use them now, although I would sprinkle some chilli powder in instead. The original recipe is lovely, but basically you can put in anything you want, as it's essentially a quiche. I've even put in cheesy leeks before now!! :rotfl: But things like cooked pieces of bacon, ham, spring onions, corned beef, feta cheese (not all of these things at once!!) should work, just experiment & see what you like.
mazzers, hope you doing ok, the raised BG must (I hope) give you the incentive needed to stick with lcing?? If it stays high, does that mean medication?? I'm guessing you don't want to have to to take more pills.
My menu for today:
B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, BNS soup
D - low-carb corned beef hash & green beans
No snow here, but tis very icy & snow/sleet forecast for later today, oh joy!!
Happy low-carb days everyone, I'm off to have a quick bath :wave:0 -
No, i dont want to be taking more meds
Did manage to bring it down last time i stuck to lc, had the tests just before xmas and sugar consumption was rather high
Alias, the 'fudge' is delish, so much nicer than a quiche, i put bacon bits, cherry toms, chillies and even sausage bits in mine, it does rise a lot tho so use a deep enough dish.
Got more painting to do today, if i can be bothered.0 -
Guess what I've just had for late breakkie?
Sirloin steak and omelette. I'm good to myself I am. :rotfl:
Day 3 over yesterday btw...no cheating has occurred.
(I promise to stop counting days and reporting on every one after one complete week has passed.)
Going to go shopping later, got my shopping list ready with chillis, sesame seeds and all manner of 'not normally eaten' things on it. Will give the fudge a go, thanks guys.
Warm cuddles of support and fond hugs to all. :rotfl::AHerman - MP for all!0 -
I found this thread a couple of days ago and have been lurking. I've done Atkins in the past (successfully) and have just started making a real effort to low carb (7 lbs lost in the last 10 days :j)
I have a question. I've noticed coconut oil mentioned a lot, what's that all about? please?

Hello all,
I'd lost half a pound finally yesterday, but it seems to be back on today. Balls.
Anyway, just come back from yoga and feeling too chilled to work. Sadly I have no choice about it so just a quick update:
B: bockwurst with mustard
L: coronation chicken saladStuffed peppers
And some soya decaff coffee with splenda nad brazil nuts for snacks. I must say, I'm starting to get really fed up with not losing and wondering what on earth else I can do. I started on 4 Jan and lost 6lb in that week; since then nothing. I even went up a pound, though that came off. I'm clearly not doing it right even though I've really upped my exercise levels. If I get to another weighin day with no loss I may have to consider a three-day meat fast, whcih I'm really not looking forward to.0 -

Have you measured yourself? Remember muscle weighs more than fat, if you are doing loads of exercise you may be gaining muscle mass. So you may have lost inches but not weight. This happened to my mum, she had lost over 4 inches off her waist before the scales moved! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
