Hi teeni, welcome to the thread
Wow, what a lovely incentive to work towards & so exciting.
Definitely read as much as you can before you start & plan your shopping/meals. You should never go hungry on low-carb, you may feel a bit wishy-washy & headachey in the first few days, but it does wear off & you start feeling great, as long as you remember to eat enough & drink plenty of water.
There are tried & tested recipes on page 1 of this thread if you need ideas for meals.
Good luck!!0 -
Eurgh, well after being really good and not eating anything i shouldnt am sat here eating a weetabix and milk. Was feeling really nauseous and was sick twice. Think i may have given myself mild food poisoning with my chicken paprika last night:eek: Couldnt think what had made me ill then realised i stopped eating it last night as it wasnt very warm, as i was reheating it from the night before. I only ate a few bits so hopefully shouldnt be too bad. Will be back on plan once i feel better. Should be ok soon:oThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Been to dig the car out - about 4 inches of the stuff. Then walked into the city and got a sweat up.0 -

Oh no! Doesn't sound too good and I hope you feel better soon. Try drinking flat fizzy drinks to replace those lost minerals, and it does settle the stomach in a wonderfully magic way - course it'll be sugar that does it!0 -

Thanks, will give it a go. Hope this doesnt affect my weight loss too much, have been soooo good all week! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I'm going to float down the street soon with all the water I've been drinking, either that or I'll burst :j
Had all my food for today along with water, tea, coconut oil and vits. Have just sat at the PC most of the afternoon dealing with paperwork which had piled up and I had managed to avoid well. No more of that particular stuff until March now.
Yesterday finally did my online tax return and now waiting for the refund to shoot into my account. Oh, been to the bank to order my AD$ cos I'm away a lot next week and won't get round to it. Had a wander into Boots to pick up some stuff like wet wipes/little empty bottles etc.
Got the electric blanket on and just waiting for some heat to build up before going to bed to read a bit.
Hope everyone is OK...0 -
Hi all!
Been having internet probs so have missed quite a bit. Am hopefully back now
Been good this week, no alcohol from Sunday to thurs but went bowling friday and did have a couple of ciders. Never been before but found I'm not rubbish so will be going again :rotfl:
Got a full day of cooking tomorrow. Beef mince curry, bacon n veg stoo, sausages, mexican fudge! :j Or as much of that as possible anyway :rotfl:
Asda do some pork sausies at around 4% carb and not too expensive - got 12 for £2. Very nice. Tried em last week and they're great for brekkie and fridge snacks. Works out at about 2g per quite large sausie.
Received my late xmas parcel from Switzerland! It does have some choc but all 70% cocoa so will be rationing that over the coming weeksAlso had nice little cheese sticks with unpronouncable names
Both myself and the cats are fans of gruyere and appen-summat. V stinky but so delicious! Still have others to try, can't wait for tomorrow lunch :rotfl:
Hope you are all well n happy!

Good to see you back Mercy, and 'hello' to those who have joined us!
Nippy morning. Snow hasn't melted but sunshine is forecast for today so perhaps it'll go. I have to be in Leeds tomorrow so I don't want snowy/icy roads.
Breakfast coming up - just having my coconut oil and vits and then will have a couple of eggs.
Lunch - don't know! Will have to go into town for a few bits and pieces so don't know what I'll fancy when I get back.
Evening meal - probably BNS soup with a splash of sour cream.
Had a really good sleep last night despite a couple of vivid dreams, I don't usually remember dreams (and don't remember those ones either) but do remember having them!
Am slowly removing clutter (again) as there's a friend coming to stay for a few days :j and it's the best incentive. The house is OK but does need a little TLC as I don't tend to 'see' the dust in winter when there's so little light.
Plans for the day: green tea and water. Brisk walk into town. Not so brisk spending of money when in town and a brisk walk home again. Then a bit of a Dr Who fest!
Hope everyone is coping with life and is well and warm.0 -
Morning all
G&B, hope you're feeling better today.
Gers, thought you must have meant mashed or riced cauli yesterday!!Were you excited about ordering your AD$ (or was that just me on your behalf
)??
Yaay, welcome back to Mercy!! Enjoy your cooking day today, I've been thinking of making mexican fudge as well, haven't had it for ages & tis sooooo nice. Need to buy more eggs as seem to remember it uses 6?? Will have a look at the recipe to remind myself. Won't bother with the chillis though
Menu for today:
B - 2 egg cheese omelette
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage, BNS soup
D - brisket of beef with cauli mash, green beans & cheesy/creamy/garlic mushroom sauce
Decided to postpone our meal out last night (because of the stupid snow!!) & will go to the moors pub next weekend instead, weather permitting!! So, had cajun chicken for dinner last night with the usual veggies, deeeeelicious it was!! Made a lovely mushroom sauce to go with it & having the leftovers with my dinner tonight, although I had a belated thought to put it into my breakfast omelette, think it would have been quite nice actually. Ah well, maybe next time.
Happy Sunday, everyone.0 -

:j:j No.. just brain freeze! Too much info trying to either escape or get into the little space in my head.Today is not much better - am clearing out a kitchen cupboard slowly, and can't think what to put in place of the chucked out stuff.
Breakfasted, showered and dressed and now going on my snow trek. Brrrrr0
