Hi everyone
My goodness but you all can talk - you gave me some help a while back and I wanted to catch up on reading the entire thread before I started posting....so, a very belated thank you to you all!
I'm not sure if it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I somehow stumbled across a website that has just the biggest amount of food recipes / photos / etc that are all apparently induction friendly. It's an american site so some of the food is a different to what I'd normally make, but some of it is LUSH, yumyumyum.
Anyway, as my computer is playing up, I can't link properly, so apologies in advance if this doesn't work.

I have a feeling it'll take you to the middle of a huge big thread, so if you're interested, make sure to read from the start of it for lots of (possibly) new recipes.
Ooh, big post, sorry! Hope it's of some interest to you though
K xLead me not into temptation - I can find it perfectly well all by myself0 -

Lovely!
Today I have been mostly enjoying lots of soup! And my mixed up chilli. Weight is slowly shifting and that's fine. I'm resigned to not losing 6 stones by 14 Feb :rotfl:
Sorry you're struggling mazzers, can't be easy with a houseful of others to feed. As there are only 2 of us I can be more disciplined about not having any goodies lurking in cupboards and I do always keep repeating 'sugar = poison' and 'carbs = fat' to myself when I go shopping. Just to confuse myself I also say 'fat = thin' at other things. I still lurk longingly at the doughnuts and cherry bakewells but the 'sugar = poison' works for me every time. My comfort eating has substantially reduced too but only by dint of sheer will power and determination and not because I'm a good person.
Guilt over failure gives permission to stop the effort. Accept the failure and move onto the next success and give yourself praise often for those successes. :T Positive reinforcement - ignore the bad stuff and celebrate the good stuff!
Sorry for the Pollyanna stuff, it works for me and it keeps me going through the doubts, hate, fears and tedium!0 -

Gers, I'm loving soup as well. I only have 2 ladlefuls a day now, doesn't seem quite enough though so next time I think I'll up it to 3 ladlefuls. Need to do what you do & batch cook some different soups.
I use the containers from the double cream to store and/or freeze it - seems to be a perfect size for me. Tonight I had defrosted, at random, my spicy roasted tomato and cauliflower soup.

Enjoyed my corned beef hash tonight, even if it did look like cat sick!! :rotfl: Bought some peppers today so added half a chopped red pepper into the mix. Haven't had peppers for ages (forgot to get one yesterday for my fahita chick) but think I'll start using them again as I really like them, hopefully not too carby if I only use a small amount.
Btw, Netto didn't have any frozen cauliflower!! I know fresh caulis are few & far between, & expensive when you do find them, but hoped the frozen stuff would still be available!! Must be a knock-on effect because of the snow. Will try again later in the week, have enough in the freezer to last me for 2 or 3 days. Gulp.
I did a very dangerous & foolish thing today ...
I bought a pack of 6 creme eggs!!Have put them 'away' & really hope I'm not tempted. Silly me though.
Have been feeling hungry for the last few days, don't know why?? PMT seems to have started (cue Mrs. Angry ) so that's probably why but my menus usually keep me satisfied :huh:0 -
Oh, by the way, that's a really good idea for using empty cream cartons :T Mine usually go in recycling but think I'll start saving them & using them as you do. Is it the (approx) 84p size?? That's the one I usually get.0

600ml size - wouldn't be enough in the 300ml sized onedoesn't really matter as long as the size works for you. :rotfl:
When I'm organised enough I put a freezer bag inside the carton then the soup, so I can remove the frozen stuff and store that way - then can use the carton more often. Of course, a square/rectangle box would be better again... no spaces inbetween.

According to my Collins Gem Carb Counter book peppers are OK'ish:
Green pepper (raw) 1.0g per 40g
Green pepper (boiled) 1.3g per 50g
Red pepper (raw) 2.6g per 40g
Red pepper (boiled) 3.5g per 50g
Yellow pepper (raw) 2.1g per 40g
so be careful with them. My favourite garden peas are a total no-no :eek:0
