Had a good meeting at work today, one in which I shoneBuzzing off that I did all the housework I've been neglecting almost on auto pilot as have rest of meeting tomorrow and have been inadvertantly preparing.
I can do cleaning etc much better when I have other things to think about :rotfl:
Food today
B - 2x crackers with lumps of pork
L - spicy veg n bacon/gammon stew
D - will be pork lumps with stir fry of leek, mushrooms and mange tout
Yesterday's food was good and similar to today but with chicken korma on cauli for lunch.
Trying to drink more water, it's a bit hit and miss but def doing more than last week so on the way! :j Harder when it's cold. Am having mint tea quite regularly as it tastes so good, has no carbs and can be kept going for a whole afternoon :rotfl:

Morning all
daisy, so sorry to hear the update on your hubby, hope things improve a little today. Try to keep strong & positive. XX
My menu for today:
B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
D - lemon sole, cauli mash, cheesy leeks, green beans
The lemon sole is 9.4g carbs, probably because it's dusted in flour & has a batter as well??
Anyway, see you all later.0 -
Daisy, so sorry. It sounded from your first post like it was an episode that was over quickly, which is why I thought it sounded like a TIA. Sorry to hear that it's a full on stroke. But like you say, brilliant to have caught it so soon. When my mum had her stroke my dad didn't call the doctor for four hours! I was on my way down to visit them (it was New Year's Eve) and when he opened the door he told me she'd had a fall. I took one look at her and realised what it was and we got the doctor out. This was just before all those infomation ads telling you about 'FAST', which ironically starting apprearaing on the TV about a week after mum had her stroke. Sadly she was misdiagnosed by the doc as having had a TIA, and had another stroke later the next week. That time they actually called an ambulance and she was taken in to hospital and looked after properly. She's so lucky, it could have been tragic. Scans show no visible brain damange at all.0

Hey daisy, hope you're doing ok. Feels a bit silly worrying about diets when you're having a hard time. Don't wanna sound cheesy but I do hope things get better soon. x0

Ok, today has been pretty tough, really hitting a wall. I want BREAD!
Menu:
Breakfast:
Boiled egg
Lunch:
Cheese and spinach salad with olive oil
Dinner:
The inside of a kebab
And of course a few vodka cokes this evening!0 -
Daisy hope things are improving, am thinking about you.
Benfilan Its a while since I've read the Atkins but I'm pretty sure alcohol is not allowed this early. Think you maybe need to increase the size of your breakfast as one egg might not be enough to last you to lunch and that is what makes you look for snacks. Once you get used to Atkins it's not that bad. A bit boring but certainly filling enough.
Going to look through IPD cookbook again to see what I will make. Only complaint is that it doesn't tell you carb content or what phase it fits in so will have to check any ingredients that I don't use regularly. As is often the case it was better looking forward to getting the book than actually getting it.
Back to summer weather here - wet and miserable. We are never happy are we.
Have a good weekend everyone.0
