I always think that if you have a mingin' house on New Year's Eve/New Year's Day, then it will be mingin' all year!! Is that just an Old Wive's Tale?? Hope so. :o:rotfl:

Woar there girlie! You set up some strange resonance in my brain with that note
Dunno if it's true but last few years ain't bothered with the tidy for New Year and yes it has been a mess all that time :rotfl: So Today I have bleached all floors that can take it and vacc'd the rest :rotfl: Tidied up and will have clean bedding on, other bedding drying - giving freshness to the air. Have opened all windows so new clean air will be in. Just got to sort n scrub bathrooms and give it another vac to be sure :T

Horrible experience on the road, Hun! I kinda know it from the other side - we wern't speeding and it was black ice - will shake one up some. Good on you for caring to stop. We need more like you, babe! :T

Gaye - Merci pour le fine wishes! Have a lovely time in your gorgeous sounding frock! Never mind about the dress code, you'll look and feel great! :j Any looks will be of admiration or jealousy! Go girl!
I too send love to Badger, hope she's well n happy!

Mazz - SLUGS! Tell me about em! Usually have many but it's because they live in the undefloor space shared by myself and my neighbour. Not seen any recently as it's got cold but in Spring and Summer I occasionally pull back the carpet and apply pellets to any gaps in the ancient floorboards. Keeps em down for about 45 mins :rotfl:

Gaye - if snails are seen as delicacy can slugs be used as mazz suggests?

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

More snow for us today. Oh joy

Supposed to be having my Dad for Lunch (not literally) but he's disabled & unsteady on his feet so might have to go to him, lock, stock & roast beef joint!! Bummer.

Hope everyone had a good night last night - any hangovers out there?! I feel fine :D

Have a good day today _party_

Glad he didnt squish you.. who else am i going to moan too :D

Have a great 2010 folks, hopefully i will too ;)
  • I'm glad he didn't squish me as well!! _pale_
Drove past today & the tree he hit has been uprooted - was only a young tree & perhaps that was lucky for the driver, an established tree could have done more damage.

Made a lovely roast beef dinner for New Year Lunch, the beef was cooked to perfection, which is unusual for me :o Really enjoyed it & there's loads left, enough for probably 2 more meals!! :j Going to try & be more frugal this year, been [STRIKE]squandering[/STRIKE] spending far too much money lately.

So, plan on mean-planning frugality of the low-carb variety in 2010.

Not sure if I'll be re-starting lcing tomorrow though?? I'm pretty sure I could resist any Christmas leftovers, but have no eggs in the hoose, and no inclination to go to the shops to buy any either!! We had thick snow falling again today & I prefer hibernation to shopping when it's bad weather. Will have to go shopping on Monday, so think that's when I'll start again.

mazzers, did you enjoy your New Year's Eve??

Mercy, what did you get up to??

    Anyone else??

Didnt get up til 2pm  drinking makes me so tired.

New Years eve was ok... just ok.

I felt fat and frumpy icon9.gif although, i was told i looked nice  Didnt feel it.

Really tired today so only up for 4 hours and i'm back in bed
Need an early night as i'm working tomorrow.

Must get back to icing soon.

Weather permitting i'm having a girly night with a few friends on Sunday, so may start back icing on Monday.. i really really need it!

Goodnight peeps, i'm off to sleep. xx
  • Morning peeps :hello:

Christmas decs & my wonky Christmas tree are coming down today :j I'm usually fed up with them by Boxing Day but feel like I have to wait until the 2nd Jan before I can finally get rid!!

Tis still white here & more forecast over the next few days :( Getting bored with it now.

Sorry, I'm in a negative mood today aren't I!! :o Getting pmt symptoms so feeling narked at everything!! :rotfl:

Anyway, hubby is away to the Co-op to buy bacon & eggs so that I can definitely re-start lcing on Monday, no excuses!! :naughty: Dreading getting weighed but I will be 'fessing up' as to how much blubber I put on over Christmas & you can all have a laugh at my expense!! :o

    Hope everyone doing ok??
I'm off to get dressed & then the tidying up marathon (or should that be snickers now?!) begins!!

    Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!!

Been a bad girl over christmas and new year so today was my day of reckoning.I have put on 4lbs.But tbh its not as much as I expected to gain.So back in the LC groove from today but its not exactly easy as there are loads of choccies and cakies left from yesterdays buffet but I will be good

Mazzer slugs wont cross copper tape and you can get adhesive backed versions of it in garden centres and apply it around your door or where you think the !!!!!!s are getting in

Sweets-How about not weighing yourself till say Wednesday so that you have a couple of LC days to lose some of the fluid you will have retained.I do this as then the horror is slightly diminished lol

Lol, good idea lesley but, in a perverse & weird kinda way, I want to know how much I've put on, a bit of shame & humiliation never did anyone any harm!! :rotfl:
