well i have officially definitely started as ive been and filled in my lovely excell chart that HanSpan ( i think ) sent us all

its not a pretty sight :(

    I'm terrified to weigh.

Cant access my chart as my excel trial has blinkin 'run out', mind you come Feb, it will be a year and i should be ten stone odd according to my previous ridiculous claims
  • daisy, I think I would weep if I thought the 12lbs was all fat gain!!
I always bloat up ridiculously quickly when I start over-doing the carbs - I know the 'weight' is mostly water (or it had better be anyway) so it will soon evaporate!! :rotfl:

mazzers, you missed a pic of the DD's snowman & snowcat, bloomin' masterpieces they are!!
You also missed an insult about the size of your butt
And you missed a comment about how clean your window ledges are!! :rotfl:
    However, I didn't miss your [STRIKE]excuses[/STRIKE] post about not re-starting low-carb today :rolleyes::p

I have stuck to my menu religiously today, found it surprisingly easy (so far). If I'm peckish later I'll have some S&V peanuts and/or 2 more crispbreads.

Have roasted some butternut squash for making soup tomorrow, stuck it in the oven with the chicken as I'm trying to be more MSE this year.

Btw, daisy, didn't realise you were a MFW peep!! Noticed your sig & that is bl00dy brilliant!! I'm hoping to start making overpayments some time soon, fingers crossed.

    Me again

    Reasons for sticking with low-carb:

    * nice skin - my skin is sooo much nicer when I'm lcing. Atm my skin is spotty & dull. Hadn't really noticed until I downloaded some Edinburgh/Glasgow photos the other day (from my trip there in October) & I thought my skin looked so fresh & clear on them (even if I say so myself :o)

    * no bloating - that is no carb face/hamster cheeks, stomach is flatter, no 'waterlogged' feeling

    * quote from daisy - i like the way i have so much energy and feel i could take on the world - i feel happy and confident in my clothes and with how i look which in turn makes me feel great
i like feeling in control of food rather than it being in control of me which can and does happen if i wander into HC land !!

    * How on earth could I forget - great food!!
We can eat gorgeous meals & still lose weight!! :j

    * Photos - there are already far too many 'fat' photos of me around _pale_ Would like to destroy/exterminate them, I hate to think of future generations seeing them & thinking of me as 'the fat one' :(

    * quote from HanSpan - I know I'm like a broken record but.... No Thrush! (Didn't know whether to add this above or below the TMI warning :rotfl:)

The next bit may be a bit TMI for those peeps of a sensitive disposition & I apologise in advance :rotfl:

    * no wind - I just don't do it when I'm lcing & I'm sure I'm a nicer person to know as a result!! High-carb wind is extremely unpleasant & plentiful!!

    * sweet-smelling No. 2's - Ok, maybe not sweet-smelling but hardly any whiff at all when lcing!! High-carb No. 2's stink to high heaven!! :rotfl:

Does anyone else have any 'reasons to stick with low-carb'? (that you will admit to!!)

fanx honey - i have a very old and not often updated diary on there and that goes through our whole MF tale - however just as we got onto SVR and were massively over paying - hubby decided life is too short and bought me my mini this year instead of next when the mortgage was gone
soooo things have been set back by 12 months - not massive in grand scheme of things tho :)
    its quite addictive !!

found today a little tough but not been that busy as children still home and hub out tonight so no real reason to cook a proper meal

so far ive had my scrambled egg 2 big bowls of HM turkey soup and 2 LC crackers with butter and 1 with cheese
also had a bit of cheese to nibble on

ive made a 10 gallon pan of soup for next couple of days but am feeling nibbley - not hungry but carb nibble ish iykwim ?? so may have some black decaf tea and 2 squares of dark choccie to get me through the evening !!!

editted to add - i had a slice of ham and a mini chunk of cambozola cheese to try and stave off eating the choccie - but it didnt work and i ate the choccie as well !!

  • Daisy, thanks for that :D
Presume the link is for your MFW diary, will have a look in a bit, I'm already obsessed/addicted with reading the MFW thread, just been having another look!! :rotfl:

Tis reassuring that it's not just me getting windy on a high-carb diet!! ;)

Completely agree with your comment about feeling happy, confident & in control when lcing. Losing weight & looking/feeling better in your clothes/skin gives a huge boost to your confidence & obviously that's going to come across to other people as well. Will add it to my list!! :D

Such a great and motivating conversation happening this evening. I've decided to write a food diary so that I can see EXACTLY what I am eating, so no cheating with the writings. And I've also decided to forsake alcohol until I get to sunnier climes in February (just on the seat on the plane actually!). So, 2 challenges for me to tackle.

Spent too long over Christmas/New Year giving in to temptation and not walking, the weather had a hand in that but actually when I did venture out for a walk today I ended up lovely and toasty. Could have been the hat, gloves, scarf and warm coat??

Only drunk green tea and glasses of water today - had chicken and salad twice as had to use up some stuff in the fridge. Even managed a cup of black ordinary tea today in the optician's waiting room, wasn't too bad.

Electric blanket is already switched to on.
