  • Morning peeps :hello:

Gers, good luck with the food diary :)
When you go walking, do you power-walk/walk briskly?? Weather permitting of course!! I actually fancy doing some nordic walking (??) where you walk with some kind of walking pole in each hand, supposed to give a great workout. I've seen nordic walking holidays advertised, I think in Scotland, I really fancy doing that.

mazzers, big hugs to you  Sounds like you are feeling a bit melancholy, tis time to look to the future & try not to dwell on the past. A New Year, a new, positive you

daisy, I'll be having a look at your MFW diary today, couldn't concentrate last night & went to bed early with a carb-crash headache :(
    What's cambozola cheese btw??

Thought of a couple more 'reasons for sticking with low-carb' -

How on earth could I forget - great food!!
We can eat gorgeous meals & still lose weight!! :j

Photos - there are already far too many 'fat' photos of me around _pale_ Would like to destroy/exterminate them, I hate to think of future generations seeing them & thinking of me as 'the fat one' :(

Anyway, will add them to the list. Any more 'reasons' from anyone??

    Menu for today:
    B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
    L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese/HM roasted butternut squash soup
D - chilli mince with mushrooms, cauli & green beans

Forgot to say, I got weighed this morning & have dropped 3lbs since yesterday, only another 9 to go!! :rotfl:

Have a lovely day everyone, my hubby & kids are off today because of the snow so may be making more snowmen!!

Food diary is already interesting - and it focuses the mind somewhat. I used to power walk when I could walk to work. At the moment I just sort of shuffle through the snow! Usually do a form of brisk walking, try to get puffed out and keep in time with the music on the radio/iPod.

More snow overnight here, will it ever end? Have pulled out of my meeting in Leeds as it'd be madness to even attempt that.

Had my bacon and eggs and green tea. Got a fuzzy head which must be carbs unloading I reckon, it's not exactly sore just sort of achey.

Must head into the shower now and get on with work.

Hope everyone's day is a LC one.
  • And more, heavier snow forecast for tomorrow!!
Think you made the right decision about cancelling your Leeds meeting, has been on BBC Breakfast news & tis pretty bad there.
I still have a headache this morning, feels like someone is balancing a very heavy book on top of my head!! :(

Feeling hungry now so off to make my brekkie, nomnomnom!! :D

Hi all - I did really well sticking to lc yesterday. I'd got rid of all the 'rubbish' stuff in the cupboards over xmas and then when I sat down to watch a bit of tv - hubby suddenly appeared with a packet of choc hobnobs that he had got for xmas and offered them to me - it'll be me on tv next for attacking him! Today's menu is yoghurt, chicken omelette and sausages with veg. I too have noticed that my skin has improved since doing lc. Could someone please pm me the excel sheet. Have a lovely snowy day.

    Hello!

The snow was 8 inches deep when I left for work this morning  I work in Blackburn which is normally a drive of 25 mins but over moors and bleakness. Took longer today but BBurn was quite clear - for about 5 mins :rotfl: Got sent home 1ish :j

Dunno what will happen tomorrow if it freezes tonight, roads were all quite dodgy as it was.

Am off to the post office then asda. Have a Tesco delivery booked for this evening but I have my doubts it'll appear :D

The last time I walked through shin high snow I was a little girl :rotfl: Feel a bit like that now! May make a snow thing in the back later, inspired by sweets creatures. The cat was cool :)

    Take care out there!

  • daisy, hope your hubby gets back safely, was he driving?? I'm sure the motorways will be pretty clear, tis just the minor roads (& pavements) that are bad.
That cheese sounds lovely!! Have you ever used it in a cheese sauce?? Is it a 'melting' kinda cheese?? Will have to have a look in Tesco to see if I can find it.

linni, my Sister has just come back from Bruges with some belgian chocolates for me!! Now, how the heck am I going to resist them?!

Mercy, good to see you back, wondered where you had been hiding ;)
You know you have to post photos of any snow creations you make, don't you?! :rotfl:
Hope your Tesco delivery arrives, don't want you, Sherlock & Newton going hungry!! :D

Well, tis snowing here again  & I still haven't made my lovely warming soup cos I've been out!! Will have a cup of coffee (just made by hubby) & then I'd better get organised - was supposed to be having it for lunch!!

    Hope everyone doing ok.

    Hi,

Made some LC chicken rissole/crisp bake type things today today , I swapped the onion for white of leek , mashed up cauli for the potato , and I whizzed up some almonds to roll them in.

Put them bask in fridge to get firm now, but I think they will have to go in the oven , will break up if I fry.

    *waves sheepishly*

Hello all. I've been lurking but now that I've managed two good days in a row I thought I'd pop my head up. I'm doing full on Idiot proof diet, making extra sure to have no sweeteners - really want to get all the addictive stuff out of my system. so far no bad headache, which is what I usually get, so not sure what that means. DH is doing it too which really helps.

    Has everyone seen this: http://health.marksandspencer.com/our-health-ranges/simply-fuller-longer

They are clearly distancing tehmselves from teh low carb bandwagon but they'd be worth a look I think - must be something in the range that's low carb. I never use ready meals normally but I'm thinking about stocking upa few in the freezer to have on hand for emergency 'can't-be-bother5ed-to-cook-so-might-cheat' moments.
