    Me again

    Reasons for sticking with low-carb:

    * nice skin - my skin is sooo much nicer when I'm lcing. Atm my skin is spotty & dull. Hadn't really noticed until I downloaded some Edinburgh/Glasgow photos the other day (from my trip there in October) & I thought my skin looked so fresh & clear on them (even if I say so myself :o)

    * no bloating - that is no carb face/hamster cheeks, stomach is flatter, no 'waterlogged' feeling

    * quote from daisy - i like the way i have so much energy and feel i could take on the world - i feel happy and confident in my clothes and with how i look which in turn makes me feel great
i like feeling in control of food rather than it being in control of me which can and does happen if i wander into HC land !!

    * How on earth could I forget - great food!!
We can eat gorgeous meals & still lose weight!! :j

    * Photos - there are already far too many 'fat' photos of me around _pale_ Would like to destroy/exterminate them, I hate to think of future generations seeing them & thinking of me as 'the fat one' :(

The next bit may be a bit TMI for those peeps of a sensitive disposition & I apologise in advance :rotfl:

    * no wind - I just don't do it when I'm lcing & I'm sure I'm a nicer person to know as a result!! High-carb wind is extremely unpleasant & plentiful!!

    * sweet-smelling No. 2's - Ok, maybe not sweet-smelling but hardly any whiff at all when lcing!! High-carb No. 2's stink to high heaven!! :rotfl:

Does anyone else have any 'reasons to stick with low-carb'? (that you will admit to!!)

I know I'm like a broken record but.... No Thrush!

And more snow... about 5 inches overnight. Kyboshed travelling plans again.

Am sitting with a big plate of bacon and eggs and really enjoying it. Took a few nuts last night to stave off any 'lowness' and am back to my PMA which is good. Working hard to get rid of any 'blame' or 'guilt' or feelings of 'I can't do this' and replacing them with positive thoughts. Can you tell I've been reading up about 'mindfulness'? Luckily I don't suffer from depression, however the concept behind 'mindfulness' is something which I find interesting. I haven't been to any sessions and don't intend to.

    Food plans:

Lunch - leftover hamburger with  no salad left but got some vegs in the fridge and some frozen cauli so it could be some kind of concotion!

Evening meal - mmmmm... not sure though the freezer is packed. May just roll some parma ham over cream cheese and have that. Got some garlicky Boursin left at the back of the fridge somewhere.

Hope everyone is safe and that your friends aren't melting!

Lol, that did make me laugh!! :rotfl:
Will add it to the list ;)

    Morning peeps :hello:

No snow overnight, but had lots of polystyrene balls this morning, that's what it looks like anyway!! :D

Kids are off school again but hubby had to go in, he was not happy!! Supposed to get heavy snow this aftie so he might get sent home early. I've got to go out soon but I really don't want to - tis too cold!!

    Menu for today:
    B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, at least one bowlful of soup
D - leftover chilli mince with cauli & green beans

On the subject of snow creatures, I had a dog run into our front garden (we are open plan) this morning & it looked like it did a piddle up DD2's snowman!! Didn't know whether to be  or :rotfl: Better not tell her, she'll be most upset!!

    Have a lovely day everyone.
mazzers, hope you manage to get out with your friends today

Hanspan. Thanks - i've pm'd you with the details. Todays menu: yoghurt, cheese omelette and stew (no spuds or carrots for me). The biscuits are all gone now so no more temptation. Went to Lidl for the yoghurts and actually managed to resist buying any chocs.

    Hello!

    Today's food
B - 2 crackers with pate and pork - nomnomnom
    L - nothing, still stuffed
D - 3 egg omlette with cheddar, green beans, pork, choritzo, leek topped with cherry tom slices.

    Stuffed again!

Had a sneezing fit earlier - prolonged for 10 mins with many nose blowings  And several sneeze/blow situ's since
Have taken a lot extra vit D to see if it works. Also having my water with freshly squeezed lemons in it. Will sort a bottle of half water half soda with a coupla lemons squeezed in it for work tomorrow. Anyone know how long vit C would last under those conditions?

Mercy, no sneezing over your computer when you're posting on here, I don't want your germs sneaking through to me!! :p
I've been drinking sugar-free Ribena (hot and cold) as that has lots of lovely Vit C in.

daisy, I've just read your MFW diary, glad it was a short one as some of them are pages & pages long!!
Wow, a place in Portugal, is that still the goal??
My goal is to get a place in Scotland, slightly colder & wetter than Portugal!! :rotfl: Tis a long way off for us but it's nice to dream *sigh*

Btw, did you watch that diet show last night?? I didn't rate it tbh. Felt sorry for the girl that had put a couple of lbs on when everyone else had lost though.

Forgot to say I dropped another lb yesterday, wouldn't normally weigh every day, but I'm curious to see how much is coming off because of how fast it went on!!

Hope it's all gone now - I use Flixonase (from chemist and off prescription) to keep the bogeys at bay. One hint of a sniffle and I take this nasal spray and it has, for a number of years now, been very effective.

Think Vit C dies very quickly in the light, however current research hasn't found anything efficacious about high dosing Vit C for colds. But... if it's a good placebo then it's great.

Had some fabulous home made tomato soup for my evening meal, with a dollop of sour cream in for extra yumminess. Dismayed to find out that brussel sprouts are about 8.5g/100g carbs. And that garden peas are a bit more.

Am drinking plenty of water and green tea and having small amounts of nuts as snacks. Just dug some lambs liver out of the freezer for tomorrow and the next day, haven't had any for ages and I just love it sliced into strips and stir fried with garlic and mushrooms. Can't wait.

Hope everyone is snug and warm and happy.

nope not really - prices have shot up and rentals have dropped - due to credit crunch
when we were there last year - week in may fortnight in august - we saw many empty apartments and it would need to be rented so the stress of worrying about renting it would do me in !!

also daughter is 14 and son 12 - they ''should'' both go to uni in theory so that will need funding somehow and we dont really want them to have to work stupid hours or have loads of debt if they do - everythings kind of on hold until then so approx ten years
hub will still only be 55 and ill be 50 in ten years so please god still lots of time xxx
