Hi Gaye! Hi Daisy!
Nice to hear from you both. I thouroughly concur with your urge to relax and enjoy but not to pig out. That's my plan and I can't wait to try it out!
Xmas Day will be a nice pork roast (cooked early) with brocolli, carrots and sprouts, gravy, stuffing, apple sauce and cranberry! Total relaxation with cats and tv. Got a coupla dvds and Dr Who! And a bottle of advocaat :rotfl: Will likely make some choc buns if I don't get around to them tomorrow. Will pick the time for what's best on radio.
I haven't seen any human on xmas day for 5 years. I love it! Not Bah Humbug at all, we do xmas on Boxing Day. We also do secret santa so it's a good time to spend on oneself :rotfl:
Massive amounts of LOVE to all who come here! May all you nicest dreams come true! And may any rankles fade away almost instantly to become simply mild history. :j
I really do love you guys

*peeps head round door...* Hello everyone :hello: Just to add my festive best wishes too:) Me and Gilly Badger are doing good, enjoying the xmas break and spending some 'quality' time together. Our new diet is going well too - he's lost one and a half stone in 5 weeks and me, 9 pounds. Which is not a bad start.
As I mentioned in my previous post, what made the difference for us was setting a daily calorie limit. Now obviously this makes it largely indistinguishable from a conventional diet, but just controlling carbs didn't really work for us... I don't know why:o But our plan is to continue with this method until we get to target and then use l/c to maintain. That's the theory anyway!:D
Like ravelesely, I am 4'11 so I really should be around 8 and a half stone, at the moment it's nearer 10, so a long way to go yet, but I am determined to get there, and more importantly perhaps, not to undo the good work up to this point. As others have said, want to enjoy xmas, but not go totally silly... in the food sense:D
From me and gilly - have a wonderful xmas and new year!
Much love to you all,
Sazzy xxxxx

The silvery bits look good on me too,
MXXX
Unfortunately mine just make me look even closer to a corpse - yesterday someone at work told me I really need to dye my hair! Cheek - she really has no tact.when I get my mini mallen thing going at the front. Shame the rest of the head wants in on the deal :rotfl: Just recently had a lot of the ones which grow an inch overnight and stick straight up! Not a good look and got sick of pullin em out :rotfl: Have to say hair is v shiny and quite dark. A good coupla washings should just let it shine and pick out variations. I only use semi permenants and can recommend Movida (only found it in Superdrug lately)
MXXX
I'm a henna girl and can recommend a site called henna boy for cheap and v good quality. However its cold, messy and long winded so none to appealing at this time of year. I may just try the Movida if I get to Boots today - it really depends if the pavement outside my door melts a bit as its an ice rink at the moment and I have no balance at the best of times - crutches for Christmas not a good look.
I'm now off till the 4th except for one day in next week as I couldn't find any coverStill hopefully there will be no bosses, in fact very few people at all will be in, so I might just get my out of control email and filing sorted out so I can start the new year feeling less confused (fat chance)!
Hope you're ll enjoying the preparations. I'm eyeing up my one serious indulgence - Panettone - that's been sitting in the kitchen for about a month, can I actually wait till tomorrow???0 -
Still clinging onto the wreckage of life caused by the storm of Christmas! The odd lapse into carb/sugar world is rubbish....
Will be trying to head north today if the roads warm up, actually it's not the state of the roads which give me hesitations but the state of other drivers.
Had my supplements, heading for coconut oil and then breakfast. Had to go to the shops yesterday and returned home fairly traumatised from it, today I'm just contemplating a quick visit to John Lewis' for one household item, dare I??
Happy LC Christmas Eve!0 -
Morning all :santa2:
Posting in festive red today, seeing as it's Christmas Eve
mazzers, hope your eldest arrived safely, have a lovely time together.
daisy, hubby just opened a tin of Quality Street this morning, I have already snuck the praline triangles out for later!!
Mercy, why is it that those grey, silvery bits in my hair are made of wire?! Curly wire as well!! :rotfl: Think I'll be looking for Movida in the New Year.
Enjoy your 12 days off, you deserve it!!
And we love you too :kisses3:
Sazzy & Gilly, well done on the weight losses!! So glad you are both doing so well. :j
HanSpan, I used to henna years & years ago, yes it really is a messy & smelly business!!
Enjoy your Panettone!! Nomnomnom!!
Gers, good luck with the visit to John Lewis!! Hope you manage to get up North safely, know what you mean about the state of other drivers!! We are supposed to be heading up there next week, weather permitting.
Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas Day tomorrow, whatever you are up to & whoever you are with.
Big Santa hugs to everyone!! :santa2:0 -
Hi everyone, although I haven't yet started LC'ing, I did get the IPD Cookbook from the library and last night I had the Salmon and Feta Bake for supper..it's gorgeous. Really quick to make and very rich and filling. Highly recommend it!0

Happy Christmas everyone!:xmastree:Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a peaceful New Year.I wish you all health, wealth, happiness and a slim butt for 2010.I will be seeing you all 'properly' somewhere around the 4th or the 11th of January. The 4th seems a good start date but the schools don't go back until the 11th and folk are off work until the 6th/7th so the house will still have festive eating people in it then and there will probably be some quality street left by then too. Maybe the 11th would be more 'do-able'.
Anyway, until then don't eat too many sausage rolls or drink too much egg nog (yeuch
) and keep well.

Was going to ask if the cook book was good but you have just answered my question. Managed to get the diet book and have picked up another one by India herself but have only seen cookbook full price. Might have a look in the sales.
Good news my scales finally showed some weight loss. After about 4 weeks of stalling they have gone down about 3 pounds. Cut back on the cream and peanuts.
Merry Christmas to you all and hope you all have the type of day you want.

I'm really not a great cook, and I've tried 3 recipes from the book and they all turned out really nice. After seeing some recipes on the Pig2Twig site that's when I ordered it from the library....I think it's the best LC cookbook I've seen so far, lots of inspiration in there !0
