    Hiya

Just had lightening and THUNDER  here. Been snowing on and off all day. Tried to follow a flake or two until I got a bit cross eyed, seems to be blowing about a lot before it lands. Not much depth to the snow and am pleased that I do not NEED to go out as cupboards are rather full. :j

Just made some bakewell slices but will be bakewell slice buns as all in my little lovely silicone cases. Have made 14 from the standard recipe but some are larger than others. After my slip with the shortbread yesterday I thought I'd better cater to any cake needs which may develop. That and I just love em!

Chopped all veg for beef mice curry too. Just waiting for the mince to defrost.

It's really nice that the house is finally warm (heating on since 6.30  off now, mind) My thermometer says it's 18'C so still in cardi, not parading round in tropical climes :rotfl:

Will be making lots of choc buns to take to M&D's on Boxing Day. May well make em Xmas Day so I don't eat em all first :rotfl:Glad I'm finally over my 'can't be bothered cooking - I'd rather sleep' phase.

Off to the kitched to turn my buns (!) Oven heats unevenly - honest!

Avid readers of this thread will be amazed to learn that I actually paid full price for something! :rotfl::eek::rotfl:

Got a lovely top, scoop neck, 3/4 sleeves from M&S. £15  Perfect for Boxing Day. It has these rough drawn black circles on it filled with purple, taupe and slime green! Nicely gathered just at the front so will be flattering even after all that food n booze! :j

Bank balance was quite healthy after all that OT, got some earmarked for a memory foam mattress topper but think I may need a new matress anyway. Will turn this one (proper MSE) before going for that though :rotfl: All for the New Year I think.

Hope you're feeling seasonal! I was a bit 'bah Humbug' til I heard Rage against the Machine earlier. Cheered me up no end :rotfl:

    Big love to all!

Hello all. Been away - only for four days in Athens but have only just caught up. I was a bit naughty - stuck mainly to LC but couldn't resist some of the puddings - baklava mmmmm - and I did have the odd corner of bred dipped in tzatziki and a few chips in olive oil (would have been rude not to test them;) I also drank a glass of retsina and more than a few sips of others' drinks just to test (have been off the booze since March).

Back home work has been mad and I've got stinking lurgy from someone so feeling more than a little sorry for myself and not at all chrismassy. Its a bad time to go away really in terms of Christmas as we've done no tree, cards, prezzies or even food and its this week - eek!

Congrats Sweets (like other's have said don't go mad and undo all the good work - I'd say just stick to a bit of what you fancy when you actually fancy it, rather than making a concerted effort to eat carbs you don't really want and probably won't enjoy very much!)

I should be going to work today but most of me still hurts so I think I'll wait till tomorrow in the hope the coughing diminishes a bit.

Hope you're all well and more prepared than me (wouldn't be hard).
  • Hello peeps :santa2:

Tis another quiet day in low-carb land

Funny you should say that :o Had a horrible reminder of what it feels like to eat carbs for the sake of it at about 3am last night when I woke up feeling mighty sick after an evening of carb-overdose. Hopefully a lesson re-learned.

Nothing much to say tonight, just ridiculously busy with Christmas preparations, stressing about the size of turkey I've bought etc :rotfl: I'll be glad when it's all over & done with.

    Hope everyone doing ok :santa2:

I hope so. It's tempting to go for it, hope I got it outta da way with my shortbread the other day. Not worth it, really.

You can't stretch it! Chill honey! Lotsa sausies in cavity, taste great and add a certain something. (extra portions?) M&D used to remove them as a solid mass then slice through so all the slices looked like a kinda flower! Wonderful! Tasted great and looked really good. Plus not presented with a sausage, just lovely circles of such.
    Hope everyone doing ok :santa2:

Hanspan - hope you feel better soon, hunni! Plenty o warmish water with lemon squirted in it. ;)

Big love to you all, my wonderful low carbers!

Hi folks, been really tired, had a late night and up early for work, couldn't wait to get home for a snooze :o

Just went for a sneaky quality street out of the tin hidden in my wardrobe and there's sod all left (about a dozen) they've been sniffed out and scoffed icon9.gif
Think i'll hide them in their wardrobes next year seeing as its the only place they dont use, their clothes are left in bundles on the floor.

Hanspan, how lovely, a nice break in Athens, lucky you.
    Oooh I love retsina, think i might get a bottle [STRIKE]tomorrow [/STRIKE] today icon7.gif

I have been a really quite assiduous carb-dodger since my mid-thirties. I am afraid there is simply no other way for me, in this job, to control my weight. And I mean “control”. I don’t mean “keep myself hound-lean, hard-bodied and dangerous” (I wish). I mean that by not eating simple carbohydrates I can just about avoid exploding into one of those people you see in jumpsuits on the high street

  • Hello peeps :santa2:

Tis fffffffffreeeeeeeezing here *cue chattering teeth*

Mercy, your M&D's turkey/sausie combo sounds lovely. Should have said it's actually a turkey crown I've bought, tis about the size of a budgie!! :rotfl: Will pad the Christmas dinner out with other bits & pieces, but just won't be enough for turkey curry on Boxing Day!!

Had a medicinal Baileys last night as feeling a bit worn out/fed up with extended family giving me grief :( Think I'll be having another one tonight, slept like a baby last night!!

    Hope everyone doing ok :santa2:

Why not cook little sausies under it? Same idea! Bet they'd be lovely, and give you something to baste the thing with :rotfl:

Baileys is nice. Medicinal or otherwise :D

Dyed my hair last night, no grey at all! I've gone for 'plum' Cut it too so nice and ready for xmas. Hair colour always looks better after a couple o washes so should be set for Boxing Day! Had fun, camped out in the bathroom with the two bar fire and radio. Sat listening to the Archers with a fag and a flask of hot weak mulled wine whilst the chemicals did their stuff :rotfl:

    B - cheese
L - hot pork n veg spicy stew
D - chicken, brie, apple sauce and salad.
snacks - 2 bakewell slice buns

Got my carb belly today from the shortcake pigout :( Glad I got that out the way, should be gone before celebrations (I hope!)

    Big love to all!
