I've got a Wii. Don't have the wii fit but have Wii sports and that is enough to get me huffing and puffing :o I particularly like the boxing -great stress relief and excercise in one.

It was a good post hanspan (bout the eskimos) makes you think why we worry.
Some interesting snippets in this book too, eg if you have fruit, have it on its own as after meat or fish (which take longer to digest) it gets stuck behind in the digestive tract and ferments causing bloating.

Have early morning coffee with a carby rather than fat breakfast as it raises blood glucose levels and you dont want insulin storing a fat breakfast.

It's not recommending carbs, only the unprocessesd low gi ones, seems to be low gi and food combining, a bit complicated though if you're used to lc.

Ooh thanks for that. I thought the wii sports was probably irritating computer golf and such like. I wonder if boxing would do it for me without the faces I wish to punch in front of me though ;)

Does anyone eat whole wheat pasta?, as that's next on my list of food substitutions (white pasta for whole wheat).

Pasta itself is pretty much all carb so I'd be surprised if good lowcarbers ate it. I won't entertain the stuff as it's wheat and I can't tolerate that well. All that said, if you're not low carbing, switching to brown rather than bleached is likely to be better for you.

    Hello!

My doors now work like proper doors! Imagine my glee! :j

Nearly fell flat on my face coming in earlier as I hefted at a door which now swings freely :rotfl: Will take some getting used to but I'm sure I'll manage.

Not v good today as I bought the door fixer lunch in town and had chips with my meal. No breakfast, just that and a glass of cider. Heyho.

I know they sell wheat free pasta in Holland & Barrett.

Personally I'm finding it's quite hard to have a low-carb diet that's not too 'samey'. So am looking for healthier alternatives to foods I usually eat weekly (pasta being one of them).

Infidel - you can use shredded veggies in place of pasta - I like to use shredded cabbage, kale or winter greens as a pasta substitute. Courgette cut into ribbons, or sliced greens beans are good too. Lots of the folks here also use grated cauliflower in place of rice. Just a few suggestions to be getting on with; hope that helps. Pasta of any kind is really too carb-dense for most low-carb diets, but wholewheat is ok for a GI/GL approach - just depends what plan you are following. All the best with it tho :)

Thanks for that, but as I generally have vegetable pasta then it might end up just being a plate of vegetables. Though I like the courgette idea, I may try it.

Specifically I want to switch to whole wheat pasta as supposedly it releases carbs and sugars slowly rather than white pasta which releases them much quicker. Something that will keep me going longer (kind of like eating oats I think). Personally I wonder if I've been overdoing it with the protein lately.
