So, what was the wake up call? A (new) colleague (I got made permanent at my job last week -yippee!)...anyway...she said "wow, i saw your wedding photos (6 yrs ago) and didn't recognise you - that's a warning to us all what marriage does to you"!!! Now, THAT was an insult. After picking myself up off the floor (and making a mental note to do something nasty to her coffee) I have decided to sort myself out.
So, I am back, back, BACK! Carbs be gone! I will be healthy and slim-ish and the world is my oyster. Hurrah!

    xXx Marrow.

YAY! Marrow! Good to see you again! Well done on the job! :j
As to the rest - What a biatch! Do DO something to her coffee :rotfl: What an ignorant n smug thing to say! I am gobsmakd as I've sometimes thought what she did but would NEVER say that to a fellow girlie.

Stick with us girl, we'll take the pi$ but only in fun and never about weight :D

Morning - STILL very excited here :j:j
then today will bring some much needed housework  need to vacuum and dust around and then wash the kitchen and bathroom floors - hate housework.
After not being able to, mopping n vaccing did make me feel better recently :) At least now the house looks n smells nicer :rotfl: I hate housework but I'v found I hate an oviously dirty house more :rotfl:
That's all for now folks, hope those who are bruised and battered by life or emotion have a peaceful weekend.
    Morning everyone :santa2:

Mercy, that's a good idea to make a trifle if the frozen choc puds dry out  I'm still experimenting with the tiramisu concoction, used half & half mascarpone/double cream last night with a drop of vanilla extract, still needs something else though.
    :santa2:

That'l be vodka. :rotfl: Trust me.(or a little brandy in the cake soak bit?)

I'm so glad you like the buns. I was right - they don't make you want to eat em all at once. Would be good to have 'Something to do with my spare buns' recipes :rotfl:
A good trifle and tiramisu recipe would get a spot on the recipe list no probs :rotfl:
(and a place in my heart!)

    Big love to you all!

Yeah well, got up at 04.30 today, not entirely impressed :D

Planned to get my shopping done after work (noon) then relax on the couch with a glass of wine then a snooze. No. Got my second wind and have done the washing, ironing (not much - barely believe in it) Tidying, defrosting of freezer, Chopping about 8 leeks, cleaning out 2 cupboards, sortin garden, playing with cats who barely see me concious these days, washing out all recycle stuff and now am at a state of collapse :rotfl: Still have scrabble to do :D

It's true - 'you don't know what you have until you look'

I wanted to buy more 750ml containers for lunches (I have much cooking planned for tomorrow) but asda was rubbish and I wasn't up to going into town. Anyway I cleaned out a cupboard and found 11 nice potential lunch containers! With lids! :j Imagine my glee :D It was one of those cupboards that go behind another and collect rubbish like you don't believe till you empty one :rotfl: Threw out loadsa lidless pots and potless lids :rotfl:

The newly rescued pots are freshly scrubbed and out for drying. Now the pressures on to fill em all :rotfl:

Plan a korma style curry using turkey thigh, green beans, mushies and cream served over sqashed cauli. Also a hot n spicy pork n veg stew. It's always good to have a choice when you open the freezer for lunch :) Stops you jumping under a bus, generally :rotfl:

B n snack - Frankfurters, cheese, lumps of melt in the mouth roast pork
L - nothing, quite full for some reason :)
D - not yet but will be lumps of pork, green beans, brie, cranberry, salad n a few cherry toms

Have had half a bottle of red so far, will likely finish it. I've decided not to care just now as I'm always SOO good - does me no good. So for today IM BAAAAD!:j Think I'll have worked off any naughtiness by not stopping moving for 15 hours :D Well I hope so and it's frankly too late to worry about all that.

    Big love

I have to be a good LCer this week to get rid of my illness-induced carbfest and do some excercise to tone up my belly and bingo wings ready for a girls night on friday :)

Any belly exercise tips?? My jelly belly is probably my worst bit :o Had 2 babies in quick succession & my belly never recovered!!
I know it'll never be flat as a pancake (tbh it never was :o) but would be nice to get a bit more toned.

Vodka in a tiramisu?? Hmmmmm, interesting idea!! Maybe at Christmas!! :rotfl:
I wish I could get the topping right though, the bun bit is nice, I just spoon black coffee over (3 dessert spoons is about right) but the cream/mascarpone/vanilla extract is not quite right. A work in progress but tis good to keep experimenting & eating the results!! :D
  • An early good morning all :santa2:

Drank too much red wine last night & fell asleep in a drunken stupor!! :o Woken up by a raging thirst so been up since 5.30am!! Wide awake now.

Where was mazzers yesterday?? Out on the razz again?? ;)

Gers & Mercy, you are putting me to shame with your housework frenzy!! My house is a rat tip atm, think I'll have to blitz it today!! :o

When is everyone putting their Christmas decs up?? :xmassmile:rudolf::xmastree::xmassign::snow_grin I'm getting flooring laid a week tomorrow so will have to be after that (& after the housework frenzy ). Just starting to feel Christmassy, will soon be time to watch It's a Wonderful Life :D

    Anyway, menu for today:
    B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
    L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
D - cottage pie with cauli mash topping & green beans. Tiramisu pud

Hope the co-op has a cauli & green beans as I've completely run out!! Tis not the most well-stocked of shops, but at least it's handy.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone :santa2:

No, I only do it about once every 6 weeks! I find that I can live very comfortably with a bit of mess, can't be doing with dirt but am not obessive about housework. Some friends, from a long while ago, used to keep an immaculate house, decorate every year and vacuum/dust every single day. I found their house very uncomfortable to be in as it was more like a showroom than a place to live in. Mind you, was always on the slobby side!

The only decorations we put out are some candles. The main one is a holder for 4 candles (somehow the 2 Ronnies just sprang into my mind there :rotfl:) and 1 gets lit every Sunday in December and the last one is just before Christmas. It's a German thing and it always takes me back to my time there and my maternal grandmother. Also got some little red candles around the place. Got the first card of the season yesterday :o and it's on the shelf in glorious splendour!

Breakfast coming up, got a coffee here by the PC. Concentration and determination boosted by the e-tickets stuck to the wall in front of me.

Lunch will be some mincey thing - mince with tomatoes, garlic, chillies and some lemon juice for seasoning - probably with salad. Need to up my veg intake substantially.

I hope everyone has a good, restful and LC Sunday. :A

Pilates! i wish I'd discovered it in the 80s - all the energy I put into the Jane Fonda workout could have been much more succesfully used :)

PM me if you would like a copy of my diva tv diy compilation pilates & ki yoga dvd to give it a try (or anyone else)

    Hello All!

I feel quite smug. I have already made massive amounts of Spicy Pork Stew and Turkey Thigh Korma :j

Will sort the cauli for under the curry and pot the lot off later. Will def have enough pots :rotfl: But not sure about room in the freezer. It's not very big so will be doing my version of the Krypton Factor at some point.

Going to listen to GQT at 2pm then have a bit of a read and maybe a doze. Not eaten anything yet, just not hungry. Do have some berries defrosting for a creamy snack, will likely have them with my book.

So glad I've done so much recently, don't have to feel guilty for chilling today before it all kicks off again tomorrow

    Big love to all!

  • Hello ladies,

last day of carbs - hubby made his cheese spatzle dish (kind of home made pasta). Off to make a quorn curry type thing now to keep me on the straight and narrow next week. I've got my yoghurt & berries for brekkie sorted and a load of nuts and cheese for snacks at work.

Got loads of pages of chat to catch up with - what happened to the mouse? Who deleted recipies? What do you guys get up to when I am not here to sort you out?! ;)

    xx

The boys just spotted the mouse in the kitchen and we have found out where he is getting in, a small gap around the radiator pipe leading into the conservatory, ive just filled the gap and laid the trap again so hopefully he will go in there for some mango cheese that he gobbled up when they spotted him and threw him some... cheeky little sod

He (or she) is at this moment cowering and flinching behind the radiator
