greytroot - all of our carb listings are already net carbs. american labels include firbre in carbs, and list fribre separately so they have to do the net carbs maths. we don't have to at all.
try cutting out the health bars too if you aren't losing your sweet tooth, and diet fizzy drinks as the brain registers sweetness when you have them even if they are low sugar.
    My name is Paula and I am a low carber :kiss: 1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg :kiss: (Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!:cry::cry:

    Oh forgot to mention..

The bloody mouse is still here, my son saw him relaxing in the lounge last night icon8.gif so it seems he did have enough dried cat food to last six months icon9.gif

It also seems that my JML electronic mouse deterrent doesn't work icon8.gif

I hope he doesnt find the lc cupboard with all the nuts!

Is it now qualified as a pet? Does it still !!!!!! in ur cupboards?

Hope your knee feels better soon. Having recently (well documented) back probs I was glad of my knees.
Mercy, hello you :D Just wondering if you've tried freezing the choc buns?? I made 10 the other night & only tend to eat one a day, my dad is helping me out  but not sure how long they last in an air-tight box??

Have a lovely weekend everyone :santa2:
Not tried freezing em yet, have found they last (longest in my house) for about 4 days, maybe 5. Try a few you think you wont get around to and see. If they're a bit dry, make a trifle! Then let us know :D

How do you work out net carbs - is it carbs - carbs that polyols and fibre. scared stiff to add into the diet as i have been doing so well. it really is the diet with almost immediate results. (still getting the sugar/chocolate/chips cravings)

Polyols scare me frankly. Have heard so many tales of toilet probs. That and they don't stop the cravings anyway.

    L - spicy pork n veg stew
D - Lumps of hot roasted pork with lots of buttered green beans - still al dente and sooo tasty

Think the vodka may help in this regard :)

Am of to bobo's so wish you all a good night's sleep. If you wake up in the early hours at all, think of me and permit yourself a chuckle as I'll be up in a bit and you still have your bed :) Roll over and relax, I wish you sweet dreams :rotfl::T:beer:

    Big love

  • Arrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!

Forgive me icers for I have sinned & it has been ages since my last confession. I have coveted my neighbours carbs. In fact I have done more than covet, I have wallowed in their lardy goodness and scoffed myself silly. As a result I am porky and bloated and mightly fed up with myself.
So, what was the wake up call? A (new) colleague (I got made permanent at my job last week -yippee!)...anyway...she said "wow, i saw your wedding photos (6 yrs ago) and didn't recognise you - that's a warning to us all what marriage does to you"!!! Now, THAT was an insult. After picking myself up off the floor (and making a mental note to do something nasty to her coffee) I have decided to sort myself out.
So, I am back, back, BACK! Carbs be gone! I will be healthy and slim-ish and the world is my oyster. Hurrah!

    xXx Marrow.

Had chickeny stuff and salad for evening meal and now drinking my LAST bottle of wine until I reach Melbourne. :p Going out with one of my nephews and visiting three other nephews. Sorry, very excited now.

    Hope others are fine.

Morning - STILL very excited here :j:j

Breakfast is cooking; 2 lovely eggs and some Ayrshire bacon,
Not sure about other meals but am going to the farm shop this morning to get some more bacon so will check out the rest of the meats there.

then today will bring some much needed housework  need to vacuum and dust around and then wash the kitchen and bathroom floors - hate housework.

That's all for now folks, hope those who are bruised and battered by life or emotion have a peaceful weekend.
  • Morning everyone :santa2:

Tis a beautiful & sunny morning here :D

Hiya lesley, I'm trying to lose a stone before Christmas & have 4lbs to go!! Then I intend to put it all back on over Christmas!! :D

Mercy, that's a good idea to make a trifle if the frozen choc puds dry out  I'm still experimenting with the tiramisu concoction, used half & half mascarpone/double cream last night with a drop of vanilla extract, still needs something else though.

marrow, good to see you back!! :j I had a similar 'weren't you slim' insult from an ex-colleague years ago, still makes me go grrrrrrrrrr when I think about it!!
I have been positively angelic for the last few weeks :A don't know what's got into me, I'm unrecognisable!! :rotfl:
Good luck with getting back to lcing & well done on the job. :D

Gers, if I was going to Oz I'd be doing cartwheels!! That's fantastic & my face is a putrid shade of envious green!! :rotfl: Soooooo exciting for you!! :j My Niece & her fiance are going this New Year so I'm doubly jealous, Oz is somewhere I've wanted to visit for years & I will get there one day!! :D Hope you have a wonderful time!!

Think I need something like a holiday to look forward to  Got me thinking now ...

    Anyway, menu for today:
    B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
    L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
D - M&S chicken with leek/bacon with veggies, tiramisu pud for afters

Have a lovely weekend everyone :santa2:
  • lesley - good on you girl! The time will fly by and I bet you'll be amazed with the result 3 strict weeks gives (I'm hoping the same for me, lol. Thanks for reminding me how little time was left before the annual Christmas inspection)

marrowgirl - what a cow! i bet it'll keep you on track though, and then you'll be able to show her (and much more smugly satisfying than a spit-cappucino!).

When I meet up with people they either say you haven't changed at all (if they knew me up until i was 23 or when i was 26/7) or gosh don't you look well/gosh you've lost loads of weight (depending on how polite they are) if they haven't seen me for 18 months!

I have to be a good LCer this week to get rid of my illness-induced carbfest and do some excercise to tone up my belly and bingo wings ready for a girls night on friday :)

Thanks :j:j I've been a number of times before and travelled across it widely in my younger days. Last time was just for a week for my brother's funeral so this time will be more joyous and a bit longer so its very :j:j

My slimmer days are not so long ago but then I was able to walk to work and back each day (3 miles each way) and that really helped. New job since then means that I'm usually in the car or at my desk  and then the lazy bones set in and the weekend walking excursions stop.

Eating some cheesem tocked up on bacon and eggs, watching final Time Team and then going to set to with the housework duties.

    Happy eating folks.
