Hello lc'ers.. thinking about trying to lose some weight but not sure how yet.
Just a couple of questions, is it true that eating lc seems to kill your cravings for sugar etc? And you dont feel hungry on it?

Isklar, I used to have [STRIKE]several[/STRIKE] sweet things every day but now I can go for weeks without wanting/needing something. I won't say low-carb kills cravings completely, but I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be!!
There are some lovely 'sweet' recipes on page 1 of this thread.
Also, I would say I mostly don't feel hungry on low-carb, and if I do, I eat something!!
  • Morning all :santa2:

Feeling soooo tired & fed up this morning :( Hubby has 'man flu' & was coughing & spluttering all night. He's also been making 'poor me' exaggerated moans & groans during waking hours & my patience & sympathy is now starting to wear a bit thin!! He went out to work in a mood today because I hadn't asked him how he was feeling this morning!! Nobody ever bothers to ask me how I'm feeling!! The clue is in the red, angry face btw - major PMT alert!!

    Anyway, menu for today:
    B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
    L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese
D - chicken something with veggies/tiramisu pud for afters

Oh well, another busy day ahead.
See you all later, have a good day everyone :santa2:

Men! and men with flu

Anyway... had my breakfast, done some work and now jumping into the shower. Got loads of stuff to post first thing and then expecting a parcel (being delivered to office) with a present for a friend.

Lunch will be some bolognaise sauce without the spag bit. Evening meal destined to be Chinese takeaway brought forward from usual Friday as I hope to head up to Glasgow tomorrow, if I get organised and sorted and the weather is conducive. Got a meeting in Leeds in the morning first.

Will not be buying any more wine - it seems to stream out of the bottle and straight down my throat without any real effort on my part. Imagine the ectoplasam from Victorian mediums.... :rotfl:

Day ahead calls - hope everyone out there has a good one.

Thanks sweetserendipity, I've got a terrible sweet tooth and find that the more i eat sugary stuff or even things like bread , I just get stronger cravings.
I'd heard that LC can help with cravings, and that most people find it easier to just avoid the stuff than try to eat it in moderation.
I think I'll be joining the LC'ers very soon!

I've actually avoided eating fruit this time on low-carb for that reason, it seems to make me hungrier & I want to eat more sweet-tasting stuff, think it's the natural fruit sugars. The only 'sweet' things I eat now are Mercy's chocolate buns, made with 70% dark chocolate, so not really 'sweet' iyswim.

    Wow, well done.

Not sure where to get them. Try making some of the 'cakes' on here, recipe list on page1.

    Thank you!! :D

But if I can put 8lbs on in less than a week (during October hols), then I think I can manage a stone over the Christmas holidays!! :o :rotfl: And yes, I am very much a piggywiggy lol!! :D

The buns are made!! Started making them before Corrie but had to wait for the choc to cool, so finished them off afterwards. The smell is deeeeeeeeelicious but won't have any until tomorrow as I've already had 2 more crispbreads with my wine tonight!! :o
OK go for the stone :rotfl: Will still give you summat to do new year!

I went through a very sweet tooth thing, ate a lot of the cakes on the recipe list page1. But after a while - 8 weeks or so - I went off sweet things. I do the occasional cake - the choc buns are soo good :) but it's a good few months since I 'craved' sweet things. Now it's just a case of having /making some if I fancy them. I don't feel the need to eat them all at once either :rotfl:
