Good morning, Harcombe here i come, the next five days will be fish, eggs, veg and salad with a little brown rice thrown in, hopefully i can stick to it and move onto phase four.
Its still dark outside, i so hate dark mornings
Have a good day, see you later peeps.0 -
Morning!
Had a great day yesterday - ate loads of veg (leeks, sprouts and asparagus) with huge lunch. It was a bit late for lunch so it did me for the rest of the day, especially as I had some berries and cream afterwards. Drank loads of water too so feel really virtuous!
Today, had my first cup of coffee and the morning coconut oil and now just about to go out for a quick walk before breakfast.
Started to re-read 'Life without Bread' again to remotivate myself. Not that I was unmotivated... just sort of chugging along. Now in top gear, although the book says that women and those approaching the menopause finder it harder to lose weight... that's me banged to rights then. However I do know that when I'm rigid in the ways of LC then it's effective - no doubt about it. The only reason for not losing weight is not sticking to the guidelines. Certainly we are all human and fallible and tempted and undisciplined and easily led astray
I want to enjoy life, love and my family more than I want to remain fat. :j
Food today:
Breakfast - bacon and eggs
Lunch: probably with a colleague so I'll have mince and veg and he'll have it over pasta
Evening meal: ham salad
Am away for a couple of days this week, probably not overnight but certainly most of the days so have stocked up on mini cheeses and pepperamis for the car.
Lashings of cream to everyone.0 -
Hello peeps :santa2:
Out early this morning so didn't get my weekly weigh-in, have a feeling it's gonna be bad anyway, not that I've been naughty cos I haven't, but I'm feeling hormonal & a bit bloated due to imminent totm (early again) What was that you were saying about menopausal women, Gers?! Think I'm a textbook case!!
Menu for today:
B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
D - roast chick with cauli/mush/green beans cheesy mushiness
Hopefully lashings of cream will feature somewhere
Won't be having a pud today because I forgot to get one out of the freezer. However, will probably be having some slices of beef as an 'extra' snack as I've just picked up a bargain reduced joint in the Co-op & tis cooking away as I type.
mazzers, good luck with the Harcombe, sounds as if it could be along the lines of low-gi??
marrow, good luck with your first day back lcing!!
Hope everyone having a good day :santa2:0 -
I'm starting to wonder if I'm consuming too much salt in my diet??
I don't add it to food, or when I'm cooking, but I eat quite a bit of cheese (more than the matchbox size daily portion that Daisy mentioned a while back, unless it's the big household size box that is:rolleyes:) & I've also been buying salted butter (it was on offer) as I seem to go through it so quickly!!
Does anyone else feel the same??
Btw, this is in addition to the concern that I'm not eating enough vegI know Gers has mentioned this as well, so not just me.

i don't think we've got a problem with salt as we're all pretty much cooking from scratch rather than buying ready made or processed stuff.
is there much salt in cheese? i hadn't ever thought of that. and i eat loads of cheese - in cheese sauce and snacking. far more than the mythical matchbox/pair of dice allowances. i'm glad someone else does too
i'm quite good with veg though - i eat more now than i did before for sureMy name is Paula and I am a low carber1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg
(Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!

When i joined that 'fitday' food calculator, it stated that my salt was far too high, i did mention at the time, i think it was you that mentioned about the salty butter, bacon, ham and cheese.
I dont eat enough veg when lcing either.
So far so good, no coffee and only one cup of unsweetened tea so far, had half a chicken mid day and some fish with cauli and carrots at 4pm, must admit, i'm bloody starving now tho
Am going to cook a pork steak and have with some brown rice soon. Keep telling myself its only for five days!
Seems you mustn't mix fats and carbs in the next phase but sounds much more flexible.0 -

I wonder about the salt in my diet too. Although I cook from scratch mostly and do not sprinkle it, I too eat a lot of cheese and frankfurters. When I use bacon in the stew or for crisps I find I have to soak n boil it a bit first as otherwise it's a bit too salty for me. Maybe I worry too much :rotfl:
Trying to up the veg, reckon I get about 3 portions on a regular day.

Ah marrow, evil indeed.
I've been good too!
Had my rice and pork and some veg, no drinking allowed with meals as it waters down stomach acid and impedes digestion.. makes sense i spose, so only just having a camomile tea, cant believe i havent had a coffee
Mercy my doors were sticking awful, but have loosened up a bit lately, must be not quite so flippin damp, or maybe the frame has now caught up and expanded to fit the door
Am in bed to avoid all temptation0
