    Morning everyone :hello:

Feeling a lot better today, yesterday I felt like I'd been drugged, just felt drained, tired & generally carp :( To do with (still imminent) totm rather than lcing though.

(didn't trust myself with a sharp knife :o)

    Hope everyone doing ok.
Mercy, you are uber-organised & I'm loving the sound of those socks!! :D
Might see you all later

Hope you are feeling more together today, you know yourself so sharp object avoiding sounds suitable :)

I'm not really uber organised on a general basis, but when I have to (when freezer is devoid of meals but full of meat) I get my act together:)

Mazzers seems to be another one with it under control (see below). Depends on motivation. Both me and mazz had meets lined up and nothing can get in the way of that!

    Yesterday food
    coconut oil n supplements
    B - nothing not hungry
    L - 3 chicken thighs
D - Ox heart in gravy with mushrooms and leek, tom puree and butter
Afternoon - 2 pints of Strongbow

    Todays food
    coconut oil n supplements
    B - nothing not hungry
L - Bavarian ham round slightly warm brie with baby plum toms and bits of pepper
D - will be ox heart in tasty gravy over squashed cauli.

I don't seem to get hungry for breakfast so much at the weekend, even when up early. Workday routine always includes a good breakfast so don't really know why it should be so different at weekends?

I've defrosted the beef mince so am off soon to make up my lovely curry. Will likely get 3 or 4 meals out of it when made up over cauli mash. Will make curry today but give it a night to 'settle' before sorting cauli and potting off tomorrow evening.

I'm uber organised apparently :D, it may seem so but cooking is also something I enjoy and am lucky enough to have the time to do it comfortably. :j

    Yay!

    Enjoy the afternoon all!

hello everyone!!!! back to low carbing tomorrow after my 5 day birthday carb fest!!!

am glad that I was endulging myself as the sore throat turned into a really bad cold so spent the last 4 days curled up on the sofa :( went out friday for a birthday treat which really didnt help my cold as we were outside all evening (dog track!) though have drunk my body weight in wine (all medicinal of course!).

have been sooo grateful for my slowcooker while Ive been ill as I really havent felt like cooking so just lobbed it all in with some stock and gone back to it a few hours later. have also loved mopping up the juices with some garlic bread!

still havent been to the chippy!! just really dont fancy any - even friday night after I had a few beers!!

got loads of eggs I need to use up so will take a few to work and have some for brekky and prob do an omlette for tea.

happy low carbing all and I will be back on the wagon tomorrow - tonight I will be finishing off the rocky chocolate bars and bread rolls in my cupboard!!!!

I've just had the most delicious chicken ever. It's a chicken breast crown marinaded in rosemary and garlic from Sainsbury's. Cooked it for an hour and had some on watercress leaves, coleslaw and fried up mashed cauli -my fave meal to date! There's plenty left over for at least another 2 meals and I will buy that again. Pity the mini pork shoulders weren't so good.

Now stuffed and happy - will make some room for strawberries and cream later. Hardly a carb in sight today.

Bought myself a lovely lovely red duffle coat :j:j (been wanting one ever since I bought one for my eldest nephew's Christmas about 22 years ago) and a new trolley suitcase. I spend so much time away and lugging my case that I needed a lightweight one, and this one travels sideways as well as back. Sorry to be so excited about material goods :p

Apart from the possiblity of berries and cream my eating for the day is complete. Got to rehearse a presentation, lubricate my still husky voice and have an early night. Just watched 'Never mind the Buzzcocks' on iPlayer (last 2 episodes) and think I'm in love with Noel Fielding, with Alex James a close second. Need to grow up!

Thanks Mercy - nice words which gave me a glow.

Didn't have the berries and cream, instead found a bar of 90% dark chocolate and had 2 squares which were more than enough, couldn't force any more in. Mind you, had room for 1 glass of wine.

An old friend dropped in unexpectedly, that was lovely as I was more than a little cheesed off with him earlier this year and he's made an effort to re-establish the connection. :j

I've got an early start tomorrow so made some more eggy bacony muffins so can grab something quick. Got more hotel food tomorrow and Tuesday for lunch but can do the protein bit easily enough now.

Hope everyone's having a good evening and not giving in to temptation. ;)

I saw that trap, but mine was made out of an empty 2 litre water bottle with the top cut off and inverted into the bottle so it cant get back out, hasn't worked though, and i even put 'steps' leading up to it ( paperback books)
    and i've also got a cat !!!!!!

Ah well back to the drawing board

I too have cats and regular rodent intrusions. My extra fat cat will sit motionless and silent for literrally days, watching the mouse machine (I'm fairly sure he thinks the tumble dryer is a magic mouse incubator) until the poor unsuspecting thing runs out to be stopped by a large paw. If I'm lucky enough to be around fatso will then just let me lift said large paw and retrieve the now even more terrified beasty. The others aren't so accomodating, they usually enjoy an afternoon of 'show mummy how to catch small rodents' before I catch it with a large tupperware square pot and an lp sleeve slid under.
However the last whily critter I managed to catch with a welly boot - read about this on the internet somewhere - they like dark so maybe your trap would work if its inside something dark. That's assuming it hasn't been eaten yet of course ;)

Morning - just rushing in to say 'hi' and going again. Got the kettle on, had my shower and will be off in about 10 minutes time.

Slept the sleep of the just, undisturbed and deep. No mouses to worry anyone here.

Breakfast is an eggy bacony muffin thing with a big cup of tea.

    Have a good day folks.
  • Morning everyone :hello:

Feeling soooo poorly today :( totm has arrived with a vengeance, don't usually feel this ill.

newcook, belated Happy Birthday to you, sounds like you had a good one, apart from the rotten cold.

Gers, your chicken/garlic/rosemary sounds lovely, infact the whole dinner sounds lush, even in my sickly state.

I'm hungry but don't feel like eating atm. Going to have a bath first & see how I feel after. Feel like I want comfort food.

    B - cheese omelette??
    L - 2 x crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage??
D - cottage pie with cauli mash topping??

Think I might go back to bed for half an hour before my bath, had a really bad sleep last night, not helped by hubby trying to knee-cap me in the middle of it. Think I need to consider separate beds.

See you later all, have a good day

Oh, & I weighed this morning (even though my IPD book told me not to around totm) & I haven't lost a sausage all week. Diddly squit. Nada. :(

Hey all, hope you're doing OK! Sorry for the prolongued absence...

Well, all the pigging out finally got to me - over the last month, I've been going out with friends on company expenses and therefore spending as much money as possible on lots of naughty food and drinks. It's been a nightly three-course restaurant meal with wine followed by a trip to a "dessert !!!!!! for something sweet and sickly with coffee.

So, after a very long period of no movement at all, I put on about half a stone... thankfully, in the last couple of weeks I've just not been hungry and most of that has disappeared again. My hope is that I'll now keep eating the same amount and maybe the weightloss will go a bit beyond! As happy as I am with my new "natural" weight, it would be very nice to get a bit closer to the target...

I'm doing my Mum's version of the diet now, which includes fruit (yes, yes I know all about the "dangers of fructose" but Mum's done so incredibly well, and I feel better for the water-soluble vitamins that I get).

    So yesterday:
    - Set yoghurt with flaked almonds
    - three Quorn sausages, leaf spinach and a mini corn-on-the-cob

    And today:
    - Fresh berry smoothie
    - Homemade chinese-style stuffed omelette (stuffed with soya mince, mushrooms and chilli sauce)
    - Dunno, I'm going to a restaurant...
