Lol!! No, no more low carb treats to mention today sweet!

I tried the tikka mayo last night with some cheese – it was bl00dy lovely!!!! Its got a really nice kick to it!

Today has been egg and sausage for breakfast, slimmers world tuna with lime and black pepper (v.nice!!) and tea will be a gammon casserole (providing my new slowcooker has done its job properly!!)

Might make some more peanut butter cookies later but might add an extra dollop of butter and make them fatter so they are nice and soft in the middle! (also must remember not to let them overcook and be more like biscuits!) might also melt some plain chocolate and dribble it over the top of them! Mmmmm!!

ooooh - flat smells lovely of homely stew!! quick question - whats the carb count of cornflour??? had to use a little bit to thicken gravy!

Im also going to be naughty and have a tiny wholegrain roll... not had bread for 3 weeks!
  • Where is everyone today??

Ok, I'll talk to myself

new batch of cookies are looking good!!! got to wait for them to cool down before I can have a taste :( made a couple of tweaks to the recipe and added half a teaspoon of baking powder - glad I didnt make it a whole one or they'd be bursting out the oven!!!!

I made my teeny tiny roll last me 2 bowlfuls of stew - was lovely!!! quite salty though (I used a gammon joint and Im guessing the soy sauce didnt help!) next time I need to add bigger peices of veg as they had all disintergrated!! was still tasty though! and I have another bowlful left for some supper later!!

The secret to avoid a salty gammom joint is to bring it to the boil, throw away the water then add fresh boiling water and simmer til cooked.

I've been crap again today, i totally give up!!
But i did walk to the shops and carry heavy bags home so at least i got some excercise.

Glad to see you're still enthusiastic newcook.

cheers mazzers - I would have done that but I thought I would give it a whirl in my new slowcooker!

I love gammon cooked in coke (even though I prefer diet coke to full fat but gammon tastes better cooked in full fat - and even better in cherry coke!)

only enthusiastic as I am finding loads of little 'treats' that are low carb and reading the lables to see if Im allowed any!!! plus I know I have some carbing days to look forward to such as my birthday and bonfire night (going to 2 parties bonfire weekend and both hosts do fantastic curries and chillies with jacket spuds!)
plus whenever I feel like throwing in the towel I have to only think of my bank balance and remember I cant afford to buy bigger clothes and I dont WANT to buy bigger clothes!!! not when I have a wardrobe of stuff that if I just shifted some weight I could get into!

    Morning peeps

Hope you`re feeling better today Gers, that particular lurgy is horrible.

Well despite my best intentions i`ve still not been eating properly, yesterdays breakfast was fine, bacon, scramblies, sausages and mushrooms. Dinner was supposed to be cheese and salami but i had more sausages and tea was supposed to be curry - the curry is already cooked and just needed reheating but i ended up having more sausages and a couple of bits of bacon :o i just can`t be !!!!!d with food atm.

Dunno why cos i`ve never been like this in my life - food just ruled my day.

Got weighed this morning and i still weigh the same as last week so not all bad, need to get myself out of this little rut that i find myself in although i`ve no idea why.

The appetite vanished when i had the lurgy but it`s a bit strange that its not back with a vengeance

Never mind, i`m sure it`ll return eventually :D

Newcook, i love reading about your recipes n stuff, the cookies sound particularly nice.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
