Morning all :hello:
Talk about rubbing it in, Gaye!!Tis decidedly chilly here this morning (although tis sunny) & hubby had to scrape ice off his car windscreen!! He wasn't best pleased!!
Welcome back MoonRose, sounds like you have had a lot to deal with since we last saw you. Best wishes to you & your OH.
Hello newbie emma, I'm another one that doesn't have cereal/breakfast bars. My brekkie is usually omelette, sausages, that sort of thing.
Gers, hope you enjoyed your cheese & wine
Dobie, I will persevere with the spinach, maybe I did put too much in the omelette yesterday?? Did taste very 'grassy'
marrow, I won't tell a soul that you had snack a jacks!!
AH, I buy chipolata sausages from Co-op (it was 2 packs of 10 for £4.50 but don't know if they are still on offer) they are high meat content & low-carb. As long as you look for sausages with a high meat content you should be fine.
mazzers, I would love to have a gas fire but we have no chimney. I know you can get flue-less gas fires but I don't know if I can be bothered with the hassle of getting someone to fit it.
Had an early night last night as I was feeling sick during/after dinnerObviously something I was eating but don't know what?? Wondering if it was the cream as it's been open for a few days?? Or could have been the spinach as that was a day out of date?? Don't know but I still feel a bit sicky this morning, that horrible 'in your throat' sicky. Still going to try & have my meals though
B - 2 x warm boiled eggs & garlic sausage
L - 2 x crispbreads with butter & cheese
D - chicken curry, maybe with cauli mash
Have a good day everyone :wave:0 -

Morning, just had Bacon, egg and sausage with a cuppa and it was lovely:D
Lunch will be salad with corned beef and extra mature cheddar
Dinner Chicken paprika, tenderstem brocolli and sugarsnap peas.
Really need to up my water intake as i've been a bit rubbish with it lately:o
Will the little splash of (full fat) milk i have in my tea stall me?
Hope everyone has a lovely low carb day. It is freezing here:eek: Need to dust off my slowcooker and make some nice stews i think:pThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Just popping by. Being a bit rubbish but stillmanaging to lose/hold steady, which is all I can hope for at the moment. Can Ijust ask what the thoughts are on fruit? I see above that lots of people are eating it but I thought fruit was pretty high carb? It's not allowed on the idiot proof diet until phase two and then only berries. What's the deal with stewed apples?0

emma, you can buy low-carb bread but tis expensive, think you can buy it from www.lowcarbmegastore.com Have you looked at the recipes on page 1 of this thread?? There are some 'bread' recipes. Flax/linseed is available from Holland & Barrett & I think I've seen it in Tesco.
As for porridge, tis high carb & best to be avoided if you are low-carbing seriously. Some peeps on this thread are doing low-gi or a more relaxed low-carb diet so will allow themselves oats at times.
g&b, don't think a splash of milk will stall you too much, unless you drink gallons of tea!! Have you tried lemon tea instead??
Also, regarding the water intake, I'm finding it difficult to drink cold water atm because the weather has cooled down, so I'm having it boiled with a squeeze of lemon in it.
sarah, I have just had some stewed bramley apple (no sugar or sweetener) but I consider it to be a treat & won't be having it all the time, had it with half a pot of plain yoghurt. Have also bought some strawberries as I was feeling a bit sorry for myself earlier, thinking about making some low-carb strawberry tarts to cheer myself up.0 -
Hi all!
Not been around for a while but Im back!! The ‘bug’ I had has also gone – turns out there were a few others who had come down with it as well so possibly just co-incidence it happened around the time I chose to make flaxbread!
Still, Im wary now so don’t think I will be making it again for a long time!
I will now hold up my hands and admit to eating beans and mash potato on Monday (and a couple of chocolate chip cookies – ok it was half a packet) – its one of my favourite comfort foods when Im poorly so I had some – I only managed a few mouthfuls though!
Yesterday I still hadn’t quite got back my appetite and had no breakfast, for lunch I had a couple of mini pepperamis and a baby bell and later when I was starting to feel hungry I had 3 burgers with mayo and a spoonful of peanut butter!
Today has been slightly better though still no breakfast – lunch was scrambled eggs with ham and cream cheese and Im thinking of doing a prawn curry for tea but not quite decided yet…
Need to be really good for the next week as its my birthday soon and as a present to myself I am going to have carbs(including fish and chips for my tea that night!!!!)

ooooh whats tenderstem brocolli?!?!
just found out my nan is going to get me a slowcooker for my birthday!!! do you have some low carb stew recipes please?!?!!
had a prawn curry in the end (with plenty for lunch tomorrow and tea tomorrow night!) its got to be said - im quite impressed with the Patak curry pastes - my tin of Rogan Josh sauce was 9carbs per 100g (283g in tin) and makes plenty of curry sauce!! I added an onion but you could add allsorts and still have it low carb!
however, its just not the same without a naan to mop it up with...!!0 -
forgot to say - I've got a fab recipe for some chocolate brownies (but I left the recipe at work
) will make sure I remember it tomorrow and post it!! all we need now is some low carb custard to go with it!!!
